That salute she got at the end was everything to me. She turned the tide in that battle, and gave her all fearless. Most people being fired upon, male or female, would not have the gumption to lead and run towards the fire.

Bro she didnt turned the tide it was not bar fight but big battle with one million soldiers. What decided Kolubara battle was military genius of Duke Zivojin Misic, probably the best general of WWI.

When she got injured and they found out she was a woman, she had been on her tenth deployment.
She was injured a total of nine times and most of her fighting(if not all) was on the front lines.
She was also thrown in a concentration camp for not attending a banquet with Germans and the puppet Serbian leadership when WWII was starting.
The fact she survived all that is astounding. She deserved every single one of those medals she received.

The animated story videos are the best versions of Sabaton songs to react to, except for Christmas Truce which is best watched after the official video. There are currently 6 animated story videos: No Bullets Fly, Night Witches, The Red Baron, The First Soldier, Christmas Truce, and of course, this.

That shell that winged Milunka is called a "Shrapnel shell". It was fused so that a certain range it would act like a flying shotgun and send iron balls flying into enemy infantry. Honestly that took a twisted mind to come up with.

You need to raise the volume of your mic, the music is way higher than your speaking.
OK, that out of the way, great reaction as always! One thing mentioned in the lyrics but not represented in the video is how she enlisted in the first place. The following is from Wikipedia. What a remarkable woman...
"In 1912, her brother who was ill with tuberculosis received call-up papers for mobilization for the First Balkan War. She chose to go in his place-cutting her hair and donning men's clothes and joining the Serbian army. She quickly saw combat and received her first medal and was promoted to corporal in the Battle of Bregalnica. Engaged in battle, she sustained wounds and it was only then, when recovering from her injuries in hospital, that her true gender was revealed, much to the surprise of the attending physicians"
    Cheers!

Have you considered watching the Sabaton History videos? The stories behind the songs? If you want, I'd recommend watching "Sabaton History - Uprising" and then follow up with the music video

Serbia in WW1 is the story about heroism and sacrifice, there were more women who fought, and a 9 y.old boy became a sergeant... the US President Woodrow Wilson gave the order to fly the flag of Serbia over the White House in 1918. the first foreign country ever to receive such an honor.

Milunka Savić joined the army instead of her brother. at that time women could not be soldiers. She skillfully disguised herself as a woman until she was wounded the third time. when they bandaged her, they saw that she was female. She was wounded a total of 9 times. After the war, France offered to live and be an honorary citizen of France, she refused and remained living a modest life in Serbia. It should also be said that Milunka is the woman in the world most decorated with medals for bravery and participation in battles.

You should do a reaction video to Inmate 4859 by Sabaton. You should maybe wait untill over Christmas, because it is one of the darker stories. I love the darker stories tho, like The Price of a Mile, The Final Solution, 1916, and Far from the Fame.

Yea, absolutely no reason why women can't do military service. In my country it's mandatory for men and women can do it if they want to. Women in all armies (who accepts them) have proved that they are as capable as men, sometimes even better. Next thingy: Ranking somewhere top 10 with equality and with pretty much everything. We would get way more reserve and professional military ppl if rules were same to men and women and what ever you are born. Yes country is Finland and we haven't forgotten Russia. Who could nowadays lol

I have a lot of respect for you and don't take this personal but why do American's or Canadians put on English subtitles when the person that is speaking on the video either explaining things is English from England and speaks our National language which is English that was invented in England hence the language is called English. It not only gets to me personally as an Englishman and it is very disrespectful to England and it's citizens. I can understand a person from China or Japan or Ukraine or any country and it's citizens first and only language is not English but there own then i can understand them having subtitles of their own language, but when it comes to English speaking countries that put on subtitles of an Englishman who is speaking clear and understandable English, it doesn't seem to me to be logical for English speaking people to put on English subtitles. Even my favourite band Sabaton who come from Sweden and who speak really good and understandable English get English subtitles even though they speak good English even though there countries first language is Swedish. I have been to Sweden and I did understand every Swedish person who spoke to me in English, as clear and understandable plus they are absolutely lovely and welcoming people who i have a lot of respect for. Stockholm is my favourite city in the world and I have been to many countries in my life. BRITISH SABATON FAN 💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🤝🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Some people like subtitles so they can confirm what they hear mate. I certainly like them if I'm taking notes. Sometimes pronunciations are different. Scousers and Cornish are sometimes difficult to understand, and other accents too, considering differences in slang. Question, can I complain if you can't understand my old Boss's Alabama accent between the accent and the slang?

    • @georginad7394
      @georginad7394 Před 8 měsíci +3

I can't speak for this wonderful lady's reason, but there are many reasons someone might choose to use subtitles even if the audio is in the same language. For example, a person could be hard of hearing or struggle with accents, or their brain is just wired to retain visual information better than audio. It might not even be for their own benefit but put there for their viewers who might need them.
Personally I have never had a problem understanding any of the Sabaton members in any of their songs or the sabaton history episodes, yet the first time I heard 'Christmas truce' I thought I heard "then all the candles went silent", I instantly knew I'd misheard but I wasted the next several lines trying to work out the correct lyrics by which point I had to restart because I'd missed the next lines. If I'd had subtitles on I would have read the correct word, accepted it and kept going.
Then again, I'm also one of those people who hear "There's a bathroom on the right" instead of the correct "There's a bad moon on the rise", among other interesting lyrical miss-hears. All this despite being born and raised in England and it being my sole fluent language.
Now people using subtitles when watching a LYRIC video, I have never understood. Even then though I have never thought it disrespectful, merely weird.

I have an issue with the lyrics' sound because I hear (almost only) the vowels - not the consonants, right?
