Hey all! Another video on the weapons of Monster Hunter Frontier. Next up is the Great Sword, the first weapon that was in the entire MMO from start to finish.
Frontier's GS had some really interesting changes, and was one of my main weapons for a lot of G Rank. Would love to see more of this in future mainline games. - Hry
and now the extreme style sprint might be in mainline now
I love how in frontier, they give you weapon with 4000 raw damage, 2000 armor defense, 20 armor skills, OP weapon moves, and yet the monsters still has a million ways to mess you up
Not really....you cant slay monsters fast but you can still avoid damage pretty much the entire hunt if you learned the parry.
EX Great Sword was nice, but Dual Blades were like a grand gourmet feast for the eyes. That and the Hammer. Fucking. _LOVE._ the somersault slam animation. That weapon was *made* for it
Now we have Sunbreak GS counter back, is nice and cool to see this now in mainline
Neat and informative
It was great to see how different great sword played in Frontier to what it currently is at now. Being that Frontier is no longer available, this video was great for showing off part of its mechanics

Damn I've been playing frontier lately and I tried out GS but eventually dropped it because I didn't know how to use that insane move, thank you for telling me that you can do it after 3 parries I will surely abuse it so much now xd

Such a shame I never got to play Frontier. I want a parry Greatsword which allows you to run and split space-time in two with a level 4 charge. Good video Cera ! It's nice to listen to you talk about Monster Hunter while doing chores. 😄

seeing this has me seriously considering getting this game. it looks so stupid fun. ive only played world and rise plus their dlc expansion but this looks over the top my type of MH

id like to point out 1 inaccuracy being the charge attack was added in gen 2 not 1
Love to see styles in mainline games like frontier that changes the move set instead of just adding in some wacky gimmick like gen did
There is a mainline (portable series is part of the mainline) game with styles its Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, its also on the Nintendo Switch and the servers are still online.^^

Hey Cera Cymmetry. Any chance you will be making videos on the other weapons of Frontiers? You're the only one I've seen who's made in-depth style explanations videos on the Frontier styles (in English).
Personally I want to see what happened with Hammer and Hunting horn. And what happened with them to be just worse magnet spike/tonfa in all ways (or so I've heard) (excluding well. the magnet gun).
I'd also like to see what GL as it has the 3 shell types which can change the playstyle within the styles themselves. I mean look at GL in risebreak.
yes you can play all of them the same way but Normal likes to use their full burst combos. Long has the new psudo wyvern fire attack.
and wide has slaplancing and KO.
I can understand if it's to much work.

Well we have the parry again in Sunbreak. If you're charging any attack and parry you'll lead straight into true charge and it will be fully charged and ready to go. On top of that you get a damage boost from getting hit. Wake up hits with a small barrel bomb are insane seeing over 6k damage in one hit

blehhhh, theres already very little reason to use non-charge attacks with greatsword, charge attack up would just make that worse unless they nerfed them relative to the other attacks
Idk man. For Earth Style, the non-charge attacks are still useful.
