My first new car was this thing. Loved it! It was metallic blue, 1973. Paint faded in two years. Drove the wheels off of it. 85K miles. Traded it in. Had some Racing Beat parts on it. Much fun. Wish it looked like yours though which it never did!
I owned an RX2 in California in 1980 or so. I was driving it one night (ok, I was at the pub and had a few beers) and got out into the country a bit and decided to string out second gear before I went to 3rd. I couldn't believe what happened - at a certain rpm, it was as if it got fired out of a gun...I laughed out loud at my discovery! It was like Jekyl and Hyde!
Never understood why those simmons wheels are so popular. Apart from that it's great.
Last time I saw one of these it was in a junkyard - excuse me - recycling facility! Great video - thanks.

I like but my taste is the smaller old school Simmons in say 15 inch. But hey it's a rockin car and his workshop was like an operating theatre. Awesome

You call that old school i had a 1975 rx2 in 1984 peripheral port and the only road legal one on the road at that time. All these and you new comers may have the technology but no idea of what looks good.Your right the tires and rims look fucken stupid.

good one. old mate is a true rotorhead. consistent high 8's, that's pretty spastic for a 'street' car... some low key wheels and lose the pac sticker and heads would have no idea what they're sitting next to at the lights.

+Yucannt Hahvitt no in Australia Simmons wheels are synonymous with early rotaries I'm afraid. Simmons closed down actually a few years back and never made wheels bigger than 17 inch as far as I'm aware. Someone else bought the wheel design and started to make these wheels again probably in China and started to make them in stupid sizes also.
Personally I'm so over the Simmons wheels on early rotary's, it's overdone and cliche. So many nicer period wheels that would work well, I much prefer the JDM style for these but hey still a nice car.
I've seen it getting around in Five Dock (NSW) I think, at least looks like the same car, sounds good with the bridge port. Not a fan of stickers or wheels though, too much bling bling.
