I was wondering about this as well, because they took it easy on Bert for the most part too. But they literally said NOTHING to Tom, which this is not how comedy works it's unnatural especially for casual to have noticed this, that means that Tom's people expressly told them he didn't want to be part of the roast panel but will gladly do a small unfunny segment himself. This is a netflix production and I would imagine Tom has some decent pull over there with them producing most of his specials over the years and also Christina Ps as well (which always felt like they came as a package deal, because no offense if she wasn't with Tom she would have never had a special to begin with, youtube maybe but not on netflix at the height of the comedy streaming boom)

I think you kinda let a distain for woman comics get the best of you here. Nikki Glaser had an outstanding night, and that's not just my opinion - that's the overall opinion even amongst haters. I think going at her for her "overshare" is a bit much. Every single comic, except for maybe Seinfeld, overshare. It felt like you were just looking for an angle rather than looking at her material. If you had watched her other material, you'd know that Nikki is the real deal.
Tony brought the house down, Bart and Tom’s PowerPoint presentation was boring

I think Nikki's set was way ahead of Tony tbh. Some of his jokes were a bit predictable while only predictable joke of Nikki was the last one.

Not at all. Nikki was being so humble because she did everything other than admit she didnt write most of what her roast was. She was only there for the legs... she was a mouth piece for a table of writers... that needs to be called out. Her performance was GREAT... her comedy wasn't there... that's justified to call out.

And she has started giving credit to the people who wrote the better jokes. On one hand it's cool she's humble and cares about raising all ships with this tide... but she didn't write the jokes dude. It's not up for debate. She has written jokes for sure!!! But specifically for this roast... she did not write the majority of the content.

Before you write off Tony as just a roaster, go see him live. He’s a comic.
Shane hates roasts, and he had his producer Shawn Gardini write his roast set for Luis J. All of Shane's friends: Matt, James McCann, Chris O'Connor, Tommy Pope, Tim Butterly, Mike Rainey, etc., can all probably roast better than the majority of the roasters but they, like Shane, hate roasts. If you're going to dick ride for Shane, at least do it properly.
As an Eagles fan, Shane would have had plenty of jokes to troll Brady with

For some weird reason a lot of people think they can just decide who is and isn’t a stand up comedian. If you preform jokes on a stage and get paid for it you are a stand up comedian.
so i think when he says 'rate' him, it's a european expression, meaning to value. so he's just saying he doesn't enjoy him or highly value him as a stand-up.
It's not only that he is just known for Kill Tony, it's that he doesn't do anything except Kill Tony. It's been 4 years since his last hour was released and he isn't touring with a new one. At this point, he is a host with a background in standup.

What the hell are you talking about, you don't rate Tony Hinchcliffe as a stand up comedian? ..What does it take for you to "rate" someone as a stand up comedian then? Tony is one of the purist stand ups on the scene. That set on the Brady roast wasn't just some one off, it was great because Tony is one of the best in the game..

My favourite thing to come out of this roast was seeing a clip on CZcams of Hinchclife making a joke. For 0.3 seconds you saw mein fade laughing like a toddler in the background and from that, the entire comments section was hating on Schultz. *Chefs kiss*.

Netflix has to be engagement farming with the thome and bort clip. I'm legit surprised Tom cared so much about the Robert Kraft jokes when he should be more worried about people bringing up how he kisses his almost grown children on the lips for WAY too long. Nikki Glazer is most likely insecure about her meteoric rise in popularity because she didn't write any of her jokes at the roast, and now has to follow up the act with huge expectations she knows she cant live up to.

99% of comics are neurotic so roasting Nikki for that is just weird. All the comedians I respect (who understand roasting) said she absolutely killed, and she did. In fairness to Nikki, she has always been an oversharer, but she is also ridiculously funny, and has killed it in all the roasts she has been in. Her style of comedy really suits the format. She's a great joke writer.
