If the worst comes to the worst and we do get independence, Scotland will need to open its borders to get some skilled workers here to support itself.
The mess the SNP has made to the education system means schools are churning out generations of incapable thinkers and loafers.
Fortunately few people take the SNP cult seriously anymore.

Scotland also contributes several thousand miles of coastline compared to Yorkshires 90, and 462,000Km2 EEZ or 62% of UK`s total maritime area, as opposed to Yorkshires - zero.
Within this astonishing EEZ lies every drop of UK oil and supports 5 refineries in England.
Scotland also has by far the UK`s largest food and drink exports in Scotch Whisky and Salmon, ang given that we have the third largest GDP in UK, our taxes are being used to subsidise Yorkshire, and large swathes of England.

The problem for the SNP is they have nothing to offer their followers EXCEPT independence. They have shown that they are an incompetent lot and the majority of people in Scotland can now see through them, however, if they are to keep their almost cult following they have to wheel out the independence utopia every now and again. Swinney was hopeless as the SNP leader before and there is nothing to suggest his mealy mouthed, non-dynamic persona has changed. The problem for the SNP is they have had to go backwards twenty years as they are fishing in an incredibly barren talent pool.

How can the Scottish government fix those issues when their hands are tied and beholden to Westminster. The whole point of independence is so these issues can be tackled and fixed rather than having to play ball and be at the mercy of Westminster. NHS issues? That’s the Tories. Education? The Tories. Economy? The Tories. Scotland has some wiggle room, but not enough to make the changes they want to make. That is why he is prioritising independence.
Also, a leader can prioritise many things at once. He is not solely prioritising LGBT+ rights only. In his defence, the LGBT+ is huge. A significant portion of Scotland’s population is LGBT and in recent years their rights have come under threat. It’s good that he is offering reassurances so LGBT can continue living their lives with everyone else without feeling like they don’t belong.

What Scotland needs from him and isn't getting is a clear statement that the snp government will NOW follow the wishes of the silent majority and not the noisy, yet miniscule minority. I suspect he is playing the role of the captain of the Titanic and the people of Scotland will be the one's who suffer.

Here's a copy and paste of mine from another thread.
Yorkshire isn't in a `voluntary` union with England is it?
Scotland also contributes several thousand miles of coastline compared to Yorkshires 90, and 462,000Km2 EEZ or 62% of UK`s total maritime area, as opposed to Yorkshires - zero.
Within this astonishing EEZ lies every drop of UK oil and supports 5 refineries in England.
Scotland also has by far the UK`s largest food and drink exports in Scotch Whisky and Salmon, ang given that we have the third largest GDP in UK, our taxes are being used to subsidise Yorkshire, and large swathes of England.
      Glad to be of assistance...

Brexit showed why Scotland is constitutionally disadvantaged within the UK (if the many decades of tory governments in Westminster wasn't already a clue) but Brexit is also the reason we cant do independence now. We cant have the same border issues that NI and Ireland are going through, and Europe would not want a repeat of them. UK would need to rejoin Europe before its a possibility, and thats not happening any time soon.
