Royal Enfield really are going from strength to strength, they’ve taken motorcycling to a new level in my opinion by providing a range of bikes that are practical, sensible but above all, very appealing. Long may it continue.
A Refreshing Approach to Motorcycle Reviews” sets a new standard in the realm of motorcycle critiques. Departing from the conventional format of riding the bike while narrating its features, this review offers a fresh perspective by focusing on the bike itself and its intricate details.
From the onset, the presenter captivates the audience’s attention by taking a leisurely stroll around the Royal Enfield motorcycle, meticulously highlighting its design elements, build quality, and standout features. Viewers are treated to a comprehensive visual tour, allowing them to appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into creating this iconic machine.
What sets this review apart is the presenter’s decision not to start the motorcycle. While some may perceive this as a drawback, it actually enhances the viewing experience. By forgoing the typical engine revving and exhaust note commentary, the focus remains solely on the bike’s aesthetics and functionality, enabling viewers to form their own impressions without distractions.
Moreover, the presenter’s decision to sit on the motorcycle adds a personal touch to the review, allowing viewers to envision themselves in the rider’s seat and get a sense of the ergonomics and comfort level offered by the Royal Enfield.
In contrast to the often chaotic and adrenaline-fueled motorcycle reviews, this video adopts a more serene and introspective approach, akin to a connoisseur admiring a work of art. It’s a welcome departure from the norm, offering viewers a chance to truly immerse themselves in the world of motorcycles without the unnecessary theatrics.
I bought one, build quality is very impressive it’s a real step up from the existing RE line up, engine is a peach & the way it handles is excellent, Overall it’s been a breath of fresh air, I don’t miss my overpowered, overpriced behemoths one bit! It’s bought back the joy of riding for me. Looking forward to seeing aftermarket bits come out so I can personalise a bit. The pipes sound great, but I bet they’re heavy!
The Shotgun looks really nice but I'm more interested in the rumoured Classic 650!
I really like the options on the seat! Great idea! I think the bike looks fabulous & at a distance you can see the quality on her! Must book a test ride I think! Excellent video 👍🏻
Looking forward to seeing the first one someone modifies.
It's a great base, as you said, for customisation.
I hope you guys build a good exhaust system for this bike. I really like the standard exhaust with the pea shooters. But a free flowing system that mimics the standard system in looks would be of great interest to me.
I think if it is as successful as it looks like it might be, very shortly there will be many custom parts available, not only from RE, but many other suppliers ( TEC, S&S, Scorpion, Bonvent etc)
The standard exhausts are truly hideous, bulky, lumpy and long.
@@Ijusthopeitsquick okay, it's subjective. Not to your taste. Who cares.
Some people care, some don't. You like the exhaust, I don't. I'm not sure what you're trying to say. @@billcarson4566
Good review and comparison, thank you 👍
What a great upload!
I'm sure that these are brilliant motorcycles, and a game changer for Royal Enfield.
As much as they look beautiful, I'll always be a die hard bullet fan, of right old right hand shift type!
I must come down and visit your shop sometime.
With all your vast improvements, and rapid old fashioned customer service, you have did Royal Enfield really proud.
Well done, and long live Hitchcocks, the U.K.'s premiere parts supplier for Royal Enfield. 👍
A very attractive and cool looking motorcycle from a company that seems to be targeting motorcycle enthusiast and giving them Quality, finish and value for an incredible price. I have watched a number of reviews on Royal Enfield bikes. They are giving people a real motorcycle with outstanding longevity, a rarity in the world today that seems to only care about the $$ bottom line...It's a pleasure to see dedication to people than to deep pockets. God Bless you Royal Enfield.
Nice review of the Shotgun. It does indeed look like a good compromise between the SM and the INT. Will be interesting to see what sort of accessories/ modifications are produced for it.👍
Nice review, Sir! Thank you! I like the all black of the shotgun, have mixed feelings on the foot position. But don’t like the seat height. I’m 5’7” (in metric that’s … short!) so, 700mm (27”) suits me better. I think. Need to sit on one. Is this kinda like the Hunter in 650? I like shape of the SM better I think. Both are attractive to me. Other than “one of each,” how would you lean? 😁
I'd be quite interested in a single side exhaust system option for mine.
Man, it's so hard to decide, i want both
Great video. Appreciate the content. I’m not sure if the Shotgun is different enough from my modified Interceptor 650. My bike is under 200kgs so I think the Shotgun with another 45kgs has to feel heavy. Looks great though and agree the finish is easily up there now with the likes of Triumph.
What is that super snazzy exhaust on the Super Meteor?
Are you going to make a performance cam for this one?
Handsome bike
One detail I don't get about this bike is why did they need to use a shift linkage? It's just a silly pet peeve of mine but I think it would look and feel better to have the gearshifter comming directly out of the gearbox. It's not like they needed to reverse the shift pattern like on the Interceptor, or that the controls where placed further away like to the Super Meteor. The pegs are in the perfect position for it, in fact, it looks to me like they had to come up with some funny angles for the linkage to make it work. Might it be to make adjusting the shifter position easier? I know the Classic 350 is a pain when you have to adjust the shifter, having to loosen the left hand side subframe rail but still... Hope you don't mind this silly rant.
A neat exhaust like on the Norton 961 would be nice.
Im waiting for a 650 classic?
I love it (I have a Hunter currently), but I really do not like those pea shooter exhausts. I’m sure in time some after market silencers will be provided, but until then I’m not quite tempted enough.
Guys I think there might be a lot of interest in a kit to convert the super meteor forward foot controls to the same position as the Shotgun
...and raise the seat
I’d like to see 865 big bore kit on both of these bikes.
I like the look of this bike except for some small details. They wouldn't put me off buying one tho. I like the green colour scheme but take away the black band as it seems to break up symmetry to me. Secondly I'd prefer the engine casings and rocker cover to be matt black too. Seeing them both together is good for making a comparison. The forward controls look a bit awkward up against the Shotguns more central placing.
The forward controls of the Super Meteor may look awkward, but at 5'8", 30" inseam, I find it very comfortable. Once you get the shift lever and brake pedal adjusted properly (and the rear shocks).
I think the tripper is an unnecessary gimmick. The weight vs interceptor is a major draw back for me. It steals from the power to weight ratio, nimbleness and gas mileage. The demensions seem very close to the interceptor and classic 500 which is a plus. Other then the seat height I think getting a decent lightly used interceptor and modifying to get similar riding triangle would still cost less. Can you provide a good reason for the weight? Benefits of that weight?
I guess you are right, but that's exactly this bike you buy it make it you own chop it don't chop it leds .. no exahust pipes 😂. Re market them has custom bike for custom so yeah , custom it to your own taste . And for the weight i weight issue ,yes that is there but again the custom part comes up chop it up if you like 👍. Tripper is not bad, works fine ,in my friends hunter ( it takes a bit of phone battery tho , so yeah that's issue)
Yeah it is a real shame about the weight. What I'm basically after is a bike with the ergos of the Classic 350 but using the 650 engine. I think RE has gone too far in chunking this bike up unnecessarily. If there was a way to get the footpegs and tank of a Classic 350 on an Inty I'd be all over it.
Interceptor seating position make one look like they’re sitting in a bathtub having a warm soak. 😂
Why do you care so much about it if its a gimmick, remove and sell it plenty of takers ...
@@SJ_newit adds to the cost i doen't like the unbalanced look. If you take it off there is nothing to fill the hole. I guess you could find it down. Nothing to get worked up over. It's just an opinion. It's like hearing reviewers complain about gear indicator. Another unnecessary gimmick.
SM 650 with Back Seat Looks Awesome and SG 650 Without Seat Looks Awesome But Here is Just Opposite.
Think I’ll wait for the Hunter 450
That shotgun looks so damn nice, but I'm not taking 45 horsepower on the US highways.
I’d like to ride my one, but my vintage Triumph would get jealous.
Good bike but RE have put a lot of effort into a platform with only 47HP. Power isn't everything but we need to be seeing an extra 10-15 HP at least.
I said the same about my 180bhp RC8R....
Sir i have a Limited edition Royal Enfield classic 500cc bs4 Efi stalth black ⚫️ clor it's december 17 2019 last Indian 500cc bike it's very beautiful and cute macine but it's one sprak plug champion wr8dpp3pd sprak plug but the any sprak plug Eridium spark plug BPEPJ 6es Eridium spark plug not in India
I struggle to see the need for an Interceptor, a Meteor and now a Shotgun, there all a bit of a muchness. Personally i don't get on with the feet forward lark and find the Interceptor much more of a modern retro than this Shotgun, so what's its point.
Test ride and select? May be the point
Be good if you told us how much they are even a ballpark figure.
Full metal jacket
Mileage 10 9r5kmpl
Not 'Showa'… Endurance... Indian company.
It's Showa, not Endurance. The Shotgun 650, Super Meteor 650 and Himalayan 450 have Showa forks. The rest of the Royal Enfield models have Endurance forks.
You can put a silk hat on a pig... But it's Still Today's Royal Enfield...🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Needs a bigger engine. If I didn't already own (and know) a 900 and 1300 bike I'd be interested in ths (very pretty) rehash. If they made a 1000cc plus V twin (like from the past), then I'd be very interested. 1920s, 1950s/60s or 'merican shotgun styling.
@@dogshome7110 The dealer here in Arizona pulled me aside, told me if you're going to use Royal Enfield for a daily Rider, I don't want to sell it to you... This is the Dealer... And what does that tell you... Thanks for responding 👍👍👍
If you don't like RE's i guess your only purpose here is to make foolish comments.
@@preppy890 when the dealer tells you not to buy one for daily use why the hell would you? It's not a matter of liking them or not... It's a matter of dependability...
@dwightbernheimer331 never had a problem with mine. People always say buy a Honda, shocked when mine broke down at under 400 miles. Its just luck of the draw.
