Who knew Bricktop from Snatch was the lead engineer for Triumph?
😂😂😂😂😂
Careful...... He’ll cut your f**king Jacobs off. 🤣
Don’t stop him whilst he’s being interviewed.
Goody goody gumdrops 😂
Brilliant haha
"The last of this motorcycle" I'm not an aggressive person but if I ever see this man I will give him a good dressing down. The Daytona is what made me interested in modern Triumphs and to discontinue it is hersey.
Did he really say that? Must have missed it.Really dumb if they don't continue the Daytona. It's an iconic bike for Triumph.
I'd be fine with it only if they dropped a 1050cc or 1100cc triple and ran it in wsbk. I keep dreaming of it anyway, for longer than I care to admit
@@MrBlurgon 1:33 he said something like that lol
It's amazing what throwing the term "moto2" on the front of a bike can do. Most people i've seen seem to think this is comparable to the hp4 race
The original 675 with the undersea exhaust looks 10 times better and is it really worth the extra 90cc for that money
See the problem is : They don't make it like them anymore son.
I love that sound from the Triple, you can hear a Triumph passing by at the street! I love it...
Bone stock Daytona 675R is one of the best handling bikes I've ever ridden on track. Front end felt so planted and secure. If this is just like that, but with more power, it will be very sweet.
I love the idea of this but the reality doesn’t quite live up to the dream. Also hate the look of the exhaust.
This is the ONLY channel that is actually asking good questions unlike every other journalist out there. Cheers!
Anyone else struggle to get excited about super exclusive bikes with tiny numbers made? It gets a big ol' shoulder shrug from me.
Patrick lol you’re the type of riders I love to pass on a corner in my ninja 300cc
@@agentmartagentmart9122 What does that even mean? That's a weird assumption to make.
@@agentmartagentmart9122 And you're the type of dickhead nobody likes.
I’m disappointed, was expecting pretty much the moto 2 bike which looks awesome, stick led lights on it, road tyres and good to go. Think they’ve played it a bit safe and boring with this bike.
Whats so boring about the bike 😂
Looks wise conservative and boring and old fashioned. The previous looking Daytona is a lovely looking bike but time moves on, they’ve just stuck to the old formula.I would personally choose an R6 over this. All subjective of course but was expecting something that looked closer to the moto 2 bike which is achievable with plenty of more exciting looking road bikes on the market.
You’re gonna tell me you’ve ordered one now aren’t you 🤣
@@masterofdisaster9194 new R6 sucks. If the Triump aint broke why fix it
@@xParoxysm - They stopped making the 675 +13 model because it wasn't selling well.
So it was broken.
Well actually the super sport market in general went out of fashion. The 675R is still the best bike I’ve ridden
Best reveal video, everything else has been awkward to watch, but this is top notch lads
I have to say, that looks so much nicer in this video than in the press images, that frame looks lush. This is gonna be quite a weapon! :-)
The last Daytona... Incoming new 1000cc triple 🤣
Fingers crossed and hopefully they don't just make a handful of them like they have with this.
Yes a v3 triple imagine
That's the dream
So many of the people that bought this one would be pissed
Yea why is the 1050 triple in the speed triple not going in a supersport? :D
Street Triple is perfect bike and I am saving for it, but this Daytona really looks like a bike to more monetize Moto2 project without any more investment into it. Also I don't like how he basically didn't answer a single question.
Finally a Daytona on your channel. Looking forward to watching this one.
New Moto 2 derived engine and 130 hp.
The old Daytona slightly tuned makes 130hp.
MV Agusta 675cc makes 133 hp
MV Agusta 798 cc makes 153hp
Suzuki GSX-R 750 (cc) makes 150 hp.
The "Moto 2" engine is disappointing.
They said that it makes 20% more power and torque than the old 675 Daytona...
Gsx 750 150hp??.. it's only 121 hp whp bonestock
Take of the cat and give it a straight through race pipe plus tune extra 10-20hp
The 128hp is at the crank on the older models. Maybe this 130 is at the wheel? Even so the bikes is lighter, has better components, new electrics so it will be better/faster.
Mike Edwards it’s up 7 bhp from the street triple rs, what makes you think that it can get more than 10 from a pipe and tune? lmao even at that number it puts it at moto2 spec numbers
This isn’t the same frame as the race bike and it’s the stock engine. Won’t feel anything like it. Different panels different everything. Not worth the money, it’s just a newer Daytona, with shiny bits to look good to old men with more money than sense 😂😆
So a newer Daytona is a bad thing 🤔
caspar no it’s a great bike but they sell it as a moto2 sorta thing
@@johnreynolds2055 yeah that's true
with how many are being made...… you'd be an idiot not to buy it.
with numbers like this they always end up selling for hundred of thousands later. These are proper investments.
Texarmageddon very true
So Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R sells in decent numbers but Triumph says this is probably the last Daytona.
What a shame!
It looks 10 years old already . Big letdown
Is it worth 8k more than a low milage used 675R? I doubt it.
Worth is determined by the user. Value is a better word.
no way. exactly the same BHP figure, 5nm more torque, carbon body work. massive let down imo.
Traction control is nice but the 675R never really struggled with traction. Tough sell. Beautiful bikes the lot of them
@@krisknave Power to weight ratio will be exceptional in this new 765 Daytona because of the carbon fiber body work. Along with a slight peak in power and torque.
@@shyamgopal3327 claimed dry weight is 166kg. My 04 b1h is 174kg. Not a massive difference considering mine has a metal tank and is 15 years old and wasn't 16 grand 😂, probably removed that 8kg from mine just changing the exhaust
Can't compare the two as one is shiny and new and mine isn't, however, the point is, is it worth double the price of the old model? Not really in my opinion. If you like carbon, buy a 675r,spend a grand on carbon bits and you'd still have change from 10k and will be just as quick if not quicker.
Very nice. Over priced though. 15k is new litre bike money.
People say it looks like the old Dytona, like that's a bad thing. Its still one of the best looking bikes ever.
Sounds like a cat coughing up a vacuum cleaner. Hopefully the mid size Aprilia will be more exciting.
I agree, sounds like shit
I'm a Triumph fan...great that the engines are powering Moto 2....but this bike is not special enough to match the hype surrounding it.
That guy should stick to engineering. Triumph shouldn't let him loose again! A brand new Panigale 959 can be had for 13k. Triumph are taking the piss. No wonder its 'limited' edition !
That intro was absolutely amazing! Great voiceover:)
Best interview so far 🤔 this is the last of the Daytona. But is it for superbikes at Triumph. Not to straight forward with the answer. Oh well I’ve got one on order anyway.
It is not the last of the daytona
Triumph is so freaking finicky with their unveiling new bikes. I’ll keep my 675r thanks but the 764 is way to limited and expensive for the track day enthusiast rider to buy one of these to only throw a set of fiberglass fairings on it. carbon fiber is silly marketing scheme.
What an awesome exhaust sound!
I love the small and nimble triples from Triumph but it feels as Triumph just dont give the new Daytona enough effort as it is basically the same old Daytona with a massaged st3 765 engine. Why not just try to drop the weight or design a new frame but with the same geo instead of releasing the same thing and then bullshit about the D675 being so good so why change it...
Plus you would think for $15K they could throw in some LED Headlights rather than the nostalgic filament bulbs...
Kinda true!
I was hoping it was really a whole new thing. Like the all new BMW S1000RR is totally revamped as well.
Never really liked the front with the headlights assembly, thought it could look much meaner than that!
A facelift starts with the face!
A new frame for 1600 bike run? You are mental.
Shouldn't have made it such a limited run to begin with. The 'Daytona' deserved a proper send off.
The Triumph Guy Has more Smarm than Mr Mc Smarm of Smarmsville ARizona
About Time as well 😎👍
Keeping my order in! Sexy 765
common point with the moto2 version : 0
I can really see the middleweight supersport segment gaining more traction in the near future, with the original gsxr750 being appreciated and with the large sales of panigale 899's and 959's speaking volumes, i'm hoping for a revamp into the 750cc market, fingers crossed for a new gsxr 750 🤞
They should release a basic version for £8-9k with painted carbon effect flairs. And powder coated frame. It could have basic brakes too and it would still sell.
Love 44 teeth and its creators, that was a difficult interview, tell me about the engin....its a 765 that was street then race now street, thanks for the insight. Not a very knowledgeable chap that..
Cor you boys get all the good gigs!
That’s just about one of the most beautiful bikes I’ve ever seen.
Was really excited about this when the engine was being developed but disappointed with the limited run and cost
My thoughts too - just seems like a marketing gimmick now. And who cares? You're never going to ride/own one because they've already been bought up by rich collectors. Poor show Triumph👎
Great to see the new content! More please!
£15765 for this or £15290 for an S1000RR I know what I would buy.........
The 675 produced 128hp and this too produces 128hp. Where did the extra displacement go? The Zx6r produces 132 hp with 165cc less
Looks like a 2001 R6
I wonder how quickly this bike would be forgotten if KTM decided to make a RC790, with a modified engine and a 11,000 RPM redline.
Awesome!!
Meanwhile I'm still hoping for a new GSXR-750 to be announced...
JuventinoNedved8 exactly what i was thinking 🤔 would love a GSXR 750
Yawn. This is not the moto2 bike promised. Vague information from Mr Charisma Vacuum.
Little updates after all... No new chassi no look changes no electronic changes Moto2 down tuned changed motor. Better spending the extra pounds on liter bike
Lol. Charisma vacuum is so right.
Luís Aguiar Or pimping up something else.
@David Miatke that depends the rider the road the purpose...
This and a new SRAD750, a VFR750, ZX7R etc.... oh man the good old days... let it relive!!!!
Cancelled my preorder for this as it looked so disappointing
I pre ordered one the next working day after they were announced. Can't wait for it to arrive over here in New Zealand.
Love the sly dig “some people will says it’s the same old Daytona” 😂
Wish they kept the moto2 oval intake and changed the headlights
It's nice to see Triumph in Moto2. I wonder if they will join MotoGP one day...
Gorgeous!
Fingers crossed for a production litre bike from them then! 🤞🏼
Do like this bike but I definitely think they should have done something with the front end styling especially. Let’s be honest half the reason you buy a bike is because it looks cool 😎
Yep agreed, I think it would t of taken much to add led lights to update it.
I like the poster background. I guess riding it was not possible yet.
Looks dated
Boring Color.
glad they did it....especially after they said they wouldn't
They never said they wouldn't. Only if there was enough interest
I'm gutted! They had an opportunity to produce something really special but this seems very ordinary.
In this commercial world there is always such a push for new-ness/new versions. Fair play to triumph for saying they tried changing the chassis and found the original Datona set up was the best...
765 people are going to be the envy of us all.
Seen it in the flesh at Silverstone and it attracted a crowd. I thought it looked really nice.
Stuart must be fun at parties ... props Statham , you tried your best with him👍
So beyond having a moto 2 sticker on it, its nothing like the moto 2 bike? Yamaha should write M1 on the next R6 lol. Shame they are binning the Daytona they were always brilliant bikes and imho it deserved a better send off than this.
"How different are the gears compared to the Street Triple?" "Well we've had to adjust the gearing and it's a new gearbox and...yeah it's new" Jesus Christ, I know very little about gearboxes and even I could have given an identical or better answer. Strong response from Triumph's Chief Engineer lol...not. Another overpriced under-performing bike based on the competition. Standard Triumph.
Bike has look amazing since 2006
Well if it’s the same power output it better weigh as much as a crisp packet for £15k
Nice bike, pity it's so bloody expensive. Here's hoping that the interest shown in the bike would encourage Triumph to consider a "cooking" version without the silly carbon fibre and with less bling suspension. Oh yeah, not too fond of the paint scheme and colours on the display bike. Still , it's a triple with 128hp in a great chassis and a motor that's had some serious development thrown at it . I'd have one of these over a V4 Pani or R1M, money aside!
Was like interviewing a politician there, poor Fagan
Bloody hell Sue Perkins was giving me ASMR at the beginning ! Great videos fellas
I own a 2016 675r to me the biggest advancement here for this bike is the fly by wire. Now electronics can be added to it if one desires. I do like the fact that an autoblipper was added as well. I do wonder does the arrow exhaust come with it? Is this 2019 or 2020.
Honestly a bit... lack lustre... I’m disappointed.
They just evolved some existing stuff, paid for a moto2 badge and added a carbon fibre body kit.
For the same money you could buy something cheaper and spend the balance pimping it up.
All this "development" talk is basically nonsense speak for "it's a street triple RS with a fairing and clip ons" then they bikes the price up for monies.
This has been a major let down.
Real beast is back🙌
130ps? seriously? This thing is only hitting 15 year old 600cc power numbers? I was really expecting a lot more from an exotic bike.
There's no stock 600 with anything over 110hp. This has 129.
@@blue03r6 lol ok, go look up some performance #'s. Most 05 and up bikes are pushing 130+ crank, which I can only assume is what they're talking about here, since they never said wheel.
@@ajsmotolife5641 ok yeah if that's what they mean you're right
Triumph is the new engine supplier ending the CBR600RR engine's service to Moto2.
Huge shame it hasn't updated the looks. And the engine has absolutely no relation to the Moto2 bike. Kind of mis-sold really :-(. The HP output isnt amazing for the size engine considering you can get 150bhp+ out ot the 800 F3. On the plus side, i saw it in person at silverstone and the goodies on it do make it look nice, like they'd sprinkled glitter on a turd.
You saying the 675 was a turd? 🤔
@Niclas Danielsson I agree, the new st3-765 feels exactly like the old d675, it even has the same awesome air intake sound as the old d675. When I rode the new st3 765 I thought I would have an engine characteristic more akin to Mt09 but it was exactly like the old d675, through and through. They went up in displacement just to combat stricter regulations. Just like you say this new Daytona is indeed a missed opportunity.
We have one of these amazing machines can't wait to ride it soon
LOVED the Moto race bike, and this one looks good
Liked it on the sound of first 30secs!
That poor Triumph guy, I've seen him in about 20 of these videos. He must be so fed up being asked the same questions lol. Nice bike & I'm sure it'll be an absolute weapon but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a new GSXR750. 🤞
Has Fagan got a license for those guns???
No point in reving the engine at the start, you can even hear the exhaust over the cam gears whine ! 🤪
When you listen to moto2 they aren't a patch on 250cc two strokes and at the moment one make engines and nearly every bike use kalex chassis it's a one make series in effect
After all this time that’s all they come up with 😂
Sounds like Triumph is on the verge of introducing a completely new sports bike. INTERESTING.....
If I might add my opinion, it's just a fancier 675 R with the 765 engine. Slightly better suspension and brakes and carbon fairing. THAT'S IT. Oh, and all yours for only €17500, what a bargain of a bike.
That price comes without the courtesy of a reach around.
Engine sounds cool but the looks of this bike don’t do it for me. I don’t know why they don’t change it up a bit, triumph are stuck in the past
I asked on the Saturday at Silverstone and they said they had all been sold out in the UK. Must have done pre orders. Kinda makes the whole launch and stating the magic '765' price pretty pointless.......
None Given Ehhh... Its great PR for Triumph
I'm sure it's incredible to ride but for me it just looks dated, if this came out in 2008 I'd think wow that's stunning but in 2019 that design just looks old.
"Street Triple RS is very much a sportsbike" - no, it's not. It's a street bike.
they said sports bike not a racebike
looks exactly like my 2020 rs but with the faring's and seating position I didnt want
They've triumphed!
Man, I want one so bad.
Fagan needs to "Somehow" and Buy this, and then the "Showdown of all Showdowns" against Chris on the RR Race, on a closed Circuit........Watch the views go astronomical!
i love my moto2 - handles wonderfully!!!!
Everyone: we want a daytona 765 it'd be amazing and I'd buy one!
Also everyone: it looks just like a daytona 675 not worth the money!
John B to be fair they could have changed the front a bit
@@gelul12 You can't change bodywork without a lot of expensive rehomologation work in the USA. All we ever heard was bring back the Daytona and when Triumph do it everyone pisses their pants.
paulaus exactly, plus tooling costs etc
Wanted a new daytona 765. Not a new bike that looks like an old bike. Didnt even like the looks of the latest one. We are happy enough at the chassis staying the same but the looks needed facelifted and updated. Same with the tech.
since this is a limited edition i'm guessing the price is though the roof, so...are they really saying they couldn't squeeze fkn LED headlights in this limited edition bike that's coming out in 2019/20? ...fkn hell lol
pxK of course not don't be so ridiculous they need to maximise profits on an already overpriced bike
Insane price for a 765cc bike. Street triple rs costs about 12000 euros and this costs about 17000. As much as I like Triumph motorcycles, they have failed very hard in design and price factors. With that price you can almost get a 1000cc japanese litre bike or pay a little bit more for a bmw s1000rr.
