I watch this channel alot because im at my wits end. I pray so hard daily and yet i lost my job and about to lose my place. I have no family and even the churches has turned me down. (I live in a very small rural town in NC) and i watch these videos for motivation because im a hardcore follower of Christ.. I dont know what else to do and my faith is fading.. No one to talk to is making this hard as well..

My life is similar to yours. We have to hold on to our faith in God, at all costs. Like Jacob, we have to be broken, delivered then blessed. "Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen you, I will help you. I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness ". Isaiah 41:10. I have gone through 7 years of trials. I lost everything I ever worked for in my life including my 2 kitties, Tinkerbell & Venus. I had nowhere to live & no one to help me. No one! ... But somehow God saw me through to this point. I have just been betrayed by 2 people that I love greatly in my life & I, too am alone (& ill), but I have to keep trusting God. He has a plan for us. Hold on Ace. I understand what you are going through. It's like a wilderness, a hollow tunnel. But there will be some light at the end of that tunnel. It is darkest before the dawn. Usually when i think about how hard things are, i think about Job and what he went through but this has been extremely tough. Especially when the deadline to lose my place is literally days away. I spent all day yesterday looking for jobs and help and even churches were turning me away. Its really hard. And not having anyone to talk to makes it even harder. I really appreciate you guys.

I don’t know a lot about the Bible, thanks to your channel I learn more and am hungry to learn about the works of God. This video reminded me of when Paul said “when i am weak, then I am powerful”. Like Jacob, He also saw God in a vision, even had a type of disability he called “thorn in the flesh”. I wonder, did god give him this thorn? Was it as a result of seeing the third heaven? I would love to see your take on Paul’s encounter with the Lord, him being taken up into the third heaven…

Greetings to you. Where does it say Jacob wrestled with an angEL? And did the angEL, as the narrator says, that Jacob wrestled with, rename Jacob to IsraEL? And was it the angEL Appearing as a physical man, wings or not, that touched Jacobs thigh then? And did then Jacob say i have seen GOD face to face, but it was really an angEL's face he saw up close and Personal? There is no mention that the man was an angEL, that Jacob wrestled with. If it had been an angEL, the text would surELy say so wouldn't it? After all, he saw angEL's in the beginning of the chapter and recognised them as such, Saying " This is GODs Host. " So are we supposed to take it metaphorically then, the famous quote, " Jacob wrestled with GOD, " but really it was an angEL? The Picture shown, and the words the narrator says, seem to suggest that an AngEL of The Lord, with wings, was the MAN that wrestled with Jacob. If the Man Jacob wrestled with, had wings, like in the Image shown, would Jacob not have Instantly known it was an angEL of GOD, or have known even if he did not have wings? Perhaps he may have said, I wrestled an angEL of the Lord, and have seen the face of the angEL, because he had already seen AngELs and recognised them as such. Yet the Man is rELuctant to say who He is for some reason, if it was an angEL, would He not have said, I am GabriEL, or MichaEL, or RaphaEL, or I am the AngEL of The Lord? Jacob is clearly asking the Man.
I have recently used this story to combat a man that rejects Jesus Christ, and says GOD is not a man, and therefore Christians are Idolatrous, worshipping a man. He that is our GOD in the Flesh, appearing to us as a Man, the Son of Man. And I have pointed out these things to prove that GOD can appear as a Man. As I have said. There is no mention that Jacob wrestled an angEL, that is pure Conjecture, and in reality destroys the whole statement that " Jacob wrestled with GOD. " The statement "For i have seen GOD face to face " is saying it was GOD in the form of a Man, and that Man, must be Jesus, or is there another Man that GOD appeared in the flesh as, to IsraEL? Foreshadowing is All through the Bible, and is not this, one of those Remarkable Instances, where a Man whom GOD is in wrestles IsraEL in later years? Did not GOD as Jesus wrestle with The Nation of IsraEL, later on in Jerusalem in the flesh of a Man?
The Story of the physical encounter is clear, it is stated earlier on that Jacob had seen angELs, and remarks that " This is GODs Host. " If you notice Jacob says " i will not let thee go, except thou Bless me. " Then THE MAN says to Jacob, " what is thy name? " And he said, Jacob. " And then the Physical MAN says to Jacob... " Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but IsraEL: Then Jacob asks The Man His name, By saying " TELl me I PRAY THEE, thy name. " And the MAN said, " Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And He Blessed him there. " Is it not almost as though Jacob should know Him? And the Man says something very similar to what Jesus said to His disciple when one asked Him, what the father looks like. John 14:9 " Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? If it was GOD speaking through an angEL, would it not be like when GOD spoke to Abraham, through the angEL of The Lord? And it shown to be so in the text? Or when the angEL appeared to Mary, this seems different as though the Man HimsELf is speaking directly to Jacob, and not using an angEL to do so.
In my Humble opinion, that is a Physical Encounter with GOD in the flesh of a Man, not an angEL, The Son of Man, Known as Yeshua, Jesus Christ. Jacob now IsraEL called the name of the place PeniEL: " for I have seen GOD face to face, and my life is Preserved. " Preserved also means Saved. And who is that Saviour? EmmanuEL ( GOD with us. )

I bELieve it was GOD in The Flesh that wrestled IsraEL, as Jesus came to IsraEL a thousand and so many hundreds of years later, in the Flesh. The story when read in the Bible, King James Version, does not mention an angEL, or a messenger, only at the beginning of the chapter, and Jacob recognises them right away, so would he not have said, i wrestled an angEL of the Lord, but he did not say that, he was curious who the physical Man was. And when Jacob asked Him, the Man replied in a manner very similar as to what Jesus did to Philip, John 14:9 " Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?
But in the KJV of the foreword in the commentators interpretation of the words, before the chapter, it says that it is a messenger of GOD that Jacob wrestles with, yet i see no messenger or angEL mentioned in the struggle with Jacob, just a Man, that is rELuctant to give His name, but He has the power to Bless and rename Jacob to IsraEL. I bELieve it is being misinterpreted, and i am not Impressed, and the Antichrists would be happy for it to be said that it was just an angEL or messenger so as to carry on calling Christians Man worshippers. So i have said what i had to say. This story as i have said in my previous post can be used to combat Antichrists, when they call us Idol worshippers, for worshipping a Man. Yet IsraEL himsELf had physical contact with a Man that he said of " I have seen GOD face to face. " But if people are willing to Interpret it their own way and add angELs with wings or messengers of GOD to the wrestling match, then they weaken the power of the story that is being told.
Aren't angELs super powerful? And if so, why did the Man have a problem with breaking free from Jacob, wouldn't an angEL if he wanted to go, just have pushed Jacob down to the ground and flown off? There is so much in the story that reflects a personal visit by GOD in the Flesh of a physical Man. And i know of only One Man that can be, that can bless and rename people, as the renaming of Simon bar Jonah to Peter. which is yet another foreshadowing, that i could have mentioned but didn't, but do here. I bELieve Jesus is the Man that wrestled with Jacob renamed to IsraEL. The foreshadowing of a Man that has GOD in Him, struggling with IsraEL back then in Jacobs time, is a reflection of a Man that has GOD in Him struggling with IsraEL in the time of the visitation of Jesus when He visited IsraEL in His time.

@@Gaz512513 Hello Gaz. I'm not sure I follow the logic of your argument. You claim Jacob could not have wrestled an angel as he had seen angels previously and referred to them as "God's host" and yet at Peniel he said: "I have seen God face-to-face." I think this is a false equivalency because a 'Host' is never just one, and Jacob only wrestled one entity at Peniel.
Also, (And I concede I may simply have misunderstood you here) you keep mentioning "Angels with wings", as if every time an angel delivers a message to humans he manifests wings, and no wings = Jesus Christ?
There are no "wings" mentioned in the account of Genesis 18 & 19 and in those there were 3 angels, not one. So who are these other non-winged individuals?
I'm not saying that it couldn't have been the pre-human Jesus at Peniel, or who visited Manoah in Judges 13, (A similar account in certain ways). Jesus could have even been one of the ones who visited Abraham and Lot. But the Bible doesn't explicitly say so one way or the other.
My biggest problem however is in your use of the expression "God in the Flesh" in referring to Jesus. Jesus is God's Son, and that is all. Not God. Numerous times in the NT we are told this (Or words to that effect). By Gabriel (Luke 1:35), by Demons (Mark 3:11), by the Disciples (Matthew 14:33; 16:16; John 1:49), by Mark (Mark 1:1), by the Father at Jesus' baptism and the transfiguration, and by Jesus himself at John 10:36. This last example is significant. In John 10 the Pharisees had just accused Jesus of "Makest thyself God." (John 10:33 - KJV) BY YOUR OWN LOGIC ("...would He not have said, I am GabriEL, or MichaEL, or RaphaEL,...") Jesus had the perfect opportunity to declare his divinity, yet what did he do? He replied (Paraphrazing) 'I never said that. I said I was God's Son'.
Who is Raphael, by the way? Never come across that name in the Bible. Hope you are not adding to scripture😂

I never understood why this topic was so hard for people to comprehend. First off it was not God it was the Angel of the Lord, he was in human form and wrestled with jacob. He was not their to win but to bless jacob, this symbolizes how we're supposed to wrestle with God to receive our blessing, we're to remain persistent and consistent with God even through all of our troubles. The Angel gently touched jacobs side and disabled him like it was nothing at all, so there're no comparisons between angels and human beings. Be blessed.
No one can wrestle with a spirit (John 4:24). It was an ANGEL who had taken on a human form.
Angels do that so that humans can see them.
Even Jesus, after God resurrected him back to his angelic spirit form, had to take on different human forms to be seen.
That is why no one recognized Jesus until he spoke or did something that clicked a connection.

Jacob ddn't "steal" ANYTHING. Esau "sold" his birthright, and that was because he had contempt for that birthright, anx ANYTHING of the living God, including a contempt for his parents when he went off and married what God Himself had forbidden, and that was Canaanite wives. Thus we get a glimpse of why God said that He loved Jacob, but Esau He hated. Esau had NO regard forthe living God, norfof his own birthright. You have a twisted view of Jacob. There is a REASON that God said that He LOVED Jacob, and that He re-named him "Israel". Do your due diligence. i suspect you studies of Job and Jabez are just as "skewed".
