  • Replica guns are not capable of firing live or blank rounds but they make great movie props and some cool sounds for ASMR. Here's a closer look at the Denix rendition of the Smith & Wesson Schofield vs the Kolser rendition of the Colt 45 Single Action Army.

    That is an Extremely Bad Comparison between Denix and Kolser.
    You Deliberately chose 2 different models.
    You Deliberately chose a Denix Product that Denix Falsely Advertises as a Smith&Wesson No.3 Schofield when In Fact it is a very bad replica of Smith&Wesson No.3 American clearly Obvious by the style of rear sight and the barrel lock
    You Deliberately Chose theeprst ever None Fireing Denix Smith&Wesson.
    To compare with a Kolser Cap Fireing 2 tone Brass and nickle Repluca Colt Single Action Army with 4 3/4 inch Barrel..
    WHY did you Refuse to compare the Denix Cap Firing 2 tone brass and nickle Colt Single Action Army 4 3/4 inch barrel
    With the Kolser Cap Firing 2 tone brass and nickle Colt Single Action Army ?
    Is it because they are infact identical in weight shape balance colour materials used to make it how it's made quality of workmanship and function as well proven to be produced at the same factory sold under 2 different names for marketing purposes ( as many airguns and airsoft guns are. Umarex kwc kjw and many others built by 1 factory in this case located in tiwan branded all built the same but branded different on the gin and packaging for marketing purposes)
    I have identical colts just like yours in this video bought same time from same source only packaged slightly differant one 20 buck more then the other but items 100 percent identical other then one denix one kolser.

      I own the Schofield from Uberti which is nickle plated. A gun can last forever with the proper owner and care. When I received it I went over it with a fine tooth comb. It is simply a work of art. I like nickle plated. Stainless steel is buy far the best. Blueing comes in third. But ask any gun dealer and there is a different opinion. I also own the Ruger Vaquero in SS. Love them both.

    So much I want to say about the terrible handling of the Schofield! (Can’t even finish watching past the spinning of the cylinderđŸ€Šâ€â™‚ïž) I mean... Are you deliberately trying to break the functionality of the replica?! (Almost as if a primate was mishandling it!) Still... It’s not my hard earned cash spent on the piece. đŸ€Šâ€â™‚ïž

    @ACEZL Pƙed 5 lety +6

    For anyone els that owns the peacemaker short medium long or foot long barrel, is the trigger a bit loose before you cock the first stage? For mine it wiggles like a loose tooth. Then cocking makes it stiff. Normal?? I bought 3 denix replicas and fake/dummy bullets.
    1851 Navy colt army
    1865 Smith&Wesson Scholfield
    1875 colt cattleman peacemaker 4,75' barrel
    Navy colt the trigger broke I got replacement and sent old broken one back.
    The Scholfield's lever thing to open to
    access cylinder/drum, a piece fell out on its own, and that lever and spring fell out. I asked my distributor they said they are looking into it but I really hope I can replace this one too! By the way before the first cock stage the hammer is loose about a centimetre. Spring issue???
    Now the peace maker Im not sure but trigger is wiggly. Potential in breaking (shrugs shoulders)
    No one likes poor quality.
    #Denix on behalf of all Denix employees distributors etc. Your products are awesome but please Wed like more durability.

    The denix Scholfield replica I have had a bit of a issue with cocking. The hammer moves loosely on its own before the first click. As if there is no spring??? . Anyone with the same issue???

    • @runlarryrun77
      @runlarryrun77 Pƙed 5 lety +3

      Hi I don't have that model but I do have a few Denix replicas & used to work in a shop that sold such things so I got to know a bit about how they work inside & such. As far as I know all Denix old west six guns are more or less the same inside, so the issue you're having sounds related to the long spring that sits underneath the grip handle. Is there any spring tension at all to the hammer pull or is it just the first stage that's loose?
      Sounds as though the hammer isn't engaging with the spring in the grip for some reason. On some Denix old west guns you can see the underside of the hammer if you take off the grips, bad luck is that the Schofield isn't one of those. Just going from the video it looks like there might be two side covers, one for the hammer spring & one for the trigger assembly? If that's the case you might be able to get in without ejecting the finer bits of mechanism, but as the Schofield is one of the few Denix six guns I've not handled I can't promise that. With all of the other Denix six guns there's just a single side plate holding things in & it can get tricky if you have to go in there.
      The trouble with Denix & most other replicas too for that matter, is that they're deliberately made so they can't be stripped easliy. If you need to take them apart for whatever reason then in order to get them back together you need to build a jig to hold all the parts in place & even then you have to be prepared to have a few goes & fiddle around with things until they finally click back into place.
      Some Denix guns function perfectly for years, some just suddenly develop faults like it sound like yours has. Denix do describe them more as "functional ornaments" rather than replicas that can be repeatedly & sometimes roughly handled.
      It's up to you if you want to go down the rabbit hole of disassembly. I guess it depends if you're willing to risk ending up with a load of fiddly parts & bits of gun on the desk in order to get the action back. I currently have an 1860 Denix Colt sitting in pieces, I'm pretty sure I can get it back together again, just not got round to it yet. Even though I've put more complicated mechanisms than that back together before I keep putting it off because it's so damn fiddly!
      Anyway, any questions let me know. I ain't one to comment then never reply & will help if I can!

    • @ACEZL
      @ACEZL Pƙed 5 lety +3

      runlarryrun77 hey no the first stage right before first click it is kind of loose. It is loose for like 1cm then clicks. And I've seen 1 or 2 other youtubers have similar feature/issue. I thought it's normal. And I'm worried to return it and I receive another one with a worse issue. Don't want to sound demanding but I just prefer good quality. Denix is awesome regardless.

    • @runlarryrun77
      @runlarryrun77 Pƙed 5 lety +2

      @@ACEZL Yeah Denix replicas are ok. A lot of people knock them but they're ok. I actually got a pistol today from their competitors Kolser & I'd have to say Kolser maybe have the edge in terms of quality, but Denix have more variety. Kolser only do Winchesters & types of Peacemaker so if it's really Schofields you have a thing for then I think Denix is the only option.
      I know what you mean about quality entirely. Denix prices don't break the bank but they're not exactly pennies either & you want it to work reliably. I get that.
      I guess you could contact the supplier & see what they suggest. I don't suppose by any chance it was from Denix UK? I've had contact with the people there a few times & they've always been helpful.

    • @ACEZL
      @ACEZL Pƙed 5 lety +1

      Do the denix revolvers also have a little bit wood chipped on the wooden handle/grip?? My cattlemen peacemaker has that.
      Not noticeable unless you really want perfection.

    • @runlarryrun77
      @runlarryrun77 Pƙed 5 lety

      @@ACEZL Not noticed any chips as such on the wooden gripped ones that I have. Other than being a bit flat at the bottom they're pretty well shaped & nicely finished. Grips can be where some replicas fall down tho, yeah. Something I didn't notice with the Kolser until I had one in my hands but is obvious now is that the wooden part of the grip is pretty blocky compared to an original, but as you say these things are verging on perfectionism. 20 mins with the Dremmel & one side is already nearly perfect so it's an easy fix.

My gun is great, I haven’t had a single problem with it yet, it’s only been one day though. It’s good quality and heavy, it also looks and feels very close to an actual colt 45. Also compared to the price of some other replicas and even an actual colt 45, $65 isn’t bad at all. With that being said, what do you mean by Denix being mediocre? Have you had problems with yours?
