Thank you for doing this Shaun, I found it very interesting. 😀👍 I bought my first reborn during the Covid lockdown. It helped with the feeling of loneliness. I continued collecting as I appreciate the artwork so much.
It is frustrating that the small percentage of crazies in the community is all that the general public wants to focus on. I started collecting in high school and they are fun and beautiful I like to role-play a little bit but I really don't do much of that anymore. I'm 21 right now and my reborn dolls are in storage mostly due to not having space. I was very baby hungry in high school but obviously, teen pregnancy is very dangerous and I had no way to care for a real child financially so returns were my compromise. Now I just think they are pretty and cute beautiful pieces of art. There is also something very comforting about holding a baby and my mom who can't have any more kids agrees with me it's very nice to cuddle a baby.

No one needs reborns they are simply a tool. They can be helpful they can be fun but they aren't a necessity.
