YEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!, same price and MIP display. Coros is listening to the customers.
I want cellular 😢
@@foetor i dont know if you are looking at the right direction here. These kind of watches are made for a different purpose. Maybe in the future they will add some more features, but that is not the case. At the moment there are better watches in the market that provide cellular fanctionality. Personally i prefer that they keep the watch simple only for what is made for.
I have a cellular Apple Watch and I turned Cell off a long time ago and only turn it on if I get stuck with a dead phone. It is such a battery drain when in low signal areas.
I have a Pace 2 and 3 years later it is still rock solid making it really hard to justify any new watch. Even though the tech junkie in me has fomo and would love this watch.
Agree! I am still rocking the pace 2👌
same here..PACE 2 Kipchoge edition, doing its job very well. And the latest updates have made it even better with new features.
@@nischal33 we have another one comin this May.
@@jes1910 which one? :)
@@tadejdanev5030 the may31st update
Great video Dave, I have the Vertix2 and I was excited when I opened the email from Coros. But when I looked at the specs I was disappointed. Colors are nice but on the specs sheet battery life is better on my old Vertix2. I understand they updated some inner things, gps and heart rate sensor but same display was a big let down. Thanks for your work and the videos. Sticking with the old Vertix2 for now.
Keep up the good work. Thanks for your reviews :)
I currently have the pace 3 which exceeds my needs in terms of watches. i love the updates that coros have been bringing to their entire product stack
Nice review, Dave, and glad they sent you all three. I like the Earth model the best...
Il y a plusieurs vidéos qui sortent en même temps sur les nouveautés, mais c'est toujours les tiennes que je regarde 👍
Thanks for the presentation of this new Coros watch, nice video again. To answer your question, I am gonna keep my garmin fenix 6 pro so far 😉
If it's the same size as the Vertix 2 then I very much fear I'll have to take a pass. I'm a small-wristed female and I can just about get away with the Vertix 1, but when I first looked at the specs of the Vertix 2 it seemed like it was wider across than my wrist, so I rather doubt I could wear it comfortably. It's a pity, because if the size were right I'd probably be very tempted to upgrade even though I still love my Vertix 1.
Kudos to Coros, BTW, for still sending all the updates to models as old as the original Vertix! Makes me feel less left out of the fancy new hardware. :)
Great review as always, thanks Dave.
Great review Dave, big improvements with heart monitoring,Coros is listening to it's sports fan's
Another great review. Thanks Dave. Good looking watch but my next watch will probably be a AWU 3, to try a more useful day to day smartwatch. I’ve had 4 years out of my fenix 6x pro, and it’s still going, so I’m hanging on for September.
I’m getting one!🎉 My original apex pro is just getting too old. So what better time to upgrade.
Bought an Apex Pro a few years ago and have loved it dearly. Really wanted to move in the Vertix line, but didnt want to purchase a 2 with the thoughts of a new model on its way. Definitely considering this model, looks gorgeous too.
Moving from Garmin 6X Pro to Vertix 2s. Joining the underdog for its battery life to last my miler race.
Thank you for reviewing these watches!
I really like those colors. I would take the moon version.
MIP display is still good enough imo.
But as you mentioned the competition is tough. Even a Garmin 7X (non pro) has more functionality at a lower price point when being in sale.
Nowadays flashlight should be a must with these kind of watches!
Great review, and love the shirt! So impressed by the new, extensive line up of shirts!
Garmin Fenix 6x still going strong so no need to upgrade yet but Coros is the plan when he time comes. Maybe when the fully new vertix 3 comes out
It looks like that the Garmin Fenix 6s seens to be your choice to go! Not hard to understand why. Cheers!
I'll wait for something lighter, like updated Apex 3 Pro (2S?) and a Coros bike computer for sure.
BTW, I cannot say Garmin is more polished. As a software engineer, I see Garmin platform very buggy and they don't care.
Hi, love the review. But I thanks I will wait for a New apex pro 2 ? If one is coming out soon?
Any News about that?
Thanks.
Think *(not thanks )
I think it wat time for a Vertix 3 rather than an S
Beautiful watch off course.
Can you change the watch face if you want with built in ones?
Perfect review! Thank you!
Yup, these watchfaces will also be available in the COROS app watchface library. So if you want a "moon" background on a Pace 3 for example you can do that.
Ooooo new COROS 😮
Still rocking the Fénix 6 Pro
Dave,
Thanks! A question on vertix 2s’s display. Is it as good as Garmin tactic 7 display?
Similar, the Tactix might have a slight advantage in terms of backlight brightness and contrast. The Vertix 2S backlight isn’t adjustable it’s set and can’t be dimmed or brightened in the settings.
@@ChaseTheSummit Thanks and appreciate Dave! The vertix 2 is simple difficult to read too dim, if vertix 2s same brightness is no good. Tactic’s brightness is great.
Thank you for all your reviews! I can’t choose between my Garmin epix pro and my garmin instinct 2x solar tactical. I see that you have a lot of smartwatches. How do you manage them? How they can coesist in daily life?
It's easy with Garmin since they use something called "TrueUp" to sync data between watches. So you can have multiple garmins and choose which to wear every day and the data will seamlessly merge with the other watches without an issue. It only becomes an issue with other brands though COROS is pretty good with this as well.
@@ChaseTheSummitthank you so much!!!!
@@ChaseTheSummitmaybe with the new model the trueup is automatically? Because I didn’t found in the app. 🤔
I bought the apex 2 pro a month ago or so and have a lot of pairing issues. I have to either remove the coros app from my phone or turn off my iPhone 15 to pair it again since the bluetooth connection won’t work. It constantly says that I need to either turn off the watch, the phone, bluetooth and keep the devices close to each other, even if they are side by side with no space in between. Super irritating. Considering to return it, which is a petty really 😐
I was going for a pace 3 but you may have upsold me a little bit 😅
Should have poped on an Amoled screen and called it vertix3 :) great review as always!
Dave, excellent as always. Coros's software is just lackluster. I like the minimal UI, but... many of the watch software features lack maturity (polish).
How do you think this watch compares to the polar grid x2 that recently came out?
They have a lot in common. The most notable differences are the display types... One being AMOLED on the Polar and the COROS being MIP and the other being battery life while COROS has significantly longer battery life in both standby and activity modes. The Polar ecosystem has a bit more to offer in terms of daily wellness while COROS focuses more on being a tool to track activities and training.
@@ChaseTheSummit does one do better with maps and navigation than the other one?
I think Pace 3 is the best sports watch deal on the market. It has everything you need and getting better with updates.
Isn’t Coros the one with a new way to use your iPhone during a workout? If they offered this watch in an AMOLED variant I’d be tempted to jump ship from the EPIX Garmin.
A big plus for Coros is that they do not have to endure the horrible look of the new Garmin app. ^^
Everyone is complaining about that!
What should I buy coros pace 3 or Garmin instinct 2x?
For running coros pace 3. For going to bathroom at midnight the instinct 2x because of the flashlight! 😎
My vertex 2 doesn’t have the pacer option in the running section how do I get it please?
You'd need to join the beta version, the links for that are on the COROS website in the Stories section
Shorter battery life than the Vertix 2? Miles off from the Suunto Vertical Ti or Enduro...what are we doing here?
To be fair, it's still a crazy amount of battery life.
@@ChaseTheSummit Not saying it isn't, users will just have to weigh whether updated internals are worth another $700.
But it's not my money :D
Hahaha darn. I was hoping the S was for small!
Does this mean there is an update to the Apex line coming soon?
Time will tell!
Glad it's not AMOLED. Sticking with my FR955. But if Garmin goes completely AMOLED, I'm out. I like watches but not ones that look like a phone on my wrist 👍😀
So the extra band is a good trade off for not getting the flight case which you said you would never use. Okay…
Cool watch though
Has anyone migrated from Garmin Fenix 6X to Coros Vertix, and can share your experience?
And can you also comment on screen brightness comparison? In all the videos I see there Coros looks brighter, but then the reviewer says it’s _dimmer_ in actual fact (only looks brighter on video); I’m confused this. I’m quite disappointed with how dim the Fenix is, so I def don’t want to go to something that’s dimmer. Thanks 🙏🏻
Good watch and upgrade but nothing that is a killer on the market. I wasn't planning to change my Apex 2 Pro anyway so no change on this point. I hope however that the original Vertix 2 will get a discount so that people looking for a watch might consider it. This release may also mean that the version 3 of Apex and Vertix are not around the corner yet at all (maybe in 2025 ?). Thank you for that product review !
Was really hoping it was 2S for small
Pourquoi la vertix 2s les vidéos me son pas encore en français
Oh i just noticed the greek tattoo! Nice mate
I like the look of the Coros2 and its features and the 2s also looks good but that screen is what puts me off, I understand getting better battery life, but to not add the option for a brighter screen is a dealbreaker for me. Shame.
I am going for gbd h2000...👍
Hope you like it!
Sticking with my Vertix 1 till it dies and then I’ll probably upgrade to the 2S
You might get ending with a 12S though.... lol
Love the shirt man.
Thanks! They're available in the store now! chasethesummit.com/products/rad-bod-dad-bod-tee
Maybe it’s just me and my brain, but the “Earth” model should have been named “Ocean”.
Nonetheless, seems like a nice upgrade to the Vertix 2.
I love the shirt! Where can I buy one?
Thanks! They’re brand new and available on my website! chasethesummit.com/products/rad-bod-dad-bod-tee
Thumbs up for wearing such a Dad shirt. I'm also sure you're wearing NB 990 shoes.
Ha! I make the shirts! chasethesummit.com/products/rad-bod-dad-bod-tee
No 990’s at this time but I still have many years of dad life ahead of me.
The old Vertix 2 on gray is looking better than these new ones. They just added colours and better hardware inside. For the white colour which should imitate the white Epix they forgot to add the AMOLED :)).
I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I think these new ones are slick!
@@ChaseTheSummit Man, if they were at least AMOLED. I choose Garmin 7 Pro at this price. Not speaking about a flashlight:)). Seems my Enduro 2 is still a long term investment regarding the new releases....and my lava Vertix 2 is still nicer and with longer battery.:D. Kinda' happy they didn't updated much....watches faces...seriously? :) . Nevertheless nice video:).
I love your shirt 😂.
chasethesummit.com/products/rad-bod-dad-bod-tee
No OLED, sorry. That watch isnt an Innovation. Im Dissapointed. But I have to order it. I love coros.
So it’s even bigger than the V2. LOL
To think when I saw the S I got my hopes up that it was a smaller version of the V2. But no, it’s actually a tad bigger. 😂
It's basically the same size. It got thicker by .2mm which is imperceivable to the eye. The V2S is also lighter by a couple of grams but impossible to notice.
@@ChaseTheSummit At least there’s that. Would’ve still loved to see a smaller version. One can dream.
Missed the mark by not doing AMOLED. With todays advancements the battery life is just as good with AMOLED as MIP and it’s what everyone else is doing because it’s what people want
I don't think we'll see AMOLED from COROS anytime soon. But, I could be wrong.
so they didn't even add a flashlight
Ha! Maybe in the next version?
Pretty much pretty much pretty much pretty much pretty much pretty much pretty much pretty much pretty much pretty much…
I don't think there's any reason for someone to go for the 2s just for two different ones, one of which was the slightly better GPS signal and the otherwise new heart rate sensor and to pay 700 💰 that's a lot of money no thanks
2 years waiting for more detailed maps and nothing...I think I'll switch to Fenix
The map stuff is tough. Garmin had a huge advantage since they were able to leverage their auto stuff that they've been developing for many years prior to the watches.
"''S" does NOT stand for small"... um, okay... and yet it always has, with smartwatches, and it will continue to...
It's a very "small" watch, it just doesn't appear so... sorry Coros.
Also, that new 'improved" HR sensor is absolute garbage. 30 miles of running in the last 3 days on my new Pace 3 (same garbage HR sensor as this "premium" watch) and the data is truly laughable. I have used a Pace 2 for 5 years with wonderful optical results, confirmed with a H10 chest strap. This new sensor is a joke. I can't believe Coros is trying to push it as an improvement.
I am returning my watch and getting a Garmin Instinct 2 just because the HR sensor is such an absolute fail. I mean, truly, it's so bad. Coros f'ed up with their hardware selection and they're trying to act like it works??
C'mon Coros, where's the flashlight? Everyone loves Garmin's lights, it's like leaving a flashlight off of a new phone.
Update without update....so no tech. improvements possible...
Eh?
@@ChaseTheSummit based on theirs release circle, Iexpect this year some major update, Vertix 3 or similar. But looks nothing new to propose (not NFC, no solar, no amoled, etc..)
All this smartwatch are clone.....!!!!
😢😢😢😢
not worth the hefty price. 700 bucks
Another watch without cellular….
That's a tough one to implement while also maintaining crazy battery life. I don't think the majority of users are asking for it either.
I’d bet that at least 80% of people have or explicitly take their phones with them while training.
These are not smartwatches and cellular drain while say running an ultra is not a variable athletes want to worry about.
AMOLED is necessary in 2024
$700 No Amoled..Hard Pass!
