    you can pick up a piece of flat aluminum stock, cut out teeth with a jig saw drill and mount to your traditional rake. definitely need teeth on the east coast...Although Larry Finch from Jacksonville uses a net/rake and does well with that...

    The Exact Design rake has smaller mesh openings than the other. That means you scoop up more junk and some of the smaller fleas don't escape, which is bad for the population.

    I purchased this and used it this past weekend. It is nice quality, however I found the holes to be too large for what I needed it for. Great for sand fleas, but I wanted it for shark teeth. So I was searching for shark's teeth and the vast majority were smaller than the holes.

      @@SaltSquatch Not yet, I just started and will probably purchase one of the floating screen sifters and then something similar to this but with tinier holes. I plan to keep my flea rake, it was just obvious I was losing a lot of shark teeth as they would fall right out of the large holes.

      Sand fleas are mole crabs. They’re a crustacean that lives at the beach and fish ray them. Great fishing bait!

    • @SaltSquatch
      @SaltSquatch  Před 4 lety

      Good observations! The reason why I’m out a little deeper is because it was winter...much more difficult to find sand fleas. During that season your best bet is to “blind rake” in deeper water.

  • @bwcaris316
    @bwcaris316 Před 2 lety

    There are levels to even catching bait. Don't waste your money. Sand flea net... nocturnal... where two opposing waves meet. A stick, some string squid, octopus leg, or sardine. Place in middle of the cross waves walk only when water covers. Directly over bait, should get 100 per scoop.
