- The XFL Million Dollar Game was so bad that they never played again. Well, the league got cancelled for other reasons, but the point stands. Rarely did it actually resemble football. Anything "good" was thanks to something far worse. And honestly, it's what the XFL deserved.
A poorly thought out, unnecessarily reckless league pitted the Los Angeles Xtreme against the San Francisco Demons. It quickly became clear these teams didn't belong on the same field, and was over as soon as it started. Thankfully, they played the whole 60 minutes so I could watch that for you and paint a picture of how terrible it was.

The XBA- the hoops are only 8 feet high and 2 feet in diameter, half court shots are worth 10, instead of free throws you get tossed an alley oop into a slam dunk
The XLB- steroids required, outfield fences can be no more than 350 feet away, home plate collisions mandatory even if there’s no play, bat flips required or else the player will be called out
The XHL- literally just fistfights for 3 periods, last man standing wins
XGA (golf) mandatory reenactment of atleast, but not limited to, 1 happy Gilmore scene, per golfer, per hole.
XASCAR- all racecars must be convertibles, no helmets, drivers required to give cell phone interviews during race, seatbelts prohibited, pitstops for gas and nas refills only

Kate Tremaine That’s subjective though. You can not compare the NFL to the XFL and expect the same results. If there was only one XFL Championship, you can not compare it to another, so by default it becomes the BEST and WORST XFL Championship. For example, if you have 1 thing registered online and have Filtering settings where you can sort from Best-Worst, vice-versa, or any comparable metric that signifies something being better than the other or worse, then you would get the same thing in any filtration. Therefore it is the best and worst by simple logic.

Well, it seems Vince McMahon learned something from this failure. One of the core reasons the XFL failed was because it tried to inject more violence into a sport that didn't need any more violence. The new XFL will have no cheerleaders, no two man scrum to determine first possession, and no rules that inspire more violence than the NFL already has. Also, I doubt this league has any wrestling partenerships. Instead, this new XFL is supposed to be a simpler and faster version of the NFL. Here are some of its rule changes
Kickoffs come from the 30 yard line. However, all of the players from the kick coverage team start from the receiving team's 35 yard line and the blockers start from their own team's ten yard line. Furthermore, only the kicker and kick returner can move until the kick returner has the ball. This is meant to decrease injuries without turning every kickoff into a touchback.
Punting teams cannot use gunners and any coffin corner kick is brought back to the receiving team's 35 yard line. This rule is intended to encourage teams to go for it more on fourth downs.
Teams are allowed to throw two forward passes on a play provided that they aren't thrown past the line of scrimmage.
The clock moves continuously, except on two minute warnings. Before you think that it makes games too short, know that all the helmets have radios so the offensive coordinator can inform all the players about his play without the need of a huddle. This means that a higher percentage of the game is the players, well, playing football.
There is a Sky Judge who reviews all the plays. Even the NFL should have a referee whose sole job is instant replay.
And of course, the rule for 1, 2, and 3 point PATs (with one point being a play from the two yard line, two points being a play from the five yard line, and three points being a play from the ten yard line) have been rolled over from the original XFL. It was one of the few things that league did correctly.
I hope these rule changes and more can create an entertaining football league

The XFL can work out if they do it right. If they make the age limit 18 it could potentially be an alternative for 5 && 4star athletics that want to get paid right away which would be great for the kids && the league. I REALLY hope it works out cuz itd be fun to have.

Once kids realize that the coaching in either is so piss poor that it's impossible to actually get drafted from either they'll just stick with college though.

The defenses didn’t even play all that well. Both definitely played above average, but both QBs missed some receivers, and the right guard on the Rams was basically throwing the game. The defenses are not as good as people are making it out to be

I remember my mom got me an XFL jersey for Christmas. I didn’t have the heart to tell her I was embarrassed to wear it to school. So I told her someone stole it from my gym class locker. When in fact i had buried it in the garbage can.

The thing that intrigues me about the XFL is that it really cared about the experience for fans and players. It may not have been the most well-thought-out, but damn was it interesting allowing players to play more aggressively, choose their own name gimmick and have more flair, and getting the fans more engaged with the action.

you should do the worst CFL seasons... the 2 years they tried to expand to the US. all the US teams except one were extremely poorly managed. at least two didn't play on fields that were big enough for example, and teams were folding and relocating all over the place. and that one exception? they had to change names before playing a game because they took the name of an NFL team
I was young when the XFL title game happened, but I remember this game being very exciting. A high scoring close game if my memory serves. EDIT: Then I watched the vid and I guess my memory does not serve. I could have swore both teams had high 20s-mid 30s in point totals... huh

The new XFL, and the AAF, will work this time because of internet access, which wasn’t available back then. Fantasy football and on line gambling are now all possible while watching the game on your phone. Guaranteed, it’s gonna work.

Two leagues, both of which will compete directly with each other while also trying to steal college rosters.
Basically the little dudes have to overcome the big dude while also fighting each other.
Let me put it this way. There has been a women's football league for YEARS and not once did it even show the slightest sign of life.
College football came at a time where people didn't think of the new guy as an inherently crappy version of what we already had. The new leagues have no such luxury.
Bolby Ballinger the AAF will follow NFL rules on college players, while the XFL will not. If both do all right, perhaps a merger? Or maybe an XFL-AAF championship game? The key is to establish themselves as an offseason football league. No need to beat the NFL, just beat hockey, basketball, and MLB. It’s possible.

I don't even give the new XFL a full season. Between the NFL, AAF, and CFL, there won't be anyone worth a damn who will wanna play. Aside from that, it's market saturation. The AAF is a much more serious league because of its ties to the NFL and the XFL will just be a joke.
The CFL gets limited exposure down here. Although I don't see how the XFL can compete with the AAF.
Plus the AAF got in the door first. The XFL might have had a chance to market sub-NFL talent if it signed that talent before the AAF did. But now the XFL will be competing for an even lower tier of players.
The problem for all these rival leagues is that you can't hide the lack of talent. It was obvious with the first XFL, once the hype wore off after week 1. Maybe a huckster like McMahon can fool some of the idiot fans, but he can't fool the professional sports talking heads. A product won't survive when the Stephen A. types begin heaping scorn on it daily. The talking heads tell sports fans what to think, and most of us eventually fall in line. It's very hard to remain a fan of a league that's getting ridiculed constantly on the sports commentary shows. Those shows are on constantly while the actual games are just a few hours per week.
