So many great authors! T. Kingfisher is my newest "READ ALL HER BOOKS!" And she writes the best dog characters ever.

I'll name two auto buy authors, one known and one criminally less known: TJ Klune and Frances Hardinge. Which, I think Lianne would LOVE the last one bc her worldbuilding skills are literally insane

I would say that I have five auto-buy authors, not counting the series that I would automatically buy any novels or related paraphernalia for: Michael J. Sullivan, Cassandra Clare, Brent Weeks, Lev Grossman, and V. E. Schwab.
Speaking of, please please please check out Gallant by V. E. Schwab! There’s a haunted house! Two even! I really do think that you would like it.

The Lost Man is a brilliant read.I live in country Australia and Jane Harper depicts that atmosphere so well, except without the murder, well mostly no murders. However I live in a town where a very well known mass murder was committed unfortunately. We honour the young victims with a beautiful memorial and it is a lovely little town .Thank you for the video, hope you are having a good summer and not to hot.xx

I picked up Mask of Mirrors at the end of last year immediately after I found out that it was co-authored by Marie Brennan. Loved it. The sequel is still really good, but the story gets a little hard to follow in the beginning. A couple of characters have multiple (some secret) identities and you have to remember who knows which version of each character, what the one character version knows about what the other one knows, what they are pretending they don't know etc. (trying to be vague to avoid spoilers and kind of hard to make sense) But, once they confess things to each other and get on the same page it's fantastic. (And then the teaser chapter for the 3rd one 😮😱!)

Kazuo Ishiguro and Marian Keyes tend to be my autobuys. Kate Atkinson is making her way onto my list as well
With Becky Chambers, I'm waiting for her latest (a novella) to come down in price. I resent paying the same price I would do for a full-sized books. Particularly as there is a sequel (also a novella). So why not publish in one volume!

Have you read A Psalm for the Wild Built? I've not finished Wayfarers so it's on my wishlist.
I loved Shades of London. I started Truly Devious because I already loved her writing. There is a teeny issue with the series though. I'm not sure if she's abandoned it for good but it needs at least one more book because cliffhanger. Having said that, I still love the books that do exist.

  • @amy_harboredinpages8272

...and my "want to reads" grows... Brennan, Jewell, Goss... and so on... got it! ...😃📚📚📚📚 peeks from under rock... blink blink... Hobbs.... ok...
Becky Chambers and Jane Harper are insta buy/library barrow. I recently pestered my local librarian to double check when the new Harper will be released... 😭spring2023...
    Also for me...
Patricia Briggs, J. R. Ward, Pierce Brown, T. J. Klune, Rebecca Roanhorse, and Jeff Zentner.
    Just to name a few.

I love the Lady Trent series by Marie Brennan. And I do want to give the Bone Season series a go as well. But I cannot get into the Orange Priory Tree (or whatever the heck its called) and not just because it is a chunky book. But I am not much of a fantasy reader. I prefer sci-fi and some urban fantasy - especially those set on worlds that are based on earth or set in somewhat realistic worlds and that are PLAUSIBLE!! For those reasons I love Cyberpunk and Steampunk!! Set on Earth with slightly alternative histories!! Those I can read!! The Lady Trent series also falls into the "plausible" category as well. But the reason i wanted to leave a comment is that I am so incredibly shocked that one author you often rave about - I think - who is NOT on this auto buy list - and that is Colleen Hoover!! Did I miss something? OH OK.. I jumped the gun and posted this before I got to the end of the video. There are more autobuy authors. Maybe Colleen will be on the next Auto buy list!!
