I understand exactly what you’re saying my first move out of state was to Florida and it was scary but it was the best thing I could have done ! Definitely builds character and makes you grow as a person ! Love this video! You gave some really great tips 💜

I’ll be 27 next month and plan to move out on my own *ALONE* for the first time.
What I’ve done to prepare me to meet people is look up volunteering opportunities. I’m not the type to go out much so I know I wouldn’t have much luck with that. 🥴 I don’t mind volunteering though!

we’re a lot alike lol! also graduated in 2020 & I just moved from new york to philly and didn’t really spend a lot time thinking about social life or anything other than the fact that I was excited to start a new job here since it’s kinda a dream job. when I got here I freaked out at the fact that I literally only had one person call here and haven’t had to make new friends in a long time. but this video was super helpful and i loved the note on changing your mindset so ty!! and good luck in charlotte!

Hey, love your apartment hunting/tour videos, and you really do have some great advice for people moving out for the first time, or living in a whole new city. I’m considering a move from up north down to Charlotte and have been researching apartments and reading reviews. My favorite place I’ve seen online so far is the complex you ended up choosing and while it gets a lot of great reviews, there are quite a few that comment on a lack of service from the leasing folks once you sign the lease, parking issues, and a lack of security. What has been your experience there so far? Aesthetically and amenities-wise, this place seems perfect for me, but I definitely want an insider’s opinion before I start touring places.
I haven’t had any issues at all whether it be staff, parking or security.

I'm in the same boat right now!! I'll be moving from NYC to Charlotte next month for work (also a creative!), so this def hits close to home. It'll also be the first time I'm moving away from my hometown and family/friends, which only adds to the struggle for my introverted self 😅 Anyway, I'm glad I found this video!! Def helped ease my worries and reminded me why I'm doing this in the first place 😊

Girl You are gorgeous! Black beauty is stunning! I wish I had that melanin..So pretty! I am glad you are getting after it. I have not cried since about 3 weeks ago. But I wanted to move because I needed to see something better. I mean I love my city but it is not exactly known for being clean, beautiful and safe. It was a long time ago. I just want better for me and my kids. If I decide to raise a family. I would not chose my city. At all.

I’m moving there in January. I already moved to a new city before for grad school so I’m used to the experience but I’ve never moved to a whole new state so I’m a bit nervous but excited

Aww I’m a few years older than you but I appreciate this because I’m making the same move also from NY (I’m doing this to make myself learn to drive too lol).
I’m also introverted but don’t have social media and don’t drink lol so it’s a struggle but I still like to go out and experience the culture of a city. Glad you’re thriving in Charlotte. Would you consider DC in the future?
Yeah DC is a great city as well. The whole DMV is. Its just a tad bit expensive

So happy I found this video as I am thinking of relocating to Charlotte from the DMV area. I've been super excited about it, but of course, I've had people constantly putting thoughts into my mind about being down there alone. This video really helped to calm some of those fears. I definitely want to move out of my small town I lost my job and still live with my parents. I know that I have to save money to eventually move but for now my main focus is to work on my career to save money.

Omg you got a new subscriber! I had a big breakup with a long time partner so I want a change of scenery ! I want to move to Charlotte from Boston, I want a little bit of change without giving up all the seasons and I work in accounting so it's perfect! Definitely looking forward to the "cheaper" living down there. I'm an introvert too but I do agree about making new friends. Ive visited a couple times and I enjoyed myself, I also know someone whose lived there for years! Any recommendations on certain areas of Charlotte? I want to move beginning of next year and am looking at apartment costs/areas in Charlotte or right outside of Charlotte.

How is public transit? , bc I don’t have a car nor do I know how to drive , is Charlotte walkable ? Would you recommend?
In uptown, noda and southend there is a lightrail thats is pretty good. Uber is pretty affordable out here as well. Uptown Charlotte is walkable, other than that no.
I’m 22.. still in the same home town .. I had to move back in with family due to finances .. I just started a job and it’s cool I still don’t have a place but I have a car and I want to leave this city .. how long should I wait or should I just go for it ..start applying for new jobs, housing etc ?? 🙄🙄😢
I would definitely say save up 4-6 months of living expenses just for the what if’s ya know. But im also pro just going for it 🥰. Start applying for those new jobs in ur new city. You got this girl ❤️
