    Totally makes sense to recondition OEM parts; they are better than any replacements you can get today. I bought all my OEM tins and reconditioned them almost 20 years ago and they’re still on the motor. Useful bit of info: the little rubber bumpers on the flaps are the same part as the two rear apron rubber plugs on Bugs; in case you want to replace them; they can get hard and crumbly with the heat. Btw, Rust Oleum has a great line of products which perform great and don’t break the bank. Another tip; when dipping the paint cans in the warm water wrap them in a zip lock bag so they don’t get wet.

    • @SladesVWBeetle
      @SladesVWBeetle  Před 5 měsíci +1

      You know, that’s really weird I was looking at them little rubber bumpers, and knew they look familiar, but I could not figure out why. Now it makes sense!
      I’ve never had a problem with Rustoleum I really like it. That’s the way the first car was painted on the channel here. But I used an HVLP gun for that one.
      A friend of mine used rust, oleum rattle can, with 2K clear rattle can with the harder in it, and it looks absolutely beautiful even after years now. And yes, that’s a good tip! Because the can ends up wet and I have to dry it off lol thank you so much for being here.

    I’m a sterile technician in a hospital and use a ultrasonic every day that’s about three times the size of the one. You have two important things to remember when using this , first after filling with your solution you need to run it for 10 minutes without anything in it this is called a “degassing phase” which gets rid of any excess air in the water how these things work is by something called, cavitation, ultrasounds pass through the water, causing micro bubbles to implode, which causes a suctioning effect that pulls debris out of hard to reach crevices and off of surfaces, but it’s best for getting things out of hinges and hard to reach areas that you normally can’t get to with conventional methods , and second thing try not to overload them just a few pieces at a time, following those techniques will get you the best results!
