  • Join us as we explore the best tips and advice from Berliners on how to make friends and meet new people in the city. Whether you're an expat or a longtime local, these insider tips will help you expand your social circle and create meaningful connections.
Gain valuable insights from Berlin expats on how to make friends and meet new people. Their advice transcends borders, applicable anywhere you are. This video features several methods but also explains the importance of mindset. Perhaps you not only want a lot of friends but also make meaningful and lasting friendships.
In essence, you should embrace your hobbies, and find a way to follow them with others. But you can also use platforms like Meetup, Couchsurfing, Urban Sports, or Facebook groups tailored to expats, hobbies, or making friends. Language exchanges are another great way to build friendships, and sometimes a simple "hi" can already break the ice.
And remember to be patient and not force yourself to make friends. Just show up. It takes time to find the right people. But don't hear it from me, hear it from our interviewees on the street.
I strongly recommend using Babbel for language learning and enhancing your skills to connect with locals and make friends (I use it myself and find it highly effective). You can use this link to learn languages effectively for a good price and support my project at the same time: uk.babbel.com/pages/en-gb/eve...
You can try it out for a bit, use Babbel Live for interactive sessions with teachers, or even get a lifetime subscription. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced communicator, Babbel caters to all levels.
Discover practical strategies like joining local meetups, engaging in language exchanges, and embracing social platforms like Facebook groups tailored for expats and locals alike.

I really liked the honest answers from the people. Not force it is the secret even tho sometimes can be very lonely especially if you dont speak the language or if you are introvert.

this was kinda spot on video in sense that I've been thinking same stuff myself too. also kinda made me figure out that if I hang around in internet, I'll just find the same internet people that will not develop to anything irl really. but yeah, it's really tricky when you don't really have any social hobbies, but you are that weird nerd doing stuff that people don't even understand.

in finland there's an additional problem that people are just drinking outside during the summer, so if you don't drink also, you are somewhat out of luck :D

There might be conventions or places for people with the same interests to look out for (and go regularly). Or thinking about something that you always wanted to try in the past.

Do they know that making friends is not saying hi to people in the street??
