    I thought when she said "People often complain" that she was talking about Czechs 😂 that is TRUE *But Prague is very different than other places! Keep that in mind, literally Prague is like a different, open minded world.* Moravia, the Eastern Region differs too. I mean all regions are different :) but some more that others 3:40 all that he says (before this time too). Not problem solvers :) only complain, no action, mostly 5:17 this exactly - in Prague, this is the case, and in the other places, all around, they act all kind but judge you and talk about you later (but I think that's normal when you compare a big city, and smaller ones and villages) 7:46 exactly this is the way I see racism in Czech Republic. It's not too much discrimination in important matters, but it's practically all around you, they're jus gonna go away or talk bad about oyu or to you.

    Oh man... Early morning Anděl is quite dangerous place in general. Year ago white Czech was stabed there and something like this happens from time to time there. And sometimes some idiot stops the escalators. It just happens no matter the colour of your skin and even less probably for your funny accent. There is racism but those examples are as non valid as possible.

  • @jirivoborsky7010

    The idea of Czechs being unfriendly or withdrawn is caused by being occupied by Russians and the communist totalitarian regime. Being too friendly was a bad idea, as not being secretive could cause you being thrown in a prison. Also during this time people were forcibly disbanded when the amount of members got over some number or were loud enough. So, a french loud extrovert would highly probably suffer grave consequences during this time and would soon learn to keep to himself

    As a citizen of Czech republic I would like to comment what the black Frenchman is saying. In my opinion he don't have very good experiences with Czech people because they are generally kinda racist. So I kinda feel bad for him. Not everyone, but generally we don't like to accept new things (for example new black or Muslim colleague/neighbor) and we are simply little shitty racists. Mostly boomers and generally older people. I think young Czechs are more open-minded. I for example work in Germany and I have quite a lot foreigner colleagues (Africa, india, Síria, Írán etc) and some of them are good friends of mine.

    Yeah you westerners were wide open to welcome literally anyone, now you have to censor media and stats how much the crime rate rised, gangs grows rapidly along with many other cultural clashes and problems. Why is it so hard for people to accept reality that no country is obliged to welcome everyone. Why they think they should be served with full service, sometimes even prior to coming into country? Yes they're whining spoiled brats... You're not even familiar with country's customs and expect them to adjust to yours?? Like wth??

    Oh common, Andel is full of homeless and drug users, many people are getting attacked (mostly verbally) there... Regardless of ethnicity... About that stop button... Boy, that man who would do that he would face charges. Its monitored area. Sorry, I dont buy this... I dont say there are no rasists here, there obviously are, but this is totall bullshit. I live in a city some 80km north of Prague, we have nearly 100 000 citizens. More than 10% of population here are gypsies, there are many many vietnamies here, there are now many ukrainians, there are black people, there are muslim people, there are Indian people, Pakistani and others (and really, all of these ethnicities do live in my house, or next houses to my) and I never saw open rasist action... And I do live in the very center of town... And yes, we were not used to other ethnicities in past, except gypsies that are here for many centuries. But since 1989 there are many many ethnicities here and we are used to them. So sorry, I dont buy this...

    Im a Czech, Prague born, but i do travel a lot and lived in two other countries (plus i watch travel content all the time). I definitely agree we Czechs are quite reserved and its hard for foreigners to make friends here between the locals. Its a mentality of rather small country that was separated from the world for 40 years through communism but lately became kinda popular especially thanks to Prague, almost nonexistent unemployment and good geographical location (also culturally we are heavily influenced by German/Austrian mentality, which is also reserved, but they didnt have 40 years of communism, so they are a bit less cold). Czechs are still getting used to foreigners and we have what we call "hobbit mentality", which basically means Czechs love to have beautiful, rich, peaceful place but they are kinda ignorant to the outside world and tend to not accept outsiders and feel a bit snobby/proud and passive aggresive when the world comes to us. Basically The Shire and Hobbits in LOTR movies/books. As i consider this as kinda negative trait and ive always worked to integrate and connect people when ive lived in Spain and Germany, im trying to do the same here. My advice is you dont need to find a group of Czechs, but rather one person with a strong connection and let him/her introduce to his/her friends. Also its easier to find friends between younger generations who are today less than 30. These people like me already grown in open border free society and traveled more with parents/done Erasmus/studied abroad and so on, so they will integrate you easier than people who are 40,50 plus. I would say that young Czechs are not very different from other young Europeans like Belgians, Austrians, Germans, Dutch and so on.

    • @lukaskober5216
      @lukaskober5216 Před dnem

      Open border culture society bring a destruction of your own culture. But I understand since young generation almost completely lost a sense for national pride and culture preservation. It's only matter of time that people from outside you welcome in your country they bring they own culture with them and transform your place to shithole they come from and destroy everything your ancestor build and fought for.

    I am gonna call bullshit. Stop button on escalators would cause most ppl to fall down. Many would get injured (not just poor lil brown man). And theres multiple cameras watching the escalators from top to bottom. This is obvious bs lie if there ever was one. Going around Anděl, especially morning/evening is an adrenaline adventure for everyone, from white to black, from a teenager to elderly xD

    I'd just like to add: as it is in most countries I know, the culture in the capital of a country is often not exactly representative of the country, but has it's own "spin" on it. That's very much the case in Berlin, too. People who think they know German culture because they've spent a lot of time in Berlin will be either shocked or pleasantly surprised if they move to other places in Germany.

    We, Czechs, are very protective even though we don't think about that thiss way. This protectiveness may seem to strangers like coldness, rudeness, but as we get to know the people we open up genuinely. We see what is happening in the west with their culture and don't want to get in the trouble western countries are facing with immigrants. So as a foreigner if you show attitude to assimilate with czech culture we will welcome you with open hands. In regards of titles: When you are at doctors they will use the title because of the respect. You call him doctor XXX which is his title as well. It may get you a little bit better treatment but I don't think so. If you don't have any tilte and behave politely and friendly you will get the same treatment. Also titles are used in schools/universities. Also because of respect. And people who force their titles in day to day conversations are 99% faggots who thing that they are something better because of the degree. And you don't want to be around those people anyways...

    Living in Prague for almost 2 years- I've found 80-90s generation are decent people generally. If you're cool with them, they are cool back. You will get ass holes every where but they generally do not want an actual altercation, they will just talk/bitch and nothing more. The older generation will be nice to your face but are real cunts, even to each other- especially in Prague. They distrust everyone, which is likely a hang over from the communism. In the villages however I found almost everyone was pleasant, I did not live there long enough to fully find out but there was more community.

    Wohooooo , German culture shock Episode # 65389 🤮 First - WRONG about soooo many things SECOND - If it is sooooo horrible 😱 why not go somewhere where it is better for expats 🤔🤔🤔 I keep hearing the same nonsense again and again - especially THE first guy talking about hugs and wars 😂 I am 62 now and I was born 16 years after WW2 endet - AND yes, WE are aware how awful and despicable was from Germany - but rest asure - THE people you run into AND meet do Not feel guilty because most of their parents had nothing to do with the wars - yes WE remember those terrible things comitted by germans, but it does not control our interactions with expats - simply ridicolous. Every expat but this guy says germans are super direct and say what they think 🤔 Which one is it now??? Laughable nonsense 🙄
