Big pond window uncovered and the algae is starting to bloom right behind it. The fish pond window is almost green with it and string algae is starting to take route on the window.
I clean the rust of the stainless steel window frame with "Iron out" and it goes a treat..... well thats until I recruit a little stone into the mix and scratch the frame.
Quick nexus 220 filter clean after only 3 days and what it removes is truly amazing. I think its going to be hard to stay on top of the alage this spring, just as much as it was last year with the fish pond.
A quick recommendation on a great item for window cleaning and I do an epic job of cleaning mine 😂

get the hose in for the inner part to flush crap away mate. i actually love cleaning the nexus out, never a chore to do it

check out the 3M "eraser wheel" for removing sealant. You may need to polish your stainless afterwards.

All looking good mate 👌 that uv I think is 20.000 lph it will take a much faster flow than what your running. Make sure what ever you use to clean that stainless isn't corrosive mate as it will eat the silicone👍😉

I kept the iron out away from the seals mate, you make an awesome point though as I think it would over time 🐟
@@koifishjohnny i can't see it hurting turning it up mate obviously it will cost that bit more to run I think once you've found that sweet spot you will be OK mate it takes alot of tinkering head work I know but its part of the hobby that we all love 😉👍
You could also put a bypass on the uv line, that way you can run the uv slowly to get the dwell time but not lose out on pump flow.

Top tip Wednesday for koi fish Jonny….. did you know you can remove the eazy console to give it a good old proper clean out? Unclip the air twist the eazy and lift….. mind your fingers tho cos it’s razor bloody sharp… 👍🏻

consider a magnetic glass cleaner designed for aquariums... bulk reef supply has some great reviews on youtube around the size, strength, blades, etc. to cover big areas.

I use jet wash or hosepipe on my nexus when it's drained hose the easy chamber down it cleans all the bits of the mesh it will not affect your filter bacteria along as you drain the fresh water out and as for flow though uv you would benefit from using flow and running more water as uv good for 20,000lph

TBH mate I did, I have been doing a couple a day at the minute just to gtry and stay on tope of it as the water is on the turn to pee soup. Its that time of year when we are all fighting againt it. Any tips mate? 🐟
