    Little correction: You said millions died from the kharaa bacteria, and while that is correct, a PDA says that over 143 billion(!) people died just in the early stages of the virus. "Millions" is just a silent wet fart compared to the actual scales of mortality. Great video though! :D

    The precursors couldn’t have heard the sea emperor because the telepathic communication is on a different wave length. If you have a radio, you can’t put on two frequencies at the same time. Precursors are also about 8 feet tall, looking at the doorways and the heights of the tables.

    Not many games have lore as interesting as Subnautica but I don't think we got enough of it.

    • @TheLastBacon
      @TheLastBacon  Před 5 lety +3

    • @kevinfortin8240
      @kevinfortin8240 Před 5 lety

      Look i know you praised the game and said it's good and all but are you kidding me ? We didn't get enough of it ? This game is way beyond anything people can make these days, these days some games don't even have good lore or have lore at all. They only have plotholes that just contradicts each other or just doesn't work well when you start to really process it. How much more can this game give ?

    • @DADDA
      @DADDA Před 5 lety +1

      I agree, this game stands out when compared to most titles that come out nowadays.
      And it's an indie game so that makes it even more impressive.
      But I can't help and compare the lore to a game that has mastered this aspect, Dark souls.
      Whenever I revisit an area in a Souls game, I always feel like I haven't quite explored it to 100%. This way all the areas keep their charm, even though I've been through there dozens of times, it's still mysterious, eerie and hostile, there is always some detail I've missed all the last times I've been there and it always adds something to the area.
      On the other hand after finishing Subnautica just once, I already know what to expect, I know which mobs spawn at which areas, I've already found all the secrets and I know all the lore just by paying attention.
      I've been mildly disappointed every time I clicked on a lore video about Subnautica. I used to watch Dark souls lore videos and there was always so many things in them I haven't noticed in my playthrough, things like items, quests, dialogues, details in the environment, hints hidden in plain sight or even entire huge areas I just missed.
      But when I watch a video about Subnautica's lore, I realize, I already knew everything from just one single playthrough and the areas just don't feel as atmospheric as they once did.
      Still a great, one of a kind game, I will replay it some day after I forget most of what I know about it now so I can get some of the first time playthrough charm back, also probably on hardcore, to get back the suspense and fear the game was once able to trigger in me.

    • @kevinfortin8240
      @kevinfortin8240 Před 5 lety +2

      @@DADDA I kinda think dark souls is not a game you should compare to subnautica at all really. They have nothing in common in terms of directions that they choose. I understand what you're saying and what your point is but it's really not comparable. It was a different story for me tho, every new playthrough i watched and new page site i opened i found out new stuff that i didn't even realize or knew before. I guess what i'm saying is everyone has a different experience and Subnautica is a game that shows that in a way that everybody can enjoy in thwir own way. Besides, it's like you said, for an indie game made by a small group of devs that only have made 2 games under their belt (which one of them is actually a mod) it's pretty impressive for a gamethat only costing $25 at best and one some sites FOR FREE whivh such high quality and quantity.

    I have a few theories about the Percursors, mainly appearance and how they talk. First, size: they were probably taller than a human, but weren't very tall. They probably were a foot or two larger. Second, bodily features: they probably had longer arms, they could possibly have had tentacles for fingers, since the handle of the Alien Rifle seems a bit too small for some large alien finger, and they possibly could have looked similar to Warpers, minus the tentacles, for which they probably had legs. Warpers also probably had a land form that had legs since the Precursors were a galactic species at one point before their supposed extinction, which means that they could have encountered planets which had more land than 4546B but still had life. Third, communication: they were probably telepathic, however their telepathy was different from the Sea Emperor's. Telepathy would require some sort of group of signals and typically signals are different for every species. The Precursor's signals were probably different from the Sea Emperor's, however, non-telepathic species may have a ability to understand all kinds of telepathic signals which is why we can understand the Sea Emperor but the Precursors couldn't.

    It’s likely the precursors chose the water planet for the disease research is because ecosystems in water host vast amounts of divers and developing life forms and organisms that each have unique genetic sequences that can hold cures for diseases because they are resistant. The same is true on earth. You should also talk more about each of the artifacts in the places and the Conscience of the precursors I would be totally interested in that. It’s notable that they had a lot of weapons, such as the earth artifact as well as their modern weapons, also the tech like their nanomites. And the most interesting is the bomb or weapon core theat they have that could take out a solar system, probably as a fail safe seeing as its already killed billions, and then the fun part is speculating into if they used the technologies weapons they had to protect the situation as they knew the dire costs of the outbreak, or was it another weapon of was that finally went too far and got them?
