That's a really important fact that's often left out of the discussion. Too many people think it was about tonnage dropped or factories destroyed. Those things were the means to an end.

Good job Andrew.. FWIIW, Bud's 357th escorted 1st BD attacks at Stettinand Sorau and Cottebus on April 11th. Anderson's squadron got into fight on the way home in Hannover area but 357th was also shooting down 109s from Leipzig to Magdeburg. One of their biggest days of WWII.
Had the pleasure of meeting this legend at The Planes of Fame Airshow in 2010. Our photo came up today in my memories app so I searched his name and saw he is still alive at 102 years old!!!
