I got that red Hori arcade stick about 7 months ago, and while i didn't need it, it has made the experience so much more enjoyable (because of the physical way of playing) that i don't think i can go back to pad anymore , unless i absolutely have to.
Keep in mind, this stick is fully moddable, so you can swap the buttons out for Sanwa's or any other if you don't like the feel of these Hori buttons.
Also, there's A LOT of 2D fighting games on the Switch that an arcade stick would be great for. Blazblue, DBFZ , the NEO GEO games like garou mark of the wolves, the SF 30th anniversary collection, etc etc

There is a Fightstick(even though its missing the "stick") for smash its called the Smashbox by Hitbox. It's not shiping yet but they are taking pre orders. As far as i know it is designed by Doctors for ergonomics, and Hax$ a Melee player as well as other Smash pros. it price is 199$ and boast many a feat. The biggest Pro to this Fightbox is 0 hand strain as Hax$ plays with it and has had several serious hand injuries, the box aslo allows him to play at a pro level even if his hands are injured. it was originally a kickstarter Project and will be shipping some time next month-ish. Worth Checking out if you were unaware of its existence.

RobotVEV0 some of this information is outdated.
Hax$ made his own fight stick call the B0XX which is taking preorders now.
The smash box is out. Note that saying it was made by doctors is note really true.
The B0XX and smashbox have different layouts.
There is also the smashstick which is going to have a kickstarter soon. That one is much more like a true fight stick and may be the best one out of the three.

However the buttons are a bit cheap and too easy to press. However! Sanwa make great buttons that you can buy 8 of for 25$, i found mine at focusattack.com . And you can order them in different colors for the same price there!
So yeah, if your looking at getting into fight sticks. Grab the mayflash f300 to get you started!

6:50 Going back to this video, I can see he has a problem playing Smash using arcade stick-style inputs. Lately, I've been fascinated about using arcade sticks in Smash, and I've adapted the Virtua Fighter PKG layout to the game. Even Spanish-language Brawl cabinets use the same layout, but add the Grab macro button right below the Special Move button.

There a a sturdiest button controller for smash called smash box. It had so many buttons and is so exprnsively niche. Made just for that game but if that way your fighting game it looks amazing. Made by hotbox.

I mostly played games on PC since the Mega Drive (my first and last console that wasn't a hand-me-down) era and I don't understand how people might prefer keyboard arrows to a joystick, I never managed to pull off a Hadouken out with a keyboard, like EVER.

How do you deal with the input lag on the SN30 Pro? It's borderline unusable for games like Hollow Knight or even Rocket League.
