We have made great progress on the subject of gatekeeping in the pipeline. The "old way" was ridiculous. The standard is the gate. It doesn't need a guard. Cadre are mentors and coaches getting folks the tools they need to enter the gate and find success. We don't need cadre and instructors with a mindset that they are the gatekeepers. I appreciate the interview! Trey 🕓

As a recently retired Chief in the Air Guard, I completely agree with the comments with LOR's. What I told my SNCO's, NCO's and Airman who were putting in packages for promotion or positions was to get LOR's from those Airman below you. As strategic leaders, yes; we want to take care of all our Airman that we are responsible for but sometimes it is a chore. But submitting LOR's from Airman and NCO's lends a great deal of weight to a board. It is two-fold; it allows that Airman a developmental opportunity in understanding to write LOR's and secondly; nobody knows how "you" lead as those junior Airman - they will be honest (in most cases) as to how you have lead/mentored them. Those type of LOR's give the board member a good measure of type of leader the person applying is.

We had a Green Beret come to our civilian PT practice after being in 2 vehicles hit by RPGs in Afghanistan and was told at Walter Reed he just had PTSD. He had actually herniated every disc from top to bottom. We rehabbed him and got him back to being a cop again. I feel bad for dudes who take what military doctors say as gospel.

The 724 gets to see the good and bad of our pipeline processes like Rob is talking about. SMUT is broke. So much divergence in what guys show up to OTC with. Definitely need a core SMUT course to level bubbles and establish a solid foundation to build upon. The nuances should come at the schoolhouses. 🤘🕓

@@OnesReady I know, totally random question.
Unfortunately, the CBI is not well covered by historians. And Google is NOT the answer.
But I figured since 10 WS -> 10 CWS -> 720 STG, you all might know or know someone who does.
