    I thought buying a candle and lighting it was simple and straight forward until I actually started using one. This was very informative lol

    The lluima lid or a lamp candle warmer really works for the candle tunneling. I just wish bath and body works would follow that

    Question here: do you get rid if the melted wax once you extinguish the candle? Or do you let it evaporate over time?

  • @CoCoGardner

    Candle snuffers are also great for extinguishing taper candles. If you don’t, you could end up cleaning wax off of a table. I didn't think you'd have to worry about soot around the rim of the expensive soy candles, but you need to keep the wick trimmed as well. . Thanks for the worthy video!

    We need to find a tool to TRIM the wick when it’s deep down in the jar. Very difficult to keep wick a quarter inch tall without a tweezer made especially for that ! Please advise.

      I saw your mother likes candles. If something happens or tips over, you have to cover the fire don't ever add water to it.

    I thought I knew everything about burning candles but.... so regarding the foil around the candle, is this to actually say that...if I have a candle that's almost been used half-way, and I have a 'pillar' of wax inside the glass candle holder...where the wax didn't burn/melt all the way out...that if I burn the candle the next time with foil around the outside, that I can actually get all the extra wax around the sides...wax that previously was just creating like a pillar around the actual melted candle wax...that I can get it to start melting OUTWARD? So cool..and good to know...as I HATE wasting perfectly good and sometimes expensive wax.
    My current candle addiction is Le Labo. Pricey, but oh so nice!

      And if you don't want to waste *any* wax at all, pour a little boiling water into the vessel and wait a couple of minutes until the wax dislodges; then take out the wick and wick holder and burn/melt the wax in an oil burner. That way, you don't waste any wax/scent at all :)
      I've done this and it works really well, however, it only really works well if you burn it all up in one go. After the first burn/melt, the wax starts to get really dirty and the beautiful scent is masked by it.

    Hey thanks for vidoe. I find the snuffer/wick dipper method still produces a level of smoke. Is there any smoke free method or tricks?

    • @taboletka
      @taboletka Před rokem +2

      Hi! I’m a little late, but maybe you will still find this useful. I learned that if you put a lid over your candle, it will stop burning and you won’t have any smoke (I keep the lid on for some time before removing). This works only with candles that are inside some container and not just pure wax, luckily there are many you can find and often they already come with a lid. Although some of the lids are wooden, I’d recommend to be wary of those, not sure you should put away a candle with those

    • @nikkiturner123456
      @nikkiturner123456 Před rokem +1

      @@taboletka you have to be careful using this method as over time your candle can lose its scent and begin to smell only of soot/smoke I’ve learned this the hard way with certain brands of candles 😢

    does the candle snuffer work on the tall candles as well? and doesn't it get wax on it? you just have to sit there waiting till it dries? lol

    • @jayniegunasagaran3984
      @jayniegunasagaran3984 Před 7 měsíci +1

      My thoughts exactly. The snuffer gets wax on them so you’ll have to clean the snuffer. I did find it funny though when he said there’ll be no smoke if you used a wick dipper/snuffer but both of it has a lil smoke release.

    • @lauran.7687

      @@jayniegunasagaran3984 I got a snuffer and it works on any candle and wax rarely gets on it and if it does, you can easily pull it off. and smoke is a lot less than just blowing it out, especially if u hold it on there for a couple seconds
