    Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the term ‘Mong’ is a contraction of the word Mongol, an old fashioned term for people who we now refer as people with Downs syndrome.
    On the subject of tea, try weaning yourself off drinking tea with sugar in it.
    I weaned myself off sugar in tea about 40 years ago, it’s such a nice drink without sweetening.
    If someone inadvertently gives me a cup with sugar in it, I can’t drink it.
    Dry drinking tea for about two weeks without sweetening, I can almost guarantee if you try it with sugar at the end of two weeks, you won’t want sugar in it.

    • @rnw2739
      @rnw2739 Před 5 měsíci +4

      It is a diminutive of 'mongol', although it was always meant or said to someone who had done something particularly stupid - wasn't specifically a term for Downs Syndrome sufferers - just the more regular kind of spastics.

      Mongoloid is a old term used by the medical profession in the 1950's to describe people with Downes syndrome. In street use, it was contracted to 'Mong' and used for the same purpose, but also as a pejorative for anyone who spoke or behaved in a manner deemed to be silly or uncoordinated. In later years, the medical reference fell into disuse, but the schoolboy pejorative remained for many years after.

      Same as with a lot of Ricky's comedy. At the moment, he is the darling of right wingers because they think he is making fun of woke or immigrants etc, when in actuality, he is making fun of the right wing mindset. The reason they like him is because they think he is somehow on their "side", and that he is "punching down" on their behalf. Ricky himself is a left winger who voted for Labour, but irony seems to be lost on both sides of politics these days lol@@QueenscityCLT

      About the africa thing, Ricky pointing out why do people follow a faith or a God when there God is to blame or take the praise of things there God does,they praise there almighty when good things happen then they make excuses for the God when bad things happen like the kids with aids. Why? Why follow a faith/God when they do everything even the bad stuff, the faithful always say when bad stuff happens, God did it for a reason making out it was done for the good, try asking those on the end of God's bad doings if they think it's OK and done for the good. This is what Ricky's trying to get at to explain what's the point of a god/faith

    I've NEVER heard of tea making people fat 😂😂 I would suggest it's the sugar and are you adding cream? Don't give up on tea. Us brits survive on at least 10 a day 😂😂

    As said by others here, this wasn't a joke about Africa. It was a joke about the hypocrisy of religion and the simple people that don't like facts and still believe in it.

    When I quit sugar in tea and coffee I used a few drops of natural honey instead. Now I just have it with oat milk and find that is sweet enough

    “Mong” is short for Mongrel, an unintentional Nickname for people who have Down’s syndrome, used many years ago. Susan Boyle looks faintly like that, and when she first went on Britains got Talent she behaved weirdly!

    Mate, I have 3 sugars in my brews and I have about 20 a day. I'm as skinny as a rake. You have the belly from either eating too much and not getting enough exercise or if you like a tipple booze is the worst. Every pub has plenty of beer bellies there.

    His real genius is telling "offensive" (to the uneducated) jokes that shoot in the other direction. The kind of joke that has somebody complain before they really understood what was said.
