I’ve been so hyped to see you break down an MF DOOM song
Man i remember stumbling on MF DOOM for the first time as King Geedorah. It was one of the Underground Hip-hop for Dummies mixes some guy put together on their blog, and I heard Fazers and immediately had to go listen to all of Take Me To Your Leader.
Like one of the other posters here, DOOM and Aesop Rock are some of my all time favorites along with Del The Funky Homosapien.

I took it as a Moby Dick reference. _Everything that glitters ain't fish scale_ meaning pure cocaine and Moby Dick was a huge white whale/brick of cocaine. Also whales are mammals so they do not have scales which is the literal translation. Or it could mean everything that glitters isn't pure. Moby Dick was one of the first pieces of media to portray the color white as evil (the good guys always wore white hats etc.)
