    Update: This product also presses on a slimmer screen and it is dangerous to damage the monitor. Tested it on my wife's new monitor. You can check the result of how it looks like at 06:00. The other model from Baseus is better because it doesn't have the strength to press on the monitor. it will just hang. Or you can also go for Xiaomi Screenbar.
    Update: 10:12 PM - in order to avoid light bleeding. Put a slim strong card beneath the clip. about 1.3 inches X 2 inches. You can use an unused ATM card. Then at the bottom of the biggest part of the clip that is placed in the back, put a double-sided tape so the screen bar will not fall. This hack will make the clip not to hold on your monitor and cause light bleeding.

    • @RitchieLinao
      @RitchieLinao  Před 3 lety +1

      @@Elijah._.7 The LED light is covered well with white plastic to reduce harsh lights. That's what I noticed at Xiaomi Store in the mall. And I think the angle is also different. And it is also not advisable to max the brightness of the light because it bounces in the screen when viewing white pages. David Zhang also created two reviews though it's a different product. You might want to check it out.

  • @danlightened
    @danlightened Před 3 lety +39

    I don't understand how you have so few views. This is the most technical video I found on this subject.
    As a photographer too, accurate colours, contrast etc are really important. Wouldn't using a warm light change the way you perceive your image and it's output?

    • @RitchieLinao
      @RitchieLinao  Před 3 lety +1

      the lightbar won't change the image. though, the dust in your monitor can be very annoying while editing and you keep on using a rocket blower to clear the dust.
      What changes the image on your screen is the night light settings that will turn the blue light to warm.
      In my current settings right now, I no longer use night light settings and baseus monitor light because my eyes already adapted to the blue light but not that much, sometimes I can still experience eye strain.

    • @danlightened
      @danlightened Před 3 lety +1

      @@RitchieLinao Yeah, night light will definitely change it but I hear even ambient light that's warm or cold will change how you perceive an image.
      Also, if we have lower or higher brightness and contrast of the monitor compared to the screens of other people, it would look different on their screen. This is something that always bothered me.

    • @RitchieLinao
      @RitchieLinao  Před 3 lety +1

      @@danlightened I just recently test it with my desk lamp that has warm light, it shows a little change in colors. especially on shadows and mid-tones. Bright colors are not affected heavily and not noticeable. I think that's the reason why there are monitors with a cover on the sides and top to block all lights filling in the screen.

    • @danlightened
      @danlightened Před 3 lety

      @@RitchieLinao Yeah, that's why I'm wondering how the light bar will affect it.
      Pros use monitor calibrating tools tho, I believe. I guess you can save the calibration for 2-3 different light setups that you work on throughout the day.
      But the problem is, they're as costly as the monitor itself.

    • @RitchieLinao
      @RitchieLinao  Před 3 lety +1

      @@danlightened yes, pros use calibrating tools. In my country, we hire people that have spyder monitor calibrators and pay them around $10. Having different lights setup can also waste space and I think it won't be a big help as we don't know how ambient light works properly.
      it would be better to buy a monitor with 100%sRGB, then create your own monitor side and top cover so that there will be no light bouncing on the monitor. Because the BenQ is way too expensive.
      Then look for a printer that will match your monitor's color using sRGB and not Adobe RGB.
