  • Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was ordered to liquidate his personal assets in federal court on Friday. Jones must use those assets to pay the families of victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre after they won their defamation suits against him in Texas and Connecticut. Jones owes nearly $1.5 billion for repeatedly claiming the mass shooting was a hoax.

And people have a right called the 8th amendment which protects them from unjust fines and punishments. A judgement that high for slander and libel? Pharmaceutical companies whose products have killed thousands of people have paid a fraction of that when there was evidence of coverup and all. They all claimed the fines were still too high under the 8th amendment. I expected Jones to pay between 10-100 million for the case. When they said 1 billion I realized it was nonsense. It’s absolutely nonsense to make a person pay that for “mean words” or for denying the death of some children. Crazy or not, society needs people like Alex Jones and he has gone off the rails but he’s also been scarily accurate on some of wildest things he has said these last 30 years. This is a hit job to discredit him. And it’s OBVIOUS to anyone with half a brain. You don’t just throw a Billion Dollar judgement at someone who said mean or untrue things. And yet…it happened. And people like you exercising their right to disagree with him, don’t get how ludicrous it is to allow the Justice system to do that to ANYONE.

This case, & holding gun makers accountable, & punishing school shooters parents. ARE ALL THEY SAME THING "proclaiming a person is guilty knowing they didnt do the crime..".
