One issue I've found with rear-mounted tri-cages is that the bottles will leak water (or worse, sticky Gatorade type liquids) right down directly onto the rear brake pads and calipers. I've ridden twice in a row using a rear-mount on my hardtail and twice in a row have I ended up with badly contaminated brake pads and rotors. The liquid flushes out any dirt, grease or oil in and around the caliper housings and these flush right out onto the pads and rotors within minutes of my ride. So I've had to clean my pads and rotors two nights in a row. Admittedly I was using cheapo plastic water bottles containing frozen Ribena, so the dripping condensation was doing a number, combined with the leakage from the cheap Decathlon bottles. So the solution could be to use only non-refridgerated liquids combined with a "leak-proof" screw top bottle with no nozzle. I will try that and see how it goes. But man will I miss my frozen Ribena slurpees while out on a ride. But the sticky mess all over the back part of the frame was so not funny.

I use mudguards so that’s not really an issue for me.

The only problem for me is the rear break light that I have. Can't use this!

Nice video and the adapter looks like a great product. Thank you for sharing! Have you ever have problems with the bottle popping out in rough conditions? I expected the cage would experience more bouncing and shaking positioned way up at the top of the seatpost.

Bottles falling out would be a cage problem

My bottle just dropped out yesterday after going over a bump, and my water bottle cracked. Sigh (Sorry, English is not my first language)

You can get a caddy that fits into bottle cage and you can put all your tools and spares there.
