  • In this video we're addressing the first problem I have with my Mongoose Beast fat bike, and that's there are no water bottle cage mounts on the frame! We're going to be talking about different options you can use to mount a cage to your frame and then going step by step installing some mounts on the Beast! Let's get to installing our own water bottle cage mounts!

Yep, done this to steel frames not an issue. Fitted riv nuts and enjoyed thousands of miles in all weathers.

Before I watched I thought you were going to drill and tap, owning and using rivnut hardware for 30yrs glad to see that wasn’t the case. Probably one of the best solutions. Look up a deburring tools if you’re not familiar.

It was in the teens when I was filming, I have a heater in my garage though so it's not too bad in there.

Man, I've seen this before, I've done this before but not on a bike. My Polugon T8 does not have water bottle mounts and I've been tempted to.do.this, but...idk

I had always wanted to try this and finally had a chance. Pretty easy and they work good so far!
