9-1 is still an incredible record for a first VGC tourney. Congrats!
Its incredible period. Not "for a first"
@@rolandverde8771 are you tryna take away the fact that it was his first time, which makes it more impressive? Shut up
no it isnt
Smogon players stay dominant 💪🏽
It is simply incredible
Hi Freezai! This is Evan if you remember me from Orlando. It was so great to meet you and you were super chill and friendly, was super nice. I’m glad you did so well. :)
hi! i remember you, was good meeting you
youre briefly in the video for about half a second, dont know if you could see yourself
@@FreezaiPokemonYeah I saw myself haha. Feels surreal dude. I hope to see you at a future regional! :D
Wholesome pog
@@noobunderlord2464 Yeah it was pretty cool to be there and meet him, he was super friendly.
I have to congratulate everyone who made it. Unfortunately the website crashed on me so I couldn't make it and that makes me sad but I'm happy to see everyone
That’s super unfortunate 😢
@@Pam234 i know. I'm really bummed because this would of been my first tournament as well
Damn, Freezai is like a Pokemon prodigy. Incredible at Singles, impressing professional Nuzlockers with his own Nuzlocks and going 9-1 at his very first VGC tournament. Very impressive, I hope he reaches his goal of going to Japan!
"Jack Holdcroft" is one of the stupidest titles I have ever heard
@@Zorua3eing a professional at a game has been a thing for centuries. professional chess players have existed for a long time for example. i guess new thing = stupid though for some reason?
@@itsukizy Hes right though, but dont compare chess with Nuzlock, makes you seem like an amateur
You're a professional if you get paid money to do the thing youre a professional at
It's so funny to have such a chill vibe from Freezai, then to see Wolfe's team sheet be just AAAAAA, INEEDAHERO, AWOOOOOO, EEEEEEE, AMOGUS, and GOBIRD.
Also, congrats on making it top 8. You did a great job!
"It's not about winning the competition. It's about the battle and the friends you made along the way."
- Pika Tzu, The Art of Battling
But winning makes it better 😎😎😎. I didn't travel all the way here to lose
"Pika Tzu said that. And I'd say he knows a _little_ more about battling than _you_ do, pal, because he invented it! And then he perfected it so that no living pokemon could best him in the ring of honor!"
Lmao pika tzu. That’s goldenrod
Ta Tzu Giri - The art of battling
My favorite part about your content is how honest you are about situations in game and out. That part about not wanting to be the weird dude when talking with Wolfe Glick was so funny. I recently played against you in Random Battles on Showdown without realizing until the very end of the battle which was funny because I looked up at your player name because you were the first person in a while battling on there where I thought "oh this player is actually smart". You getting to topcut and working to get to go to Japan through playing is really inspirational.
I know I would be THE TOTAL OPPOSITE. I'm a guy with awful social skills who is surprisingly extroverted, creating a good recipee for awkward interactions with unknown people like he. I also know I would made some sort of mini interview, mostly about a wide picture about team he made for the tournament (No specific EVs, that's illegal) and maybe a tip or two about teambuilding, and oddly enough forget to make a photo. I know i'm a weirdo so i don't even try to hide it on those kind of scenarios, even kinda embrace my quirkiness.
You played such strong opponents! Don't feel bad for losing. Also, Chupa Cross played you during swiss, so he literally knew he had to study your team to find ways to beat it! I'm really excited to see you talk more about VGC AND in-person tournaments, since I don't see many people doing this vlogging-style kind of videos.
What a debut! Great performance and great video, good luck in future events!
Yeah fs hi Foo
Congrats for making top cut! Currently trying to make a script for my orlando experience. Doing some intense training and I hope to see you in Knoxville :)
Our games were awesome, looking forward to you doing well in Knoxville, unfortunately don't think I'll be there
@@FreezaiPokemon what why :(
Yo this is a massive achievement! Well done, and I hope you do more vgc content
This was a very impressive run for the first attempt!
This was awesome, makes me hype for CT
Man goes 9-1 in his *FIRST EVER* VGC tourney, incredible job! I think a cool video idea could be about focusing on Pokémon who want to focus on their exact HP numbers and will run either less or more IVs/EVs than they usually do to maximize recovery with leftovers / Grassy Terrain, or minimize Sand Stream damage, or whatever the case may be.
Well done sir, I was absolutely blown away by how well you did at your first event. It is rare that you see someone be this successful in the singles and doubles metas concurrently. Keep up the good work!
Despite the humbled ending to the video, you should be super proud. Top cut at your first VGC event is no joke. Not like I’d know, but I assume so since I saw people on twitter talking about this Freezai guy alongside Wolfey as being tournament standouts.
It's insane to cut your first VGC regional at 9-1, let alone with 800 competitors! I was super proud when I cut my first regional and only had to compete with 150 players back then. Incredible!
Also your team report and match reinactments, your vlogging are incredible. I've always thought to do something like this but never had the motivation to, and quite frankly is better than anything I could ever do
10:43 Gio!
Congrats Freezai this is a massive achievement. I know you will go even further in the future.
When I heard you were in Orlando this weekend I popped off, especially after hearing how much you were killing it in Swiss. I hope you're enjoying your time in VGC, it's quite a different appeal and I didn't know how much you had played in Doubles before on Showdown
What a showing for a first regional!!
Bruh, you top cut a huge event in your first time playing a new format seriously, that speaks volumes of your knowledge and handle over the game. Very impressive, head up king
Really excited to see more from you in the competitive scene Freezai, hope to see more content like this!
Huge, HUGE CONGRATS man. I was rooting for you, glad you managed to reach top32 at such a stacked event!
That's such a great idea! Really hoping these videos do well and cheering for you in the next tournaments. Hoping you qualify to Japan!
It's really cool that you're putting yourself out there and actually compete. A great start to the journey and good luck in the coming year!
So awesome to hear you’ll be going to more events! I love your content but primarily watch vgc. Loved following your run. Best of luck making it to Worlds!
Congrats Freezai! It's so cool to see you crush competition and make top cut! Always have been a lurking fan so I just want to express how much I am grateful for the PKMN Smogon and now, VGC content you've been making. Let's go my guy!
good shit freezai! was super fun hanging out at the event, cutting ur first event is insane, hope to see u at vancouver as well :]
Congrats on doing well at your first tournament and great job with the war story-style report!
Incredibly well done, and the video is so well made too! This is awesome
This was an absolute joy to watch through and through. It's great to see that you even recorded parts of your time in Orlando. And in spite of not being able to show us your games because of lack of vs recorder (thanks Gamefreak) and not being allowed to record your matches, your descriptions were more than adequate enough to paint the whole picture. All in all, you absolutely smashed it through and through. And the best part? It's only gonna keep getting better from here. Excited to see the next chapter of your journey to Japan! All the best, bhai!
was looking forward to this video, congrats on the top cut! excited to follow your journey to japan
GGs man! It was awesome to be able to talk to you quite a bit while we waited for r1. Huge congrats on the deep run at the biggest regional ever and of course it being your first! :) Awesome video recap too
Cool to see this type of content from you. Looking forward to your next tournament recap!
Incredible video. Well played and good luck moving forward!
Really cool video, I enjoy both your singles and new vgc content and I wish you the best!
Proud of you bro, been watching since you had fewer than 1000 subs and now you're turning heads at major tournaments, keep it up
LOVE the vlog style and battle recreations. Great work!
Very good run, you played really well, good luck in future tournaments
Great job, keep it up and I'll be rooting for you!
Really interesting video mate! Been here since the early days of sub 10k and it's amazing watching you progress! Keep doing what you're doing. Would be really interesting to see your journey to Japan too!
This is suuuuuch a great video. Really excited to see the rest of the journey! We would really appreciate getting a video for every tournament, even if you don’t do extremely well like in this one!
Outstanding performance! Feel happy that you made it that far at your first tournament!
Awesome video freezai I like the vlog style, excited to see the rest of the road to japan!
Congrats on the great run, looking forward to seeing you compete more in the future
i really like that you stay humble and introspective in your videos analyzing your own performance while still popping off where appropriate (the twitter followers thing was pretty funny). i wish you luck in the rest of your tournaments!
Hahahah what an awesome video! I subbed to you months ago for your informative videos. I could definitely tell you were a strong player. This tournament confirms it. May your passion for pokemon carry you far homie. 💪👍💜
Hey, just wanted to say that THIS IS AWESOME!
I never knew how the tournaments were physically held for VGC so it's cool to see, but also your story was very exciting!
I'm so happy you did as well as you did, and your explanation of points = badges, and after that its victory road really makes the whole thing seem like a pokémon master's journey!
this is crazy! haha i remember seeing you on the top cut sheet, congratulations you’re a legend
I was so hyped when i saw u there, i watche te vods all of ur game, love u content and i loved to see how did u approached, hope see more from you in and out of VGC, you're a spectacular player and you teach so much to other people, even giving some of your strategy, anyway keep going ur going to get to the top :D
Amazing first performance. Can’t wait to see the rest of the journey
Congrats on the big wins! I've always wanted to see what a tournament looks like so this Vlog style content is nice
Man, you got me into randbats and showdown by having such interesting commentary when you played. In super happy to see this new form of content it is brilliant and super enjoyable! Keep up the great work and gl with 2023 competitive vgc
This is so cool ! Congrats and GL for your japan road !
Congrats again on the run man! Was awesome getting to hang with you this weekend
Such a dope ass experience bro. Couldn’t believe you did that well. Congrats!
That is amazing for you first tournament! Congratulations, great job!
Makes my heart happy to see more people in VGC, thanks for spreading the good word, good luck with the rest of the season!
Congrats freezai!! So happy for you to get so far in your first competition in VGC!! Keep it up man!
Thank you for the tournament report, it was really interesting to hear how your games went. I especially liked hearing some of the real world concerns of attending the tournament and what it takes to attend worlds. Best of luck in the next one!
You're inspiring bro. Myself and many others want to take the dive and compete but just don't have the confidence in themselves to make the commitment. Thank you for helping us overcome that. Great job competing in Orlando.
Hey man, congrat! I never knew you played VGC. Both you and Wolfey got me into the competitve scene of the game and im so thankful for it!
Bro I'm so proud you did so well in this! I really enjoyed this video and I look forward to future content.
The VGC content that I didn't know I needed. Thanks for putting all the work in, recreating games from memory just to provide "ingame" footage!
9-1 in your first event... I was watching it live and you did really well, you're really talented man! I look forward to more VGC content of yours!
Wow! Thats a lot better than my first vgc event. It's so exciting seeing you put your all in
Great video man
More of this please, very inspiring!
Great showing man. Can't wait for the rest of your season to come out. Also I was pleasantly surprised to see you're from the sub-continent
Congrats Freezai! I was so surprised to see you in the top cut without previous VGC in person experience! Incredible achievement! You sure made it to worlds with this consistency. Showing Smog players are legit no matter where! Cheers.
Well done Freezai!! Thanks for sharing with us
This video was great! Do hope you can make more videos like this in other competitions!
Good stuff, gl on the season.
really excited for this and rooting for you man
incredible for a first event, good luck on making that worlds invite!
Congratulations!. Amazing for a first tournament 👏
I was watching the stream and I didn’t think anything of it at first, then I saw your gamertag and I was like I know this dude! Great seeing you there and congratulations on the result!
Incredible performance and good luck with your VGC journey!
Congratulations on placing so high in Day 1, dude!! I live nearby but couldn't attend this year Dx I would have loved to cheer you on!
Top cut First try damn what a Great achievement!!
Love how you explain your gameplans in singles and vgc.
Congrats on your 9-1 run, that's awesome in general and especially awesome for your first event! Once I heard that Freezai was at Orlando and was dominating all of his opponents, I got super excited for you. Orlando was also my first event too and it was a super cool environment, I had so much fun. I went 6-4 myself. I was curious what making it on stream is like, as that's a goal of mine for future events, so I appreciate you sharing details on how that experience works. I hope I can meet you at a future event, I'll be at Charlotte next!
Also I made it in the video! At 18:57 that's me in the blue backpack and black Orioles hat :D
Been waiting for the recap. Great job had no idea which player you were until i found comments.
Nice job!! Love seeing my favorite Pokémon content creators do well in tournaments. Never expected to see a VGC top cut.
Wow the freezai vgc Era. Now I can tell my vgc friends I played this guy in a singles tournament where he also shreds lmao. Can't wait to watch you at more events unfortunately I wasn't at Orlando and probably won't be at alot of these events but I wanna hear you're story about vgc. I also wanna play you bc I'm a vgc player too but maybe one day lol
Nice team and result mate; congratulations
My first time was Orlando as well! I didn’t do as good as you but I’m proud of myself for even going! Congrats on your run!!!
Congratulations! Great video
This is such a great video, Thanks Freezai
Awesome video
hahahah i made it into your video! at 19:48
Congratulations on making the top cut. As someone who mainly plays doubles, it’s great to see you exploring vgc style battles
That's still damn impressive. You have so much to be proud of already while still having a long way to go
This was so amazing. This journey is rarely talked about and it sounds fascinating
I watch the restream of your matches just yesterday. I could instantly recognize them
YESSSSS GET IT FREEZAI!!! 🥰🥰🥰 Congratulations on an amazing first badge, and thank you for sharing your journey with us!
I used to play VGC in Gen 5-7 and I loved it. It's so fantastic to see how it's grown and I very much look forward to this series and wish you the best of luck.
