  • This video will show you how to program most Lexus, Toyota ECU key immobilizer after ECU swap it's common to have ECU damage after accident on most Lexus and Toyota vehicles.. This video will show you a 2013 Lexus is250 ECU being cloned.
    THIS IS THE BEST AND VERY AFFORDABLE SCAN TOOL. I ONLY RECOMMEND THIS ONE. I USE IT IN ALL OF MY CZcams VIDEOS.

    Seems that a lot of dealers are buying ECU/ECMs, etc. from the local ECU/ECM shops. You can get ECU/ECMs repaired or replaced fairly cheap now days. The dealers are marking up replacement units and programming - as expected.

    You do realize that was completely unnecessary, right? All Toyota/Lexus with the separate Immobilizer ECU (like your IS) have the ability for the Engine ECU and Immo ECU to be resynced without any special equipment. The process literally involves jumping 2 pins in the DLC (4 & 13), turning on ignition without starting engine and waiting 30 minutes, then turn key off, remove jumper and verify vehicle starts. Toyota calls this "ECU Communication Registration." This works if you replace the engine ECU and still have one or more original keys (to the vehicle) .. it does not matter if the replacement Engine ECU is new or used. This process can also be used if you are replacing the Immo ECU with a BRAND NEW one (so called "virgin" one), but will NOT work if you are replacing the Immo ECU with a used Immo ECU because I doesn't reset the keys to the Immo ECU, it resets the communication between the Immo ECU and Engine ECU.

    • @melniksmotors
      @melniksmotors  Před 8 lety

      Yes that will also work but on a car that has a smart key start system it will not work as it will not let you turn on ignition also it will not write vin number or rewrite vin number in a user or new ecu. Then later when you hook up scan tool it will not read no vin or if its a used exu it will be reading old previous vehicles vin number.

Do you know if this is done using the SmartBox, or the ECU? Im hoping to be able to read the relevant ECU eeprom, zero it out and reload it back in. Thanks!

Cant you just pop in the alternate ECU and short pin 4 and 13 and wait 30 minutes like your other video. and then use techstream to write the vin back into ecu? or is there any other information that this process will cover that the steps above wont? I think the mileage is in the cluster and the key information is in the smart key module.

      Did you ever find the answer to this? Im very curious. I think newer cars have atleast 3 computers ECU/ECM, Immobilizer, and Smart Key. This is in addition to one for power and electronics inside.

    Actually the new ECM aka computer wont need any programming cause it has a program in it intended to be learned automatically once installed on the car
    good job though

      Is this from a factory new ECU or just one that is new to the vehicle meaning it could of been a previously used unit.

      Dee Lee it should factory new never been installed unit once installed it will marry the security system

      Actually i just tried with used ECM and it was working. Thank you for the suggestion

      Dee Lee yes this 👆 could be done with a previously programed EEPROM there is another way though which is rewriting the EEROPM data with a programmer software like Carprog or Vprog (look it up) without a need for the old maybe toasted ECM , some websites offer the Virgin EEPROM file for sale too. Good luck 👍

      I was playing around with trying to solder wires onto an epprom. My goodness its difficult. But i figured if you can marry a used ecu to the car. There is little benefit to writing eprom data. The Vin can be written to the ECU with techstream and immobilizer will be set after process. So with the old EEprom what other important data will there be? I think the odometer is stored somewhere else. Thank you i will look into carprog and vprog for other vehicles.

    Where is the chip injector in ecu

    but how to know the original eeprom is also damaged or not.? i mean eeprom data

    • @melniksmotors
      @melniksmotors  Před 8 lety

      Eeprom data hardly ever gets damaged. Even if its a flood car you can still copy eeprom data. If eeprom chip not cracked or busted it should have all data, unless you apply direct voltage to the wrong pins.

    I'm confused. You didn't program shit haha, you just swapped the eeproms. Why not just read the eeprom data from old ecu and write to new ecu, actually programming it..
