  • I know I screwed this video up but everything you need to know is there. Jumper in dlc between pin 4 and 13 with key on for 30 minutes to pair pcm and immobilizer and autel 906 or most scanners to write the vin.

    I used this on a 2006 Toyota Corolla s. I was having weird codes on a previous ecu about throttle body. Changed it same issues. Changed ecu, was getting crank but no start. After using this technique I’m getting the start. Preciate it so much!

    The reason for the failure after VIN write is likely because of the slow write times of FLASH memory. The scanner is not waiting long enough after writing before reading to verify. As an engineer, I see this in flash memories all too often. A software tweak to the scanner tool to add a delay before reading would solve the problem.

    Excellent video and explanation...
    Questions...Step 1...Disconnect battery...Step 2: Remove old ECU...Step 3..Install and connect the other ECU (new or other)...Step 3: Connect battery....Step 4..Jump 4 & 13 terminals...Step 5 ...Key on for 30 min or more...and must see lights blinking on dash... Step 6...Remove jumper wire...Step 7...Start Engine...
    And after engine starts...the VIN can be done? Or in other step?
    Thanks!

    I have a question to ask you or anyone reading this comment. I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla. I lost the key so I had a couple people come out to cut a key and reprogram the key. One person said the 'immobilizer amplifier' was broken and that's why they could not reprogram the key. A few days passed and I found the original key however it would not start the car because the old key was erased from the computer and the car was in program mode with the security light on. I bought a new key, ignition, immobilizer amplifier, ECU all from the same make and model and all from the same car so they were already merried together. When I put the parts in my car it would turn over but not fire up. The car was running perfectly fine before I lost the key. Any ideas on how to fix this or what I can do to finally get the car started ?

    Hi Jack, great video hoping you can advise. I've acquired a 2010 Corolla key less entry. It has been vandalized. Lock and keys gone, ignition switch gone. Damage to steering shaft. If I could get an entire suite of parts from a single salvage vehicle including door, glove box and trunk locks, full steering column with a working key and maybe even the PCM, would installing all these parts get me a working and starting car? Would it need any computer programming to get the car started? I'm in Canada. The locksmiths here are giving me mixed signals.

    I bought a 2017 Toyota Tacoma from the auction and it was a theft recovery, so there was many parts missing including the ECU immobilizer and of course no key fob, it is a push start with the smart key, so I ordered a used ECU from eBay and I got the immobilizer module and from a local wrecking yard and a smart key fob from a body of mine.
    Now I installed the ECU the immobilizer and got the key fob present, I followed the steps jumping the pins on the OBII I tried to started and it just cracking but it won't start, I jumped it few more times and is the same problem no start, I even barrow an ANCEl-X6 from a friend and i just can't get it to run.
    So if there any chance that you can give me a hand with it? I would appreciate it if you do thanks and have a great day

    Are you a locksmith? Just curious. If so what's it take and how much to get the stuff needed (paperwork) to be able to write it.
    Also if you have a J-Box like the Drew Tech 2 or 3 I think it is and go thru the mfr site can you do it that way? I'm sure there's a fee for that is my guess?
    Also I should check my Zeus scan tool as I'm always learning with it each time I pick it up. Wish I was picking it up daily at least a few times a day as I'd definitely retain more that way.

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 5 lety +3

      Yes I am. You have to register through the nastf. Its kind of a mess right now because they are going through a migration to the sdrm . You need to have a business license both local and state, if required like here in california, insurance with them specifically listed on your policy, a background check, professional references ( they do actually call everyone). I can't remember anything else off the top of my head. It does take about 6 weeks to get it. I use a drew jbox but really prefer a vci. My bosch mastertech is my daily programmer. You can get pincodes from the oems through their website or the nastf but you must have your lsid attatchedt to your login when registering with most of them. If not they block you from security access and only let you program. There are ways to work around getting pins strictly from oems and most of us use the ones that work. Getting securty codes from oem websites or token systems come with a high price and definitely cut into profits. Honestly, With all the cost behind becoming a locksmith (tools, insurance, key stock, etc.) It's very difficult to make a living doing keys only. I do a quite a bit but make more programming , repairing modules, diagnostics and wiring repairs.

      No. Ford is different. You’ll need to program the VIN into the used PCM. The programmer will also do a key reset which will either require 2 keys or just one if it’s a parameter reset. You can program the keys only, but you’ll get VIN mismatch codes.
