I saw somewhere that the binding is pretty crappy and was wondering if that was true?

This sold out fast! Hope it gets reprinted again. This was the first comic series I ever started collecting as a child. Glad to see it coming back. Jae Lee's art transports you to this world.

The Dark Tower somehow has lots of similarities to my series, The Dark Descent.
I won't explain them because I'm not trying to say King stole my idea, as the series started in 1982, and I was born in 2007.
But I will say, this is how I see the series going to:
    Very long novels
    Tv show and movies
    Graphic novels

I was suprised how proud of those characters I felt. Eddie, Suzannah, Jake, and of course, Roland..... their growth was so intense, their quest so epic, way better than lord of the rings, and loved so much that all his books, all tied into the dark tower. Damn, the books were soooooooo good. I remember when my mother bought me the first book, and at first I was kinda mad... "What, King is writing westerns...!!!!', although i did like some westerns.... wasn't expecting, but after a chapter or two.... damn, was hooked so hard. And years in between books, that was tough. Then boom, boom, boom, last three. Wow. Absolutely mind blowing world.

What a bummer about the size. I'll still probably get it though.

I would have so bought this had it been oversized....ugh. Terrible first impression from a company I am not familiar with.

    Got these in trades.
    Over all ok at best.
The stand series is miles better.
Wish the stand Omni would reprint.

The dark tower was what stopped me buying Stephen king books.
I was already a bit galled at the ‘this is it the complete ‘the stand’ with all the parts that were not included!’ which was a blatant cash in, and was not just what was left out of the original, but included stuff that given the timeline could not be known about when it was first published. If it’s expansion, say it’s an expansion.
With the dark tower I bought the first installment in large format paperback with colour plates, and was hooked. But as it went on, the story quality just went downhill and seemed more an exercise in selling books rather than story writing....it felt like another cash in.
And then the ending - what a fucking cop out!
Not bought a single Stephen king book since.
