I saw it mentioned there is a lot of black-and-white art, so I had to check out a video. Thanks for making this. I wonder if the issues in B&W read well or if they were meant for color? I could see them being difficult to read if the artists never intended to release them un-colored. I do read manga (Japanese comics) sometimes, and those are mostly black and white, so I would not be bothered by the lack of color if the content is readable.

Thanks for posting this. From the little research I've done, people seem to like either run in this book (of the two long runs), so I think there's a good chance a reader will like either or both parts. I like the looks of this Captain Marvel omnibus and Kelly Thompson's Captain Marvel the most!

Thanks for the video! I am really excited about this reprint. Any idea what the street date is for these? I pre-ordered the DM cover a while back (before it was listed as Sold Out), but haven't gotten any order updates and the street date is still listed as 07/30, which was almost two weeks ago.

This is following Barry dying in the original crisis even, crisis on infinite earth. Wally became The Flash in the final issue of crisis but didn’t get his own (this) series after the Legends event a year later.

Wally can time travel without the aid of cosmic treadmill, so yes he is faster, though it is Barry who created the speed force.

You should start reading omnibus and doing reviews on it. pick a character you enjoy.

I met Garth Ennis at a convention here in Sydney just before the launch of Hitman. He told me he had a new book coming out that I might be interested in. Quite an understatement: I bought every issue plus all the Annuals and miniseries and submitted letters for just about every issue, many of which were printed. I've always been grateful to DC for allowing Ennis and McCrea to end the character in style with the JLA/Hitman miniseries. A couple of omnibus editions reprinting all the Hitman tales would sure look good on the shelves.

Good overview for these books. That Spider-Man books had some of thhe first issues I read thbat made me into a big fan.🙂 One improvement is when you flick through the books it isn't always clear. Could I suggest a top down view quickly and then do more through overview like you've been doing also. Thanks man😁

Batman, originally created in 1939, is a character I personally prefer in his original form. Back then, he was a creepy, shadowy figure who blended into the night and was genuinely feared by criminals. He was a true detective and a human hero, relying on his intellect, detective skills, and human abilities to fight crime. This made him a complex character, grounded in realism and intrigue. Today's modern version of Batman, however, has diverged significantly from that original concept. While he has evolved in many ways, incorporating advanced technology and often being portrayed as almost superhuman, he has lost some of the qualities that made him unique. The essence of Batman as a master detective and a human hero has been overshadowed by the more fantastical elements of his persona. For me, the original Batman, with his gritty detective work, human vulnerabilities, and eerie presence, remains the definitive version of the Dark Knight.
