Big Nick with some great insights! Mike North would be a huge coup! I used to watch him do the schedule release with Pater King, who, of course, retired.Good luck. Side note: Netflix has 270 million subs worldwide. Nick's Netflix rationale about postponing the schedule release makes perfect sense.

The Chiefs need to pay a small number of top guys, like Mahomes, Jones, and Kelce.
I think the LEAGUE prefers players chase the fattest contract possible. It has a similar effect as handicapping in horse racing. The more races won, the more weight the horse has to carry. It keeps things competitive and uncertain.
If one team has multiple players playing for less than they could garner in free agency, that team has a HUGE advantage over the rest of the league. The league doesn't like dynasties. For maximum revenue, they want every team's fan base to feel like they always have a shot, every year.
As a KC fan, and as an amateur analyst, I've always wanted to see more loyalty from the players, and less short-term greed, but the overall NFL product is probably better when players chase the money.
OTOH, paying Mahomes , Jones, and (now) Kelce top dollar is good for player relations/morale. You really need to have some guys who are among the top-paid at their position. Enough to make it seem like KC's more generous.
I'm surprised Chiefs did not sign Zay Jones for just over $4 million ....that looked like a steal

What did the video show? Until there is a decision this kind of talk is just chatter from a master debater.
Players want the ball….chiefs have too many middling receivers like kt and sky who are just hanging around
I’m worried that rice gets a huge suspension (1 year) to really set an example that this type of dangerous car behavior can’t be tolerated, due to Henry Ruggs incident still being fresh. I do think Rice’s lawyers should be able to push the possible trial past the 24 season though unless they take a plea agreement and then could be mid season. Thoughts?
Agree. Goodell suspended Willie Gay a lot of games for breaking a vacuum cleaner.
Bottom line is you never know what the commissioner's office will do in any give case. Obviously Rice is facing legal penalties that would make a suspension irrelevant. Many times extenuating circumstances are integral to the length of the suspension. It's really hard to know for sure until the legal process plays out. But Rice has history on his side if the commissioner decides to deliver a huge suspension because some players of late have won their appeals when the commissioner levied heavier suspensions.
It's been almost a week since it came out and he's yet to be charged..Gut tells me they don't have enough
