After years and hours of making the most complicated designs, here we see a man that has thrown away everything to make a farm so basic he could fit a full tutorial in the vid. Truly inspiring stuff, maybe the best things are the simple things :)
Thanks a ton was gonna start farming for hours on my first decently progressed hardcore world and thought there had a better way and found this video. Farm works great 😊.
Made this farm and it works amazingly! Great video only issue was how fast you were going, i was pausing maybe every 2 seconds so it took me maybe 30 minutes too build which is fine its well worth the time and that's just that nature of tree farms as they are quite complicated. But yours is by far the best ive seen so i have no issues taking my time with the build. No issues with this farm besides the automatic bonemeal part, as my bonemeal runs out in my hand far before i get refilled from the system but i have bonemeal farm nearby anyway so it's not biggie. Great vid my man
cheers ty! and just to clarify I was going fast because I was hastily trying to make the video less than 10 minutes (won't be doing this again coz a lot of people have mentioned I was too quick) and it's only self sustaining in nether tree mode
Hi. Great farm and well modified from Ian's. But some constructive feedback here. It would be great if you would explain in more detailed when you placed down the materials. There were too many parts where you skipped mentioning certain important blocks/slabs that I have to watch it multiple time to get it right since you are placing the things very fast. Also, since you're using cobblestone, it's even harder to see whether it is a slab or full block. So maybe use smooth stones next time so that it is easier to see the partition or at least use different materials between slabs and a full block. Someone like me likes to follow along the video rather than download the world/schematics to copy. Other than that, you actually have a great tutorial. Earned a sub here. Looking forward to your future videos.
thank you, I've had alot of feedback about the pacing of this video but it's never been explained as eloquently as you just did :) currently working on a next gen fungus farm tutorial and will be taking my time and explaining more along the way
Agreed. I was getting really stressed out missing things and rewinding to see what you did over and over to get it right. I'm a redstone noob so this ended up being super hard to build.
The tutorial was still really good for how much was going on!! @Subwo0f3r I highly recommend learning Litematica, or ncolyer has the world download to help look at how each piece is configured!
Hey i am getting some trouble qith the last sorting system....the one with only a comparator and 3 redstone dusts... It does not sort items... any suggestions?
That is awesome, this is exactly what I have been waiting to do myself since Ian published the original video. I already have a UTF, and mainly wanted Ian's farm for Nether trees/fungi. Laziness and procrastination once again paid off, thanks!
that's lovely to hear. with this farm you kinda surprise yourself when you finish building it coz you're like, "ok finished the tnt duper now what", but like... that's just it ur done
==MATERIAL LIST== (for those who would like it in text form) >> GENERAL ITEMS > REDSTONE COMPONENTS > RAW INGREDIENTS FOR REDSTONE COMPONENTS 30 hoppers 6 --> 12 kelp 23--> 24 redstone Based on a reply
We need 30 hoppers, 12 kelp, and 24 redstone dust (correcting the materials list provided by the channel based on my experience with the tutorial). I also think we only need 13 signs even after placing the instruction signs - I brought 15 signs (since they're made in sets of 3) and I had 2 extra signs left over. Edit: I couldn't get the 3rd item filter to work, and based on one of the comments and ncolyer's response, it's a flaw with the design - the filter system is interrupted by the redstone clock. The response was to use the new tutorial instead (link in the vid description), so I've dismantled this farm to build the 2nd one (it does include mangrove trees too so at least there's some worth to rebuilding all this).
I wish you would describe more, like instead of saying doing this, for things that are positional either add directionality or a world reference litematica. Also using polished blocks makes it easier to follow for future videos. But amazing design and still so happy to have a tutorial just some advice for future videos. Love to see the complexity yet simplicity
hey thanks for the feedback, I probs shouldve used polished blocks I just used cobble to make it seem more early game of a farm also I provide a schematic and world download for it to follow along in case u get stuck as far as the explanations go, I shouldve described things a bit more maybe but I was trying to make this a less than 10 minute vid which required cutting out those parts
@@ncolyer OMG I didn't think you would respond. I just saw the schematic, so sorry. I also totally understand the benefit of it being a shorter video, but as a slower builder for redstone farms it helps a ton. I'm relatively slow so it just helps a ton. Also I never realized the usefulness of polished blocks until an old impulse iron golem farm and noticing counting blocks are easier. But after I get past the 3 minute mark section (the middle water island thingy), it is seemingly easier, and honestly very straight forward.
Wow I'm so happy!!! I took ages trying to figure out all the things I did wrong with the tnt duper and item sorting, and finally figured it out thanks to the faq document. Thank you so much for the incredible farm, and hard work answering questions!! The farm works great!! 😊
It certainly is simplified from the crazy farms you're capable of, but 15 mins might be a stretch for anyone but you! I spent probably 6 hours and another 4 tweaking it last night; but I'm a n00b and was having a lot of fun :)
Hey, love the farm! One suggestion: when going at this speed, please use a different-looking slab so it's easier for those following to distinguish between a full block and a half slab. We ran into a couple problems when troubleshooting with exactly that!
yea no clue why i decided to use cobble for this when i use smooth stone for basically everything else, maybe coz it's cheaper? anyways thanks for the feedback, will keep that in mind when i redo this tutorial
thank you, and now there's a tutorial so u can make it (although im pretty sure u mean design stuff like this on ur own which u can do too with enough trial and error :)
@@ncolyer yeah the second one, I don't really use build by build tutorials anymore. Either way I'm going to have a lot of fun looking at this in creative.
I mostly used to focus a lot on rates and lag efficacy in my designs with very little respect for earlygame resources, but I've been having a lot of fun seeing how much I can strip bare farms and it's surprisingly fun but challenging. It does make me feel sometimes like I'm a complete idiot though when the farms look so simple :P
@@whenthingsfly4283 making or explaining complex things simply is one of the best skills you can have, especially for education and just communication in general too
Lovely design, works like a charm. The only thing i noticed is that on your material list you put 16 hoppers when you actually end up using 30 . Besides that , great work!
the tnt blows up the iron bar (which the troubleshooting guide says isnt necessary so whatever), the 2 leftmost and rightmost fence gates from the user's point of view, and the block the saplings get planted on. any idea how to fix? Figured it out, I built the area where the trees are planted and the tnt drops one block too low
I had to fun few trials because some parts were confusing or the tnt didnt worked, but after downloading the world and seeing what has been misplaced, I got it running smoothly. Thanks for the farm it works quite well. I've only tried birch wood but will test out other trees.
Since I have built this farm and it is working, I wanted to say thanks. I am playing on a paper server, where I was able to ask the admin to change the needed plugins to make the duper work. I only had to fix 1 issue of a solid block being powered by the clock and blocking the hopper closest to the collection platform. I replaced it with glass. I haven't tried to farm Nethertrees yet, but Spruce and Azalea have worked! I hope when farming the Nethertrees, that I can position myself properly to collect from both droppers, because I am a bit worried about that not working correctly. Mostly worried because I need to stand closer to 1 side of the chain to place the fungi and that might position me to far away from the other dropper.
hi, you have 0.05 blocks of leeway either side of the chain u lean against, that solid block powering issue is mentioned in the description, and that's great u were able to get the paper configure changed
Still, it's annoying to make almost the same number of hoppers after gathering the resources and while building the farm. Nonetheless, thank you this farm is really OP, now I have way more wood than I need, after just half an hour :D
Great design! Just finished building this, and it works great, despite a couple problems in 1.20.2 I’m still figuring out its quirks, but I finally gave up on keeping the chain in front of the iron bar in place. The last couple of TNT that drop when you turn off the farm would break it every time. I finally just left it off since I’m not going to AFK farm with this. Usually a couple of TNT is all it takes to remove a block that ends up there, so it’s a slight hit to efficiency. I also swapped out the chain in front of the player for a fence gate. I can still reach the block to plant the sapling, and then when I want to switch blocks I can open it and walk out on the platform. That’s one other quirk, make sure you place a block OVER the planting block you’re going to remove first, THEN remove the block. Otherwise your water will flow all over the place and you’ll have to fix it. Don’t ask me how I know this, lol. I’ve tried it with acacia and both types of fungus so far. One thing I’ll say though, I had to slow this video down to 0.5 speed and even then I had to frequently pause and rewind to see what you were doing. I like building it myself first in creative then creating my own Litematica schematic. To say you build at a fast pace would be an understatement, lol. Thanks for the great farm. I’m off to go try it with different trees now.
Really impressive farm. One problem I got and cannot figure it out: When I flick the lever down to select for small trees (azalea and acacia and birch etc) then the tnt damages me at the chain area. It also breaks the switch under the bonemeal dropper area, the second chain and the iron bar below the obsidian. I get the impression that for some reason the tnt timing might be a bit off. Perhaps it needs to be set slightly earlier? But I am not sure how to accomplish that
Not sure what I'm doing wrong but the TNT is not drooping for me I've watched video a few times now and it looks the same but cant seem to get it to work
if this duper isnt working either; you built it wrong; you're on a server with tnt duping disabled; or you have some mod interfering with it. in either case check the world download to see you built it properly, server config to check tnt duping is enabled if on paper else you can try this alternative duper design: czcams.com/video/povFs7-MjLQ/video.html
Only thing I would like to point out , the bottommost hopper of the first item sorter gets locked by the clock circuit. In my case I had to replace block between that hopper and clock's farm sided dust with a glass block..(I may have done some error while building initially maybe)....otherwise the farm is excellent...
For future tutorials, please slow down and don't place/destroy blocks without talking about them. The item collection system is good, but man was this frustrating to follow.
have u tried watching on half speed maybe? you can re-watch the video as many times as you need to and at whatever speed so pacing isn't really a factor imo
@@ncolyer The point people are trying to make is that there's a difference between building and teaching someone to build. This is a good build video, but it's not a great tutorial video. You need to slow down, and emphasize each block placement. Or, at least pause after every few blocks, to show the changes. Also, as others have said, you need to clarify when you're switching between blocks and slabs. When I want to build something following a video, I would much rather watch an hour long tutorial than a build video at 1/4 speed. Thanks for the work you put into this! I still have to learn how to use it, but I've got it basically working, now.
Hey love your content !! I was just wondering how do you get the automatic warped fungus/saplings when using the farm. I'm guessing you need to manually put the saplings/fungus in the chest which will then be dropped during the process ?
On 1:33 When u set up the item sorter I’ve done exactly as said but no logs actually end up in the chests, they just end up in the hoppers that are directed to the composters above
I've been following this tutorial block for block, had to run back and get some more items. A lot of the stuff on the material list are not fully specific, other than that great video!
Hi! I found the channel thanks to this video. I really like the tutorial but please, PLEASE use a building block easier to count like smooth stone, wool for different modules and glass whenever there is something behind (like water). Is not only about presentation, it also make so much easier to understand the mechanisms. Another advice is that you don't need to squish everything in this kind of contraption. I got the map, moved the clock above the player and just comfortably expanded the storage, keeping a similar area without being excessively tight.
@@ncolyer I was thinking the same thing whilst building it. Also, I can't figure out how to operate it. Which levers do I flip while harvesting warped fungus?
Why is my dirt block breaking? Ive double checked everything and its built correct. If there is no tree planted then the block and the iron bar breaks. Could someone help me?
check to see that you've built the tnt duper at the right height, if you placed not enough scaffolding then the tnt can drop a bit higher or lower and break the iron bar plus scaffolding
works good other than the tnt doesn't seem to reach fully down before exploding, must have built the tnt machine up 1 block higher on accident, other than that it works great
Just trying to make some good feedback, the tutorial was really hard to follow, since you could have used different materials for slabs and full blocks, such as stone and cobble, for example. Also, you could have given more specific instructions, as to where to build certain parts. Other than that, I'm still building the farm, will update once I finish. Update: So far so good, the farm presents 0 problems, so far. I have made some mistakes though, and can confirm the farm is resistant enough to human errors.
hey idk if i wasnt paying attention or not, but which lever turns on the tnt duper? edit: nvm i rewatched. also i accidentally broke the scaffolding and now the farm doesnt work, solution? edit 2: nvm i figured it out
I appreciate the video but bro please slow down. Maybe put in a transition slide when you change out your inventory or starting on the next part of the build. Im still having a hard time keeping up at 0.5x playback speed
He used 18 hoppers in this design, not 16. Not that it matters too much, I just had all the resources made already and ran out. Great farm, btw! Make that 24 hoppers. Nope. 30 hoppers. Also missing 5 building blocks and one stair, for some reason. End up having an extra 8 slabs and 7 signs.
Hey just built the farm on the server I'm playing on but the dirt block keeps exploding I checked the world download and I'm 99% sure I got everything right but every time I start the farm the dirt will be fine for the first few explosion's and then It is destroyed wondering if anyone else has this issue or if you have a fix for it.
The way I fixed it was moving the piston up top that pushes the tnt when its falling over 1 and still having it connected with Redstone dust. Only negative so far is whenever i get a massive oak tree some logs may not get blown up, so you'll have to go up and break those unfortunately.
Hey so I know you can do mushrooms if you change it to podzol but do you need to flick any of the other levers? To make these harvestable. Also what is a large fungi? Are all nether trees large fungi?
I do not get dispensed bonemeal or saplings when using the farm, could someone help with that? And how do you get sapling, does they not just get composted in that composter place leading up to the bonemeal/sapling dispenser?
The items are stuck on the water bubble elevator thingy and doesnt move forward from the waterlogges slab. so none of the items go in to the first hoppers. can somebody help me with this?
check that you waterlogged the correct block and didn't place any additional water sources to the side or anything. checking the world download should help too
yea sorry about that I've heard from a lot of people that I went too fast, for my next tutorial I've slowed things down alot but for now ig u can just watch the vid on half speed or something
Tested on 1.20.1 WORKS perfect, BUT i take a lot to build... Video is so fast that you must pause every 1-2 second to see what happend. 10 min tutorial took me around 30-45 min to build.
hi thanks for the feedback, did you see the link at the top of the pinned comment? it outlines a bunch of changings im planning on making to both this tutorial and the farm, one of which involves the speed I build the farm at
man that stuff in the pinned comment is for an upcoming video. all I'm saying is I understand your feedback and am now working on implementing it in video form
@@ncolyer oh and another thing, maybe try to build in survival(was hard to see when you used slab/full block) so we can track your items more easy, and no cuts when you move from a zone of the farm to other cuz is confusing.
Am I missing something? Or are the materials required section off by pretty significant amounts? I'm doing this in survival and have had to circle back to make double the hoppers and scaffolding.
scaffolding should be correct but yea when i did the mats list for the hoppers i forgot to include the ones for the composting system and i apologise for that
Had to watch the whole thing at .25x speed but still a great farm, im not sure if it makes bonemeal fast enough though, so i might attach a moss farm to the side
@ncolyer yea I had it firing both at once, filled the right double chest with bonemeal and AFKed for like an hour or so, then found myself out of bonemeal and just a big pile of it to my right that my character never picked up. So honestly idk. I've been AFKing at the IanXO4 Wither skeleton farm to get bones for more bonemeal though
made this today in 1.20.4, the tnt does not reach the base block of the tree, everything functions perfectly EXCEPT the block where im supposed to be placing saplings just doesnt get exploded, almost makes the entire farm worthless which sucks, unless i built something wrong which im fairly sure i didnt, the base block of the tree does not explode
place anther piston below the piston that he placed at 8:40 the issue will be fixed but u might start getting damage from the TNT for me i added an reg becone with iron armor and i didn't die don't make the duiper 1 block below as he mentioned in other comments i tried that it made me a lot of other issues maybe the farm arent working that good with the lastest updates
so you either made the duper at the wrong height, or the timings on the redstone clock were set incorrectly. maybe have a look at the world download in the latest version if you need help understanding that, or that the farm works in the latest version
EDIT: PAY ATTENTION TO HOW YOU POWER YOUR LEVERS. My original issue had to do with me mixing up a few of the states of the farm. Ignore the conversation below if you have your levers powered/unpowered correctly. The farm works great for everything else, but I take damage and knockback from the TNT when I turn on the pusher for jungle trees. I also can't ever seem to get enough jungle saplings to sustain the farm. I started with two stacks and slowly got down to just 16 over ~20 minutes. Not that big of a deal considering 2x2 tree mining is probably just as fast as this, but I figured I'd ask to see if this has anything to do with me not using the pusher. I built this in my single player world following the schematic in the description, so I don't know what the problem is. I've also pasted the schematic into a creative work, and the same thing happens there.
will look into this but I didn't encounter this issue when using it so maybe see you've built everything properly and sometimes you can get really bad rng with the jungle saplings dropping
@@ncolyer No worries, I found where I went wrong. The signs in the schematic didn't paste with the instructions you wrote, and one of the things I wrote instead was backwards. Everything works just fine lol
HOW TO TURN ON TNT DUPER= its used off the lever on the floor the one he doesnt explain that makes the loop start opening/closing trap door that transfers power to the scaffolding which needs to be complete placed as he says and behind the observer at the top then it should start and work good
crazy you say I don't explain it when I literally do after saying the trapdoor needs to be placed on the top half of the block so that it transfers a signal to the scaffolding after being powered
Good tutorial. I wish you would slow down a bit while your building or make what you say match what you are building every time. Sometimes you build really fast and dont say that you are building something
hey, i just made this farm and everything works besides the TNT duper, it seems like the redstone clock at the bottom isn't sending signals through to the scaffolding, how do I fix this?
man you commented like 4 hours ago. check the top link in the pinned comment, I'm in the middle of developing a new version taking into account the 800 or so comments I've gotten on this video and nearly all of which I've replied to. this persons issue is literally just they forgot to put the trapdoor on the top half of the block instead of the bottom which I mention in the tutorial.
awesome build, sorry if this is a dumb question but is the wood farmed from the trees supposed to go into the players inventory or the chests at the bottom? im a minecraft noob but wanted to try this out lol
please help, when i place a tree and bonemeal it, the tree grows but when the tnt drops everything gets destroyed expect where the sapling gets planted (there is still wood there) what do i do
Hello, I have made this farm down to every detail, and the farm works, but it seems to barely drop any wood for some reason. I get small amounts of wood to my inventory equivalent to maybe 2 logs per tree, but none in the chests. I am on 1.19.3 on a paper spigot server and trying to farm oak trees. Can anyone help?
if you're on a paper or spigot server then that will most likely break the farm as that changes actual game mechanics like tnt duping and redstone timings
maybe im late in commenting this but im having problems with the water stream that goes next to you for some reason im picking up the blocks through the other solid blocks. why is it doing this and is there any way to fix it? Thanks alot for the tutorial only a little to fast but yet again Thank you!
hey thanks I'm not sure what you mean by pick up through the other solid blocks? it might be coz ur not standing in the correct spot or have built something a bit off
I built your designed but clearly I did something wrong, I tried looking into it and I think the issue is that the observer from the tnt duper doesnt read the signal of the clock through the scaffholdings. The redstone on the tnt duper doesnt get any input even when the farm is turned on. I'm playing on a Java Realm in 1.20.5 I don't if that could be related in any way to my issue. I will try to look into it more but if somebody could tell me how I could fix it It would be appreciated since I'm no redstone expert :)

How to turn on tnt duper
That is awesome, this is exactly what I have been waiting to do myself since Ian published the original video. I already have a UTF, and mainly wanted Ian's farm for Nether trees/fungi. Laziness and procrastination once again paid off, thanks!
that's lovely to hear. with this farm you kinda surprise yourself when you finish building it coz you're like, "ok finished the tnt duper now what", but like... that's just it ur done
==MATERIAL LIST==
(for those who would like it in text form)
>> GENERAL ITEMS > REDSTONE COMPONENTS > RAW INGREDIENTS FOR REDSTONE COMPONENTS 30 hoppers
6 --> 12 kelp
23--> 24 redstone
Based on a reply
legend
Damn, this is such an awesome little upgrade
little and effective it seems, tempted to start a new playthrough so i can progress through with speed usin these types of farms
I wish you would describe more, like instead of saying doing this, for things that are positional either add directionality or a world reference litematica. Also using polished blocks makes it easier to follow for future videos. But amazing design and still so happy to have a tutorial just some advice for future videos. Love to see the complexity yet simplicity
hey thanks for the feedback, I probs shouldve used polished blocks I just used cobble to make it seem more early game of a farm
also I provide a schematic and world download for it to follow along in case u get stuck
as far as the explanations go, I shouldve described things a bit more maybe but I was trying to make this a less than 10 minute vid which required cutting out those parts
@@ncolyer Also just noticed you replied to essentially everyone, that's so amazing
Wow I'm so happy!!! I took ages trying to figure out all the things I did wrong with the tnt duper and item sorting, and finally figured it out thanks to the faq document. Thank you so much for the incredible farm, and hard work answering questions!! The farm works great!! 😊
our collective persistence has paid off it seems :)
It certainly is simplified from the crazy farms you're capable of, but 15 mins might be a stretch for anyone but you! I spent probably 6 hours and another 4 tweaking it last night; but I'm a n00b and was having a lot of fun :)
Note: If you do not intend to plant nether trees, you can use dirt as the bottom planting block, meaning you don't need to go and harvest nether soil.
This is the sort of thing I aspire to be able to make. Good Job ncoyler :)
thank you, and now there's a tutorial so u can make it
(although im pretty sure u mean design stuff like this on ur own which u can do too with enough trial and error :)

Very cool video and farm. Wanted to upgrade Ian's farm myself, but now I may just end up using your schematic. Thanks a lot.

This is something I can actually see myself making at some point, great vid chief!
we're actually going to just make this farm in the tree peri on wave, no need for anything else now so maybe u could build it then
Lovely design, works like a charm. The only thing i noticed is that on your material list you put 16 hoppers when you actually end up using 30 . Besides that , great work!

Guys make sure to watch closely if he places slabs or solid blocks 😅
the tnt blows up the iron bar (which the troubleshooting guide says isnt necessary so whatever), the 2 leftmost and rightmost fence gates from the user's point of view, and the block the saplings get planted on. any idea how to fix?
Figured it out, I built the area where the trees are planted and the tnt drops one block too low
I had to fun few trials because some parts were confusing or the tnt didnt worked, but after downloading the world and seeing what has been misplaced, I got it running smoothly. Thanks for the farm it works quite well. I've only tried birch wood but will test out other trees.
What mistake did you make because my duper doesn't work either?
same@@milanleysen2068
Man! I just built Activation's UTF and then this gets uploaded
well his farm is still astonighly fast for its size so you haven't made a mistake here imo
Great farm man, put pls fix the amount of hoppers in the material list, the farm needs a lot more than 16 :(
u should make a day 1 iron farm then and use the wood from the farm to craft more! also u do only need 16 just to get it up and running
Still, it's annoying to make almost the same number of hoppers after gathering the resources and while building the farm. Nonetheless, thank you this farm is really OP, now I have way more wood than I need, after just half an hour :D
Genuinely tho thanks for the farm I learned a lot about redstone trying to fix it 😅
Btw I ended up making it work
Great design!
Just finished building this, and it works great, despite a couple problems in 1.20.2
I’m still figuring out its quirks, but I finally gave up on keeping the chain in front of the iron bar in place.
But I am not sure how to accomplish that
works fine on realms, thank you!
Not sure what I'm doing wrong but the TNT is not drooping for me I've watched video a few times now and it looks the same but cant seem to get it to work
same, i think this tnt duper isnt working in 1.20
if this duper isnt working either; you built it wrong; you're on a server with tnt duping disabled; or you have some mod interfering with it. in either case check the world download to see you built it properly, server config to check tnt duping is enabled if on paper else you can try this alternative duper design: czcams.com/video/povFs7-MjLQ/video.html
Only thing I would like to point out , the bottommost hopper of the first item sorter gets locked by the clock circuit. In my case I had to replace block between that hopper and clock's farm sided dust with a glass block..(I may have done some error while building initially maybe)....otherwise the farm is excellent...
Im having the same problem but not sure what block you're saying to replace with glass?
this is fixed now in version 2 of this farm, thanks!
Your FAQ is SO helpful!! Thanks!! ♥
hey no problem, glad you found it and it actually helped!
Pretty sure i built the farm right, but everytime I run it the iron bar closest to the obsidian gets broken. Any idea what I couldve done wrong?
did u check the world download?
the iron bar breaking isn't the worst thing in the world as it's not vital to the farms' performance or longevity

I got the map, moved the clock above the player and just comfortably expanded the storage, keeping a similar area without being excessively tight.
sure thanks

Why is my dirt block breaking? Ive double checked everything and its built correct. If there is no tree planted then the block and the iron bar breaks. Could someone help me?
check to see that you've built the tnt duper at the right height, if you placed not enough scaffolding then the tnt can drop a bit higher or lower and break the iron bar plus scaffolding
try looking at the world download to see if uve got the height and timings correctly
works good other than the tnt doesn't seem to reach fully down before exploding, must have built the tnt machine up 1 block higher on accident, other than that it works great

Having an issue where the bottom log isnt being blown up, so I cant actually plant more than one sapling without first breaking the log
check you built the duper at the right height, usually this means you made it one block too high
made this today in 1.20.4, the tnt does not reach the base block of the tree, everything functions perfectly EXCEPT the block where im supposed to be placing saplings just doesnt get exploded, almost makes the entire farm worthless which sucks, unless i built something wrong which im fairly sure i didnt, the base block of the tree does not explode
hi yes I can confirm you made something wrong. double check your timings for the clock and the height u built the duper at
same thing happening to me did u find a fix?
place anther piston below the piston that he placed at 8:40
the issue will be fixed but u might start getting damage from the TNT for me i added an reg becone with iron armor and i didn't die
don't make the duiper 1 block below as he mentioned in other comments i tried that it made me a lot of other issues
maybe the farm arent working that good with the lastest updates
so you either made the duper at the wrong height, or the timings on the redstone clock were set incorrectly. maybe have a look at the world download in the latest version if you need help understanding that, or that the farm works in the latest version
