Rock has been a dying genre for some time now. These 3 sisters are saving Rock n Roll, thank goodness. They are incredibly talented and I am so excited to see them live on May 2nd. They are quite young. 22, 20 and 17 years old. They are touring Mexico, USA and Canada. They opened for The Foo Fighters last week in Mexico City in front of 50,000 people. Considering they formed a band as kid sisters around 2013, and achieved their first moment of Internet fame in 2014, they are veteran writers, polished performers, and advanced recording artists! They their family, and a dedicated fan base built this band on passion, love, dedication, discipline, and hard work. Add those up and you get musical genius.
The Warning started Playing Music at a Very Young age, When Dany was 6 and Pau was 4 they started taking Classical Piano Lessons and Ale started at age 5, Then when when Dany was 8 and Pau 6 their Father Bought them the Video Game "Rock Band" and they would play all the Time but Ale didn't play at first because she was only 3, then Dany asked her father if she could take Guitar lessons and Pau started taking Drum Lessons and when Ale was 6 or 7 she started taking Bass Guitar Lessons then as they got older they decided to play together as a band and started playing covers of their Favorite songs and posting them on CZcams and in 2014 when they were 14, 12, and 9 years old they posted a video to CZcams of them playing a cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman, and that video went Viral, to date it has over 23 million Views and Everytime changed for them, they started writing and Recording their own Music.

The Warning is a band of 3 sisters from Monterey, Mexico. Daniella (Dany) is 22, Paulina (Pau) is 20, and Alejandra (Ale´) will be 18 in Dec, 2022. You want to learn about The Warning straight from their own words- here you go: czcams.com/video/s7iQG0ug4HI/video.html
Their parents loved music and the kids saw many videos of rock concerts growing up. They started in music early when Dany and Pau were enrolled in music initiation class at ages 5 and 3 respectively. Ale´ was too young at that time but when she was old enough learned the same things. They took classical piano lessons and were quite good. When Dany was about 7 their dad bought them the video game Rock Band, and everything changed. They fell in love with rock music and performing (even though it was just a game). When Dany was 8 her dad asked her if she wanted to take up another instrument (along with piano). She chose the guitar. Later Pau chose the drums and Ale´ chose the bass. Ale had only been playing bass for about a month when they, as a group, started playing and recording songs.
They practiced hard and in 2014 when they were 14, 12, and 9 years old put out a CZcams video for their grandparents to see how they had progressed in their music. That video was a cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman, and it went viral. To date it has well over 23 million views and has gotten praise from such notable bands as Metallica and many others. The girls were completely caught off guard by this and had to make a decision. They quit school and began homeschooling so as to have more time to devote to their music. They practiced 2 hours a day separately and another 2 hours together every day- and they still do.
Their Enter Sandman video was also noticed by Ellen DeGeneres, and they made their US TV debut on The Ellen Show in 2015. The girls were trying to raise enough money to attend the 5-week classes at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Ellen found this out and she and Target presented each of the girls with a $10k check to attend those classes. Because Ale´ was only 10 years old she had to get a special exemption to attend but she got it.
Harmonix, the makers of the Rock Band video game, also noticed the girls and invited them to come to their facilities in Boston for a tour. While there they got to preview the soon-to-be-released Rock Band version IV and were completely caught off guard to see that their song Free Falling was in the game! They started the band because of the Rock Band video game so having their song in the game was amazing to them.
In 2015 they also released an EP called Escape the Mind. It was an exploratory group of eclectic songs designed to sort out their style.
In 2016 they were invited to participate in a Ted X talk at the University of Nevada where they told their story of how they got into music and started the band- they played 3 great songs (2 originals and a cover of The Foo Fighter’s Pretender). They were a hit and were invited back in 2017 where they talked about producing and launching their first complete LP called XXI Century Blood. They played 3 original songs from that album and wowed the crowd again.
In 2018 they released their 2nd album Queen of the Murder Scene. It was a concept album telling the story of a young woman’s journey thru unrequited love- from love, to infatuation, to obsession, to murder, to remorse. It is an amazing album, and every song is performed with great passion.
Their Mexican critics called them Cultural Traitors because they did not sing in Spanish and did not sing the traditional Spanish tunes. The Warning’s response was the song Narcissista. It debuted at the end of the 2019 Foro Didi concert in Mexico. The song says, “You say you pray for us, but we don’t see much praying”, and “you don’t know us”, and “you just talk to talk”, and basically tells those critics to Kiss Off! It was purposely written and sung in Spanish to make sure those critics understood every word, and the lyrics were put on the big screen behind them during the performance. You can understand why Pau sung it with so much passion!
The Warning was always an independent band and used such tools as Patreon and Kickstarter to fund their efforts. In 2020, after 7 months of negotiations to keep much of their independence, The Warning signed with Lava/Republic records for a 5-record deal. At the time they were 20, 18, and 15 years old.
Their first offering from the new record deal is the EP Mayday. It is a 6-song half album of amazing music.
Dany is a very accomplished guitar player and sings lead most of the time. Pau is a world-class drummer and sings backup and lead (lead about 20% of the time). Ale´ is an amazing bass player and sings backup and lead when necessary (a bit shy about singing lead). All 3 play keyboards as needed and can jump in to cover singing lead in any song when needed.

Metallica asked Alessia Cara to do a cover of Enter Sandman for their Blacklist album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. 53 artists were asked to take those iconic songs and do whatever they wanted with them. Alessia had no idea what to do but because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed the song and recorded it in one week, using David Bendeth to mix and edit that song (David did the amazing work on their Mayday EP). they created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. I watched your previous journey with Angelina Jordan, think 3 Angelina’s. Even the youngest girl, Ale the bass player, got sponsorship by a bass manufacturer when she was 13. Nearly everyone else they sponsor are middle aged male rockers. They are just as good live, check out Narcisista live at Didi Foro.
One standout fact is that they write their own music from their instrumentals to the vocals. Additionally, while Dany is normally the lead singer all 3 are capable of singing lead though not on every song since Dany can reach some notes that Pau and Ale can't. As noted below, all 3 began with classical piano so they can all play keyboards if called for. Dany has said that their music can vary greatly even within the same album. Besides a few music videos there are lots of recordings of live shows and even a few where they played acoustic versions of their songs.
Welcome to The Warning. I just discovered these amazing women a few months ago and quickly became a fan and patron. Every song they perform is incredible. The best thing is that they're truly incredible human beings and treat their fan base like family, and the fans reciprocate. Look forward to you doing more reactions of their music. The have great covers of the best rock groups and amazing songs of their own. They do have some songs in Spanish, I'd have to look to remember which.
Those would be Martirio and Narcisista (Which is a response to Mexican critics for accusing them to be "malinchistas" (cultural traitors) for only sing in English , basically it's a poke in the eyes with attitude and energy, then Martirio is more like a less agressive and more soulful song

Yes! That crazy young women behind the drums is Pauline the middle child in the family. And the main songwriter, spoke person,and I think that she is the real leader of the band. Glad you liked it so much.... your reactions were priceless (I mean that in a good way) - and not to mention - these girls have created an unbelievably great concept album, Queen of the Murder Scene. It's a story told through the songs of a woman who falls for a man and he doesn't know... she feels the pain and eventually stalks him, and when it doesn't go her way, she kills him as she descends into madness and ultimately ends her own life. It's a dark but beautiful rock album... all told in their second language. Worth a listen.
Dear friends, there are many great bands from all over the world that deserve attention. The Warning is an example of that, but there is another band, this time from Japan ... it's called Lovebites and don't be surprised by their looks. The girls in this team are fighting to restore the beauty of this world and the best of everything. Check it out for yourself, preferably live songs from Tokyo, each one is a masterpiece of classic metal (not something that is now played on radio and TV ..). I recommend the Epilog or The Edge of the World song (both ballads) at the beginning and then something powerful like Break the wall :) And one more thing, this band won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards 2018.

These 3 amazing sisters are all bilingual they can all speak perfect English but Spanish is their native tongue. They have two songs in Spanish if you would like to react to them. Narcisista is a response to the Mexican media who criticised them for only singing in English. It is a great song to say 🖕. We do what we wanna do. And Martirio is a classic rock song that I think you will love.
These 3 sisters are bad ass but at the same time the most humble and beautiful human beings ever. They take nothing for granted and love their fans like family.

Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band.
They had been uploading their musical journey to CZcams for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and started rehearsed for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show! The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma. USA.
They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album "XXI Century Blood" in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded "Queen of the Murder Scene" and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues.
In June of 2019 they released a single, "Narcisista". A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. The Warning is totally fan-funded through Patreon, CZcams and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever!
So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on CZcams and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star.
On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021.
In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. A 30th anniversary celebration for the Metallica ablum. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song...
On May 21 2021 they released the single "Choke" to critical acclaim czcams.com/video/TlOy0XbFVlM/video.html . Followed by a new release roughly every month through to Sept.
On October 8th, 2021, The Warning released six songs that were recorded for the new album on an EP titled Mayday with the remaining 6 song to be released at a later date.

Oh, also I didn't tell her how to pronounce their names only their nicknames that could have differed from there original pronunciation which does happen. It was so fun watching you discover this hard rocking power trio. As others have mentioned they started their journey into fame with a cover of Enter Sandman by Metallica when they where all much younger. I didn't see anyone mention the second cover they did 7(?) years later of the same song (along with Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara) for Metallica's 30th anniversary special Blacklist album. They re-arranged, rehearsed and recorded the music video all in one week's time and it was placed as the first song of the multi-album release of covers by artists from all genres of music. The Villarreal sisters are amazing songwriters and performers. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "Queen of the Murder Scene", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight for her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI Century Blood", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "Escape the Mind"; and it is amazing.
Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called Mayday. "Disciple" is my favorite track.
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history.
Amazing they are 22, 20 and 17 years old and have already written and arranged #44 original songs all by themselves! The oldest, Dany (Daniela) plays guitar, keyboards, lead vocals on 75% of their songs, backing harmonies. Pau (Paulina) plays drums, keyboards, lead vocals on 25% of their songs, backing harmonies. Ale` (Alejandra) plays bass, keyboards, backing harmonies.
The drummer Pau begins writing around 75% of their songs. In her songs, she starts with a concept, then works on chord progressions and basic song structure on piano while adding lyrics. She then brings it before her sisters and together they transpose each individual instrument's part; making changes along the way. They also complete the lyrics together; since Pau may only bring one verse and a chorus. All 3 must unanimously approve of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Nothing is set in stone until it makes it through the gauntlet. Pau has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both Dany and Ale` write equally great songs; just not as many.
I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.
