You will need a rod fishing licence from the Environment Agency to fish for freshwater fish in England. You can purchase one here: www.gov.uk/fishing-licences
Licences for children aged between 13 and 16 are free, but you’ll still need to get one.

Great informative video for anyone just starting fishing. I would however suggest that, when discarding excess or old line, once you have wound it around your fingers, before putting in your rubbish bag, you cut it in two places so that it is in small lengths. That way, it is totally safe, wherever it ends up, landfill etc. Thanks guys.

Once elasticated it becomes a pole not a whip, a whip has a flick tip which absorbs the lunges af a fish.
