    I got a infinity fan about 1.5 years ago, it has been on constantly, no issues at all does the job, it is quiet until it goes over level 5 and as of yet I have not needed to put it any higher than that, over all very happy with the fan and have and would recommend to any of my fellow green thumbed enthusiasts.

  • @andrewterry8092
    @andrewterry8092 Před 4 lety +4

    These fans are amazing, the best I've ever tried. I've got the T4 and S4 running now and just bought another T4 for a second tent. The variable speed control automatically adjusts and maintains the desired temperature in the tent, very quiet and efficient. For the summer, I have intake and exhaust lines running directly outside, it seems to work best if I have the T4 hooked to the intake and set to the desired temperature. I've tried running the intake and exhaust on the same controller set to the desired temperature, so both fans run at the same speed when they are triggered by the temperature setting, but it doesn't seem to work as well as just drawing in fresh air. I've also tried running the T4 on the exhaust line with passive air intake, but it doesn't work as well. On really hot days, I turn the exhaust fan around so both lines are intake from the outside, keeps plenty of constant fresh air coming in. I think it would work better if you run a T4 on the intake and T6 (or S6) on the same temperature controller, that way the larger fan size will create negative pressure even though the fans are running at the same speed on a single controller. That is the plan, anyway, after we get to flowering later this summer. Next winter, I plan to reverse the lines and instead of drawing fresh air directly from outside, I will draw fresh heated air from inside the room the tent is in, and exhaust the tent air directly to the outside as needed depending on temperature.

    • @allaboutmydogs430
      @allaboutmydogs430 Před 3 lety

      Did you end up finding a good method? I have a t4 and s4 coming in the mail this week for a 3x3. Trying to figure out which one to use as the intake and what speeds to have them set at. I also have an inkbird temp controller so I can hook them up separately if needed.

    • @andrewterry8092
      @andrewterry8092 Před 3 lety +2

      @@allaboutmydogs430 I ended up getting a T6 with carbon filter for my 4x4 tent exhaust, and I still have a T4 for exhaust on the 2x4 tent, plus two (2) T4's for intake on each tent. I used that all summer, running the lights at night and drawing fresh air in as needed to keep the temps down. The exhaust fans are more important than the intake fans, especially now that it is colder, I am exhausting the tent into the room. To control the room, I have two (2) T4 fans on one controller set up to exhaust the room out the window. I also have a dehumidifier in the room, this way I can recycle the heat from the tent into the room, instead of exhausting the air directly outside and losing the heat. There is a rinnai heater in the room to maintain temp while the lights are off. I disconnected the intake fans from the window for the winter, I don't want cold air coming in directly to avoid condensation issues, instead I will draw air in from the house by leaving the door to the room open as needed, depending on outside temp and lights on or off. The thing to remember is there is no single setup that will work well for the entire year if you live in a 4 season cold climate like I do here in Vermont. It requires constant monitoring and adjustment day to day according to the weather.

    Don't forget to add fresh air to your tent !!! Im new to growing and I couldn't find much information. But I recommend new growers dealing with heat and humidity to add a AC infinity Raxial fan as intake fresh air. And use your carbon filter and a S-series or T-series fan as the exhaust. And your tents temperature will forever be regulated. I added a dustshroom filter to my Raxial intake fan. Again I highly recommend to new growers dealing with heat and humidity.

    Wouldn't the fan pull out more air by being inside the tent and the carbon filter outside of tent?

    • @victorsupreme214
      @victorsupreme214 Před 3 lety +1

      Pushing air through is more efficient and produces a bit more pressure, allowing a slightly lower fan speed and therefore noise level. It does have disadvantages though, eg leaks before the exit out of the filter will not be filtered and you will need to install a pre-filter on the intake to protect the fan from dust, and one on the inside of the carbon filter to protect the carbon. Also if you have the fan set not just right, at too high a speed some air will be pushed back, the fan will fight against itself working harder and if using a tent may likely result in a positive pressure environment, meaning unfiltered air forced out of your tent/grow area through the intake, zips, stitching, anywhere not sealed air-tight, pretty much negating the carbon filter itself.
      Pulling through the filter is easier but might not be practicable for specific setups like those with space constraints. For a minor gain in efficiency or noise reduction, pushing through the filter comes with a lot of risks to monitor.
      If you set it up to push air through the filter and the sides of your tent aren't sucked inwards or flap between sucking in and pushing out then unfiltered air is escaping and the fan speed needs to be reduced. And if reducing the fan speed means it doesn't operate to your requirements say for temperature or humidity, then you have a problem, a choice between a detrimental or less than optimal environment or unfiltered air leaks. Or a bigger fan and filter.

    0:27 I've been specifically told not to connect an inline fan directly to a carbon filter like shown here, but to rather always have a duct between them even if they're right next to each other. Does anyone know the reason why it's bad to do what's shown in the video here?

      Just use a padded carbon filter clamp ! that's what I done no issues what so ever with noise/vibration, the fan is also incredibly light weight thin plastic so having it secured with a clamp makes for easy adjustments/hanging and no chance what so ever of damaging it.
