You know our secret, what’s yours?! How do you guys lay down perfect stripes every time?!
Brian, thank you for taking the time to share awesome videos and tips!
Appreciate the tips Brian! Keep up the good work 💪
Thanks man I appreciate it, I just started a new landscaping job and first time using a standing mower this stuff helps a lot. If you have any other tips or videos on other ways to do it as well it'd be awesome to know and see the differences as well. Y'all stay safe, again thanks bunches too for the tips and tricks. 🤙
Love the free tips. Up here in New England we have the same type of grass.
Another advantage of this is it gives the illusion that the yard is larger than it actually is.
Nice vid 👍🏻
That’s a cool tip I never considered that.
This is the video that has changed my lawn mowing. My dad always told me the same thing about the first tip but knowing the other two has also been very helpful thank you so much!!
That is awesome!
Thank you for this! It really helped my business 🙏
Thanks for the advice!
Awesome video! I think I'm going to send this to some of our foremen! I really started doing this after I saw a tiktok video on it early this year with great results! Other things I've found most important: sharp blades and mowing at a proper height (3" and up!) get great results!
Great job showing and telling, how to getter done right. Keep up the good work, and have a great day love them tips. Never did that strips, fixing to buy what your riding on. Tryed it out rode good, first time on a zero turn it was fun. Have a good one see ya next time see ya bye.
Both lawns look great, that first one especially great job
Those stripes are always poppin guy’s. Excellent job!!💯❤️👍🏾😀🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
After the Livestream I did some math. Our 5 year anniversary is coming up! Even though I don't have the BlackToof channel anymore, I'm not going anywhere. You and Spencer are my first guys to watch the journey!
Maybe some day we can see you Livestream some lawns? Real time would be cool to see for some new guys! Would be tricky if you don't have reliable internet to stream lawns plus privacy issues with house numbers and stuff.
Keep leading the lawncare scene! The journey and transformation is amazing looking back! -Toof
When I use my Commercial 30, its simple. Just run the wheels in the wheel marks of the previous pass and it'll be perfect tip-to-tip stripes. With the wider decks I try to use the full width of the deck but still getting the hang of the proper turn technique. Getting there. Not as bad as I used to be but definitely room for improvement. That just comes with more seat time on the Z.
Awesome job. 👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks for the tips
Been doing this since i was 7 and i enjoy it 🔥great video
Awesome stripes, class mower 👌
The Exmark's really stripe nice. Always happy with the stripes I get from my Lazer Z.
Thanks Brian!
Great video
Excellent video! In central Florida I cut a little higher and the striping shows up.
Awesome stripes! Down in the south, Bermuda stripes, but not as pretty or defined as that Kentucky or fescue grass. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾.
The shoot looks satisfying
Great tips !
Sharp blades and proper lawns do make the best stripes 👌
Very nice 👌
I do wish we could trip in Florida. All we can do is mow nice straight lines and window frame in. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to shoot this very informative video. God bless.
I use a turf tracer with a proslide plate attachment so its a tad bit different than a stander or sit down! Great video Brian!
Those are dope!
Perfect tips! Thank you so much!
Hey Brian,
Been following for awhile please forgive the delay in subscribing as I'm a huge fan of your content. I'm in South Georgia and you should see the reaction of those when I explain the "tip-tip" theory in striping (you were the first I learned that from).
Not a professional, I'm a residential enthusiast with a front-mount grasshopper unit. I'm commenting in regard to your PTO engagement and disengagement of your exmark units. Between my neighbor who is a professional landscaper by trade and my personal research, I didn't know what exmark's recommendation was. I've always been told half-3/4 engage, drop-idle disengage to save PTO clutch. You seem to do full throttle engage and disengage.
Thoughts?
I have a 36 turf tracer one thing I notice is I can get the lines but always have a small mohawk. When I lower the back one notch than the front I can get a better cut no mohawk. Question is this bad for the mower? I get different answers, it has a floating deck.
Dude. That Michigan grass is ridiculous. Wow. I thought our grass was pretty in Va
Michigan!!! What do you guys do in the winter?
Where you start is also important when you have trees to round you want it so you dont have a visable ring its just straight lines for the perfect finish. It can change with angle your cutting that week. Tip to tip is the hardest to master epically if you have uneaven terrain.
Can you make a video of how to make straight lines with a zero turn sit down mower.
Nobody wants to talk about the perfect one-handed turn at 1:55 while he's controlling the chute block at the same time?
🙏💯
Great advice as well as Great stripes on both lawns. What height were you mowing at? Do you adjust the height of the mower according to the length of each lawn? Or all lawns set at the same height?
Keep up the great content.
3-3.5” just depends on the lawn
Great video, thanks for the tips. I'm new to the channel and watched quite a few of your videos recently. I was wondering what do you guys do with the grass once you've mowed a lawn? I've never seen you guys rake or remove the cut grass. Do you ever rake it or simply blow it with a blower and then collect it, or do you simply leave on the lawn to serve as a kind of fertilizer?
I'm really interested to hear how you deal with that cut grass.
Thanks for the awesome videos, keep up the good work.
The clippings biodegrade in a week, no bagging here :)
You taught this ole dog a new trick! I’m excited to mow today!
Nice looking stripes I always say deck wheel to deck wheel can you do a drone shot on your Y turns would help out
I can try!
I can’t get my TTTF to stripe for anything. I’ve tried different heights, different cut patterns. Put a roller on my Z930M, cuts great but no stripes.
🔥
It looks like a backwards stripe down the middle of all the passes. When going towards the back inside of the left tire looks like a dark stripe
First like first view in 23 hrs?
🔥🔥
Good info. Are you using a striping kit on your mowers?
Nope 🤯
@@BriansLawnMaintenance what length did you cut the lawns in this video? Also in Michigan, just wondering if you're cutting shorter or longer than I do
A useful tip. Most mowers guide wheel is approximately 2" in on the deck. Obviously, you follow the edge of the long grass with that 2" space. It's more about getting to know your mower. If you use the same equipment daily, to the point you start calling her "my baby" you know what you gotta do to make that clean line.
Secondly... grass length matters. Weeds, and length play a factor. If it's tall, and weedy and you don't have the time for a 2x mow, you'll simply mow a bit deeper into the next line. Perhaps put the guide wheel right on the edge of the long grass.
Any advice for walk behind mowers? I just upgraded from a normal riding mower and am still figuring it out with this new mower.
Just be careful lol. They’re tricky to learn and frankly most dangerous out of any type of machine out there!
@@BriansLawnMaintenance note taken thank you!
Do you use the x blades with the razor and high lift balade combo? Been thinking really hard about changing over but not sure. What the best combo to use would be?
Not usually until fall!
So if you don't mind me asking? what blade combos do you use and when? I'm not quite sure what to use?
Again, at what height are you cutting the grass at to get those beautiful stripes. I am in Pennsylvania and get some stripes, but not that defined at a 3 in cut.
3-3.5 is ideal
Hey Brian do you guys use strip kits and if so which company do you use
We do not no sir!
Question, I forgot: Does that mower have a striping kit on it and do you find that makes much of a difference?
No striping kit!
Hey Brian where do you get your shirts?
Chants daily hustle! Mention us they’ll hook you up!
Do you all really take your decks off every mower and clean them everytime? Also are you all using a strip kit? And yes I did subscribe.
Will this work with a push mower?
Yep!
what are benefits to standing over sitting mower?
We've done a few videos on this exact topic!
What number do you recommend cutting at?
3.5” usually for us
Any tips on starting my own lawn care business
ya dont do it in his area 😂
@@justinriley8651 lol
We have a great read on Amazon called Zero to $100K! amzn.to/3IyRaog
Do you have to use different height adjustments of your mower blades to make the stripes or can you use the same height?
Same question here, I don’t understand how they do this.
Maybe it’s like a rug and depending the path you take it becomes dark or lighter.
Stripes look great. Any tips on keeping clumps down especially with the morning cuts?
I don’t.. it stinks! Clumps are tough.
Thankfully, my mower really doesn't clump at all even when it's wet. I've seen a lot of posts about this and never really thought about it... Probably because it's not an issue for me. Gravely x factor 2 deck.
@@BriansLawnMaintenance Yeah, I go over the extra bad ones.
@@joeybydin439 Wow. I wish I could afford one.
@@1thinkhealthy I'm only running a gravely hd 52. It's a $6700 high end residential mower.
Where do you get your shirts from with your logo on them?
Chant's Daily Hustle store!
@@BriansLawnMaintenance awesome! Thank you!
Don't forget to make your final pass perpendicular in the middle of the lawn for that final stripe! 😆😜😆 Oof, I hate it when I see that lol
Lol
What is your cut height?
3-3.25"
Is you using a striping kit?
No sir
I just started for a landscape company and I really feel like I’m not gonna get this part. Never rode a mower
It’s very simple you’ll get it
Turns suck on walk behinds
I was woundering how come u don’t bag the grass?
We just don’t here
@@BriansLawnMaintenance I gotcha
Is it a special blade that does the stripes?
Just a high lift for us!
You don't continue your stripes all the way to the sidewalk ?
We mow with the boulevard, not continuing the stripes from the front yard.
Why don’t you use bags
We don't bag here, that's just not a thing.
What country is he in? I’m in America and can’t find an English speaking lawn guy.
No comprende
Then you need to learn another language. Stop making it everyone else’s fault and hit the books, hombre.
Why don't you bag?
We don't bag in our region.
U gotta start turning around a little softer
