    Thank you, thank you Sidney. I just found the world of Isomalt through Debbie at Icing Images's live facebook streams and demonstrations by Kim Simons. I have been studying these tecniques and your products for several days and I'll be trying to create a small waterfall for a cake next week. Cant thank you enough for these free tutorials.

      @@sidneygalpern thank you Sidney. I actually just posted the cake on fb and hashtagged simicakes. I made a small isomalt waterfall and shark in pond (Kim Simonds tutorial koi pond). New chef torch wouldn't work and didn't realize glaze was a must, BUT, the customer LOVED the cake. Cloudy isomalt (but he didnt know). My first, out the door. I'm a cookier that is branching out because of Debbie's guest FB Livestreams. Thank you. I'm driven and hungry for ramping up my skills. 😁

    I just used gel color mixed in with isomalt yesterday and it smoked a little but I let it sit and it hardened up just fine! I only used a tiny bit though. I'm glad you posted this video!

    Hi Sidney, thank you so very much - you just solved my concern and problem. I am making a barbie doll cake and first time I will ever use isomalt so I can give the dress a great 'bling'. Feeling so confident after watching your video which is I found a very clear and friendly tutorial. Needless to say, I have subscribed and I will follow you on instagram as well. My very best wishes, Cynthia

      Hi Sheri! I'm glad you've had good luck with gel colors! I find sometimes they could color the isomalt alright for small, flat decorations, but for larger gravity defying or displays that have to support any sort of weight, the integrity and structure of the isomalt will definitely be compromised by the gel. Pieces will sink or lose their shape much faster and therefore have a shorter lifespan, that's why as a general rule of thumb I do not use them mixed into my isomalt, only painted on top. Thanks for watching!

    Awesome tutorial. Love your work. Unfortunately we don't get your isomalt in India. We still have to cook it. Small suggestion. You have lovely nails. Please paint them

      Her nails are fine. Some people who work with food don't like paint on their nails as a safety precaution. Keep in mind that not everyone likes paint on their nails. Some women are confident enough to rock their naturally beautiful nails. It's kind of rude to tell her she should paint them. Please understand not everyone thinks like you. What makes the world such an interesting place is the fact that we all are different and should be comfortable being so.

    Gel color doesn’t have gelatin in it, atleast Americolor, chefmaster, Wilton, and all the other major brands

    • @sidneygalpern
      @sidneygalpern  Před 2 lety

      Many have glycerin in it instead, which will have the same effect on isomalt where it won't allow it to dry or set up properly. Thanks for watching!
