I have an '07 MKZ. 182K miles. Front wheel drive. I'm not happy with the way it's running. It just sounds loud and I'm wondering if I maybe have a CV axle problem. But the car is running and it's my everyday drive. Will watch for new videos. I don't have the tools that I would need to pull off what you have done in this video ... but the information is very valuable when I deal with a mechanic, even one I trust. It's just good to stay informed. Thanks so much. I can't believe you got that gasket on with one arm and one hand. Get a friend to be your cameraman and free yourself up.

@@JayCeeMax You were not kidding about those wire connectors to the coils being sensitive. I was able to get it done fairly quickly and without issue except that I myself had accidently purchased a lower intake manifold gasket set instead of the upper when I got my sparkplugs. I got a Fel-Pro set with the upper plenum gaskets and the throttle body gasket and everything went smoothly. in the end I opted to remove and clean my throttle body as well since I had it off. I didn't end up using your bungee technique, but I was ready for it, ha ha ha. 95kmi and shes purring again, no hesitation, happy Lincoln!

@@marlieb7570 It's possible to change it without removing the bumper cover but it's best to just remove it for less hassle. It's only a few screws and plastic connectors.

Amazing sir !! Well done I have a 2009 Lincoln MKZ 3.5 L My car has the same problem hesitation and I’m burning through a lot of fuel. I’m gonna give this a try. I have to get a Torque wrench and I’m good to go. I’m going to change those gaskets to I think I have the original ones on it I have 160,000 on it. Thank you so much

Jay Cee Max ...Ha ! No, I won’t be tuning up my 2005 Tahoe ! I can dump in a can of oil, add coolant, water, and windshield wiper fluid. I can check fluid levels, and have changed a tire in my younger years. My strategy is to get frequent oil changes, lubes , brakes checked etc ! I am older than dirt, and just had a bday this week .

so my 07 mkz started smoking a little. took it to the dealership and if im not misunderstood they said pretty much a tune up is what it would need to fix the problems and are wanting to charge me $1,500 to repair. I think I might try and do this myself, and see if it works first.

Yes it did. 100% smooth. As long as the water pump/timing chain doesn't give out, these engines can last forever.

Which one is cylinder #2
Great question. It's the middle cylinder closest to the firewall (the windshield). You have to remove the upper intake manifold to get to it. (This was shown within this video.)
To count the cylinders on this 3.5l V6 Duratec engine, stand directly in front of the car. Starting at the valve cover closest to the windshield (aka RH valve cover), from Left to Right count 1, 2, 3.
Then.
The valve cover closest to the front bumper, (aka LH valve cover), from Left to Right count 4, 5, 6.

@@JayCeeMax seems like I’m back to square one. Before I saw your response I thought the second one closer to the front bumper was the # two cylinder. When I screwed off the coil the rubber section at the end of it was stuck in the hole so I was convinced that was the problem. But from what you explained, I checked the wrong cylinder 🤦🏽♂️. You said that’s #5 right?

I put new spark plugs and the comp still said bank 6 is misfiring. So I put a new coil. Same issue. Do I just need a new car, lol?
Are u sure that what you think is spark plug and coil #6 is the #6 position and not the #3 position. Check again. First, clear the codes then switch the spark plugs and coils for #3 with #6 then start the car again and run the scanner and see what it says. If the error position changes you will know which position of items truly had an issue.
