Hey I’m not coming from judgment at all and just curious because I haven’t asked a non religious person but even as a non religious person do you think there isn’t a higher power at all? Or do you think there is a higher power but not on a religious standpoint? Once again I’m just curious and would love to hear your opinion
@@DevanAshborneI'm not the person you asked, but I'll answer anyway lol. I don't believe there is a higher power personally, at least not in the traditional manner of a being overseeing life and being responsible for creating it. I believe in certain vague concepts such as mother nature- not in the sense that mother nature controls or actively influences us, but that it connects us with nature and other living things. This doesn't mean that everything is equal, it just means I respect that everything out there is trying to survive. From viruses, to parasites, to fish, birds, etc. We all share a common goal of wanting to continue to survive.
Anyways. If there is a higher power out there in the traditional sense, I cannot believe that they are a "Good" being. I think they'd have to be a neutral being. I've never been able to prescribe to the belief that bad things happen to good people for a reason. I can't live with that. To me it's much more comforting to think that bad things simply happen sometimes, and that's alright, We just have to figure out how to keep going.

@@DevanAshborneI’m not religious, but I have a personal idea or belief that the universe itself is an entity in some manner, and we all exist and are conscious as an extension of that. We are what brings life to the universe, existence itself. I like to hear these stories and descriptions, but the bible is a book written by people about things I’ve never seen and experienced, about things that they may have experienced and not understood. The only thing I know is I exist, and I guess in a sense that is my religion, that all there is is existence and we are manifestation of it. If something exists and nothing perceives it…. Then does it really exist?
@@DevanAshborne I also have no belief in any higher power. I think we're simply a product of the natural order of things, a lovely coincidence. I don't do good things out of fear of hell or a need to reach an afterlife - I just do good because it's the right thing to do. In my eyes, that is the purest form of kindness, far more than any religious doctrine, because those force incentive.
I was born Christian and had a falling out of religion and regained my faith a couple years ago and to learn more about my faith and see someone who is as excited as you to talk about it is really awesome. These videos are in a weird way strengthening my faith and a good start to learn a bit about it. Thanks man.

He is “a servant of the secret fire” which is middle earths version of the power of creation which resides in the one god. Gandalf is a “common angle”. And in LOTR Gandalf never interferes with the fellowship, he only guides. The only time he directly interferes is when they face something not of the mortal realm. The balrog, the ring wraiths, etc. Even at the battle of minus tirith, he still led the men of Gondor and guided them to their best outcome. “You are soldiers of Gondor! The Nazgûl in the lore are just kings who have been corrupted by the lesser rings forged by Sauron, but I guess I can see how they could be interpreted as otherworldly
Gandalf’s abilities beyond long life and wisdom are granted to him by the elven ring Narya, which grants courage, faith and resilience to magic and tyranny. When Gandalf faces down Durin’s Bane in Khazad Dum, the fellowship screams and flees in terror until Gandalf says that he wields the flame of Anor. Then the fellowship, under the influence of Narya, jump forward to aid Gandalf.

As a die hard atheist, I really love this too. I'm writing a story where all deities humanity ever thought of exist at the same time and are given power by their believers/followers, having a neutral but accurate to the religion description of things like angels is perfect

your research conveys the idea really well. Even as a non Christian this was fascinating and it painted the Christian views in a way that shows the beauty of it.
Like real things, there is a beuty and there is a harsh reality to everything, this things are true not because it brings comfort but because the supernatural shows, Jesus showed us and it's documented (research deep enough both sides) at this point, it's as christian lore says "a spiritual warfare" with ignorance and pride being the most used tool

I saw a angel back in January 2021. I was going through a deep depression. Then one night, I was awoken to a beautiful woman's voice calling my name. I looked over and saw a beautiful sparkling light, hovering above me, and she said my name again, and said "I'm here". I was filled with love and peace at that moment. And quickly came out of my depression. I know it was a angel I saw that night, and she came to let me know God is with me. After that experience, I came closer to God. I'll never forget it, and I know what I saw.

Wendi does not have to be so apologetic and timid when talking about Christianity. I was a very cynical atheist for about 5 years, until I slowly opened my heart to the Christ (its funny cause i had not heard of the majority of the most convincing logical arguments for the existence of God, or of the historical evidence of Jesus' miracles and ressurection until AFTER I renewed my faith). But anyway, I think it is beautifull to speak about the faith as long as we are not getting too pushy and to always remember to do it out of love. I think being a Christian has become a bit frowned upon by many people today (which is actually accurate with Biblical prophecies), but as long as we remain polite, steadfast, honest, loving, and strong as believers, the good news will spread to more people. I met a Muslim Albanian in the UK during my studies there, and two years after meeting me he converted to Orthodox Christianity and will soon get baptized. I did not even try to convince him to convert, I did not even suggest it, but by seeing how Christ was affecting my life, and doing his own research, he opened his heart to Him.
It's beautiful stories like these that always bolster my faith. God is great, and I'm glad you are with us 🙏 ❤️

Really that's not spoken about Christian mythology is how the morning star or Lucifer as you call it is actually the manipulated. He is the embodiment of pride and when you have a very prideful person it's not too hard to manipulate them and the angel that manipulated Lucifer to rebellion is still residing in heaven.

Sometimes all it takes is a good teacher/speaker to skyrocket my interest in a subject.
I'm a firm believer that the bible is almost all allegory to something else other than the fantastical elements which could be explained as translation errors over the years of translating from one language to another. (It also could be seen as maybe Aliens as well, since the description of the ophanim being rings within rings that are on FIRE with eyes around the rings and an individual in the centre sounds A LOT like the traditional idea of what a flying saucer with a passenger looks like.) And seriously, if you think about it - wouldnt an alien say some shit like "be not afraid" to some primitive societies that probably WOULD perceive them as gods or angels after doing some in-vitro fertilization and having a virgin birth would certainly reinforce that idea. Just my 2 cents!

As a Catholic Christian, I'm glad a channel like this exists where it talks about such Biblical concepts without throwing personal religious beliefs into it, now this is content that every one could enjoy.
As a former catholic all the parishners are biblicly ignorant . I say that not to be mean ,but to speak truth. The catholic church says only priest can interpet the bible . As a former catholic i found that to be untrue . Please read your bible and see for yourself what God the Father says.
The bible is for ALL to read , not just a few religious leaders . The Holy Spirit will give you the gift of understanding scripture if you really want to know what God says.

I know my life’s been changed pretty well by going through his entire backlog while working on something with my hands, or out in the early morning and at dusk, taking in the beauty of the world. This strange, friendly fellow just has something about the way he talks and explains things. I hope he helps you too, mate, he’s like an older cousin or uncle that lets you drive the car around the farm and teaches you how to whistle with blades of grass- and, in my own opinion, one of the best examples of a gentle and Godly man I’ve seen.

@@toastle8005 That's very well said, I've found people like this whom I looked up to in the past. They always show this human side, and even if they don't do something evil, they do things that I find ignorant or unjustifiable. Typically it's a culmination of these things, Joe Rogan years ago, Dave Chapelle years ago, and many others in real life. I have high hopes for him and hope he doesn't give in to temptation or hate. I hope he keeps being better than me and setting a good example and puts out good content.
God's been there for me a lot with a lot of miracles to save me, normally at the brink of death. Most of these are a year or two ago, but besides that they've mostly stopped. I struggle because of unexplainable trials and tribulations of hate or discontent towards me from everyone I've interacted with eventually. So I've been feeling alone in many ways. I feel disgusted by people often, and these feelings fester at times. Deep down I know he's there and I won't give up on what I care about and my morality, however it's hard to hope for longevity or any success in this life with those feelings.

Not Jesus per se. Jacob alludes to having faced God Himself, as he names the place where they wrestled "The Face of God." Moreover, whether it was an angel or a deity who faced Jacob, they did so in the form of a man. Although the logistics of trying to wrestle a four-winged, four-wheeled, fiery angel would be at the very least, interesting.

Israel literally means wrestles with God. Additionally A mere angel does not have the authority to rename a human being, if we go off the New Testament, Jesus declares to us that we have authority even over the angels, because were made in the image of God. God gives us dominion over this earth and in the garden of Eden he gave Adam the power to name everything that was created. Therefore, logically the only person who can overrule the name that was bestowed by man is God.

The descriptions in the Bible are the perceptions of various prophets, but they're perceiving something beyond human comprehension. So the descriptions we have are a representation of something outside our reality. They're not necessarily literal fact.

My dad told me one time about when he was a kid, he went on vacation to a skiing lodge with his parents and brother. While on the ski lift...thing, his scarf got caught in the pulley system or whatever pulls the lil swing things along, and was slowly starting to strangle him as it pulled tighter and tighter around his throat. Suddenly, two girls in white puffy winter coats walked up to the emergency stop button and pressed it, allowing my dad to be saved. Afterward, my dad and his parents wanted to find the girls to thank them for saving his life, but they were told that no one else had seen the girls, and there were no girls at the lodge matching that description. Furthermore, there were no footprints seen in the snow leading up to or away from the emergency stop button. My dad holds the firm belief to this day that those two girls were guardian angels who saved his life that day.

The angels are like God’s holy and benevolent monsters. The cherubim are even meant to look like terrifying hybrid animals. It’s very allegorically poetic and beautiful.
