2020 and purchased same model and color for $99. Figured if I cleaned all carpets once, it pays for itself. Been spending lot more time inside this year (covid yeah) house and carpets have never been cleaner! Used machine 3X and does a great job...the weight, smaller tank, problems with breakdowns etc stated from other consumers, I feel as with most things get what you pay for and for anyone with high expectations might be better off with $500 unit

Your viewers might want to know that sooner or later the brush drive
will stop working due to rusted bearings in the turbine drive. The good
news is the parts are available and the unit comes apart with just a
screwdriver. There have been many reports of this problem and Hoover has
done nothing to correct it in the manufacturing process.
    i.e.-substitute ceramic bearings. I used mine 5 or 6 times before it's
brushes stopped working. My ex has the same problem with hers, bought 3
months prior to mine. Not a big deal if you fix it yourself but a
repairman would likely charge as much as the product costs, only to have
it happen again down the line. Aside from that, I love it!

It does but how many times does one use a steam cleaner in two years? Would you buy a vacuum cleaner that stopped working after 6 or 8 uses? I realized I had a problem 2 days after the warranty expired.

Just purchased one of these to do quite a bit of carpet. At it’s price I didn’t expect much....some reviews said not to after all?
The machine did it’s job nicely and reading “way too many” reviews did help grasp what the average experience so as not to be let down to the point of appreciating this for what it is....decent.
It set up quickly, cleaned well, operated easily, cleaned up fast and was packed back in the box fast.
Reading those reviews helped to learn where manufacturing/quality issues could show up.(None with mine.) It also made me aware of what things weaken and affect performance of this affordably constructed shampooer.
    Stored wet
UV exposure when stored long term...plastic gets brittle.
Not giving a quick vacuuming (to at least get up heavy debris).
Making sure the different components are checked for a good seal while using.
Not noticing anomalies of performance due to not monitoring having things secured in the suction path.
Even though these are made of almost completely plastic, have motors and components that are af disposable grade...they can still be minimally serviced and maintained to provide value. (Have only used this once, but suspect if you take care to clean, let it dry well after using, and store away from moisture, getting slammed, and being stored around moisture....fine.)
May not be of professional grade, and far from it’s quality? But I’m guessing it’s money well spent and worthy of the small investment...providing your not putting it through more than it’s built for.

I bought this carpet cleaner after searching for months for a cleaner with the two tanks. I have two very big dogs and cheap rental tan carpet and it gets it so clean. I have used Bissell in the past and this Hoover is way easier and better quality. I might still have to have a pro come in once a year but for typical spills and dogs/kid stains its perfect! I love that all the brushes snap out and its easy to do. I actually just spent 30 minutes cleaning all the little parts and it all snapped back in place very well. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a built in water heater like the bissells do but since its only 1 gallon its just as easy to put hot water in the tank. I bought this on sale for $180 at Kmart.

Just saying, I work for Macy's so I paid $40 for this thing when push comes to shove. Anyway I am happy with it, Does what it's supposed to. Only drawback is you can't adjust the amount of solution being used. That being said I'd get normal hoover carpet solution for "any" machine and even dilute that with water to a desired amount. 2X full solution, suds everywhere, soap = sticky fibers and attracts dirt. That being said I threw 10 gallons of water at a 7x12 foot carpet, to get the soap out, was dry (even underneath) in 3 hrs. Kinda amazing actually...

I recently purchased the Hoover Power scrub deluxe carpet cleaner after reading the reviews & yes I came across a few negative ones as is often the case (allowing for the occassional faulty machines and some not being used correctly) but the majority by far seemed very impressed with it's performance. I am a bit of a "clean freek" and am very particular so I knew I would need to use it myself before being convinced After using it I give it a big thumbs up! It lived up to all the claims on the video above, though I believe the demonstration is staged, they probably treat the carpet with something to make for thosebig clean stripes! just for dramatic effect, and the drinks they pour across the carpet might not be the real thing or at least have been watered. Saying that, my own results were better than I expected, the carpet looked great and smelled fresh, suction was excellent resulting in only a damp carpet that dried quite fast, best of all was the dirty water that came off the carpet into the tank, I was astounded that so much dirt & grit was in my carpet as I do have them cleaned regularly and they didn't look too bad at all with just a few areas that needed a light clean. Also when I had them all professionally cleaned about 6 weeks ago they took a lot longer to dry and cost me almost as much as the price of this machine. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and found it very easy to use and would highly recommend it : )))) Im giving it 5 out of 5

I've had mine for 5 years and its still going strong. Its so easy to use, easy to clean and figure out and its light weight. I actually like that I don't need exact measurements with my shampoo. You just add the solution, turn to wash, and it auto uses the right amount. All attachments are easy to attach and use too.
Clean my carpets about every 18 months and its still fun to watch what comes up.
Do wet forward, wet back, dry forward, dry back over same spot. Repeat over whole roo.. Then do this same process with rinse. Done. I do go over dry a few more times to suck up as much excess water as possible.

Bought this about 4 years ago from Sears. Paid about the same price as Amazon price.
I love mine especially because I have dogs who can cause a mess.
But is there a way to clean the INSIDE of the upper part of the water/dirt tank?
Mine has a brown film that rinsing just won't clean.
I'm real OCD (haha) and I can't stand not being able to get the INSIDE clean.
Too bad Hoover didn't design that part to snap on & off.

@OneDayAfterAnother PLEASE HELP LOL I'm pregnant getting ready for our baby and bought this for my birthday, we decided to get a professional clean the first time since I'm so sore and boyfriend works too much... After the professionals came we realized they moved the one piece of furniture out of the way that we forgot to move to the tile and they never moved it back and didn't clean under where they moved it to so we're left with a big table sized patch of dirty carpet compared to the clean carpet and won't reply to us after spending $500 on a full carpet clean. So now we're stuck trying to make that patch just as clean as the rest with this cleaner but I don't want to waste solution with a full tank of water when we only need it for the patch at the moment.
How do you put the solution in for a situation like this?? And also when it's time to rinse do we have to dump out the water and put water in with no solution? And then do how do you actually use it, like does the water come out automatically when you go forward and backwards or do you pull on the trigger for that and then release the trigger to suck up the dirty water? Trying to do this today so I'd love a reply💕💕😩

+dawggonecrazee Hoover USA and Hoover UK are two completely different companies. Both companies use to be tied together as a part of the Maytag Corporation years ago, but Maytag sold Hoover UK to the Candy Group in 1995 and Hoover USA was sold to TTI in 2007. If this machine was or is available in the UK, it would probably be sold as a Vax carpet washer, as both Vax and Hoover USA are owned by TTI.

    • @maryfenton3509
      @maryfenton3509 Před 5 lety +2

I take care of mine and it still rusted and seized up. The only idiot is Hoover for not using better parts. This cleaner has a reputation for the brushes locking up. Thanks to a couple videos on You Tube, learning to fix it was easy. Simple taking out the brushes each time DOES NOT keep water away from the gears which causes the rust to build up. Hoover did us all a disservice for not using higher quality parts.
