This would be useful for parents with young kids and strollers parking in a narrow spot. Sometimes my wife and have to stop beside the spot, get everyone out and then have one of us park the car.

I know my EV6 GT Line has A LOT more "optional" features, and I've read the manual, but it doesn't really explain or show what the vehicle does. So thank you for this video and taking risks so I know what they vehicle does and will/can do!
**Before anyone "grills" me**: My EV6 was in an accident within the same month getting it, so I didn't really have time time with it, and just got it back recently. (Please go easy on me 🙏) lol

Hi Mark, yes you hold it the entire time. It’s to make sure that you’re attentive to what the vehicle is doing.

It does! But I think it just goes back & forth, not actually “parking” itself - I think.

It seems many cars with RSPA1 only go forward and backward with the driver out of the car and don't steer to park. Is that true?

It’s interesting technology - but we agree, it’s typically more efficient to park the vehicle yourself.
Does the Sportage have retractable side mirrors ? I thought I saw a video online showing it does, but don't know what trim levels do......
For the HEV it does on the SX trim!

That is SO WEIRD!!! I did try the going in/out of a tight paring spot but didn’t know it actually parked “itself”. I just bought the Sportage Hybrid SX-Prestige.
Having it unpark out of a tight parking spot would be a useful feature too.
when you do remote parking, if you stand in front of the car, will it hit you if you block the way it wants to move forward into?
It won’t hit you, it will try to maneuver in a different way

At 5:20, the car stopped with its nose over the line. Is that because it did it wrong, or did you let go of a button, or something?

This feature should slowly start appearing on more and more Kia/Hyundai vehicles!

Wish they include this with the remote park assist on the sportage instead of just forward and backwards

What's the wait time for the EV6 AWD now?
In Canada, we are quoting 18 months-2 years. Just because the order bank is currently closed Canada-wide. No one is able to actually place an order with the factory.

Hi Shaik, Im not too sure what market you're in. We are based in Canada & we do not have a Sportage GT-Line here. It might be best to check with your local dealer.

Yes to 2023 Niro EV Limited. The specs are subject to change, but at this point No on HEV and PHEV.
@@BrantfordKia i have order the HEV and it comes with the smart park assist, but i am not sure if will be capable to do parellel parking thing
Question.....you said you hold the back up button. Is this what you hold the whole time, or do you have to hold back up until it stops and then hold forward,etc?
You can hold either backwards or towards. you just have to keep holding it the entire time. No switching
I really don't understand why there's such a big difference between being inside or outside the car.
You just engage park assist from different locations.
By the time it's done parking, I coulda been inside my destination.

Yeah - I use it to back out of my garage, but that's about it. It always freaks out my neighbour!
I have a 2023 Kia Niro EV and i love car but I don’t trust any of the self driving features one bit actually don’t know if my car comes with it and don’t care because I won’t use any of it because im not that lazy🤷🏼♂️
Cause I want a vehicle that controls itslef (or can be controlled by someone else)....
I think it is supposed to look "very cool" if you kind of go away while it parks itself .. but oh the anxiety if you work hard for your money.
Nice job on the video, ladies, but what a silly feature from Kia. Can you imagine how pissed off someone behind you in a busy parking lot would be by the time the process was complete? Why can Kia come up with all of these novelty features, yet not figure out a way to include wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto? BTW, it's always a pleasure to see you, Gabby. 🙂
We agree - it’s interesting technology, but it’s not always practical. I find parking the vehicle while still inside is more usable than doing it from outside.
