Taron clearly has such love for Elton, and Elton so naturally takes on a role model role. I mean, the dude is Eminem's sponsor, he just has a way about him that wants to help younger performers get through the hard stuff with more support than he had.

Rocketman isn't just a better movie than Bohemian Rhapsody, but Taron would have deserved an Oscar more than Rami. Not to say Rami didn't deserve that Oscar, but Taron wasn't even Nominated, even though he actually sung ALL songs heard in the movie. One of the biggest snubs imo.
