Crossclimate 2 is without a doubt the best if you live in cold weather places
We had some 20" alloys we bought for $250 for 4 at a closing down auction. We picked up some cheap Delamax tyres for $150 each that were load / speed rated for Tesla but not "EV tyres". So far energy consumption is up 5% with at least $1600 saved. I'm Ok with that. There are not many choices at present for "EV tyres" and all are overpriced . Hankook ION EVO $419 AUD each, Michelin EV tyres $550 AUD each. That will change over time. I hear Sailun have brought out a cheaper range of EV tyres but they are not available in Australia yet.
Quatrac pro ev??
Surprised Hankook isn't mentioned here. Their Ion Evo All-Season SUV are the bee's knees. Engineering Explained did a great video series discussing the extensive research and development Hankook has done specifically for EV tires. Tesla now provides the non-SUV version stock from the factory on the Model 3 Highland and the rumor is the Model Y will be getting them as well sometime next year. If you're in the market for tires, these are worth a look!
seems like paid advertizing without any word of the fact what the video was all about.
As far as I can tell, Hankook doesn't have tire that fits Model Y.
@@malin7919 None that fit the stock rims on the Model Y Performance, but they will accommodate the RWD and LR versions. As an owner of an MYP, I'm looking to drop down to an 18-19" rim because it improves the experience in every measurable way. Significantly quieter ride, reduced 0-60 times, square setup doubles the tread life, 10-15% increase to efficiency, and a lower risk of potholes damaging your rims due to the extra sidewall.
Bearded Tesla Guy did a great video on the perks of transitioning to 18-19" rims.
@@bazookatierI did the switch from 21 Uber turbines to Gemini wheels with continental tires when it was time to replace my second set of back tires at 39,000 miles! Now I have 52,300 miles on my car (13,300 miles on the continental tires) and don’t worry about replacing crazy expensive p zeros every 20,000 miles! Also , efficiency, acceleration and keeping more money in my wallet is definitely noticeable 😊
@@malin7919 My Model Y came with Hankooks. 19" rims from Giga Shanghai come with them, 21" performance wheels come with Michelin. Found the Hankooks to have unbelievably good dry summer grip, average wet grip, lots of hydroplaning in standing water, poor winter performance, poor life span.
Cross climate 2 is safer than a EV tire that might give your 10% more range.
7:21 What is this WHEEL on the left?
So I did a little digging and it appears to be a one-off wheel made for Michelin for advertising purposes. It does not appear to be an actual wheel you can buy. The closest I was able to find that you could actually by were called Inter Milano Milestar wheels, but I have no idea whether they're quality or not. Hope this helps.
@@alexccjrb1Appreciate the efforts, cheers! ❤
Continental extreme contact sport
The tires are insanely overpriced.
