All these comments about the song being angry got me thinking. This isn’t a rage song. This isn’t the song that plays when you’re pissed tf off and nothing can stop you. This is the song of someone who is eternally, perpetually on the **verge** of anger, which obviously is fitting. It has so much.. potentially angry energy, so much warning. This song really just reads as “dont fuck with me, I Will get angry at you” and I just love it. It’s brilliant.

I love how loud and raspy sounds sometimes quiet down and piano starts to play. I feel like this shows that that although Karkat is very easily annoyed, he still has this soft side that not everyone can see.
I think it was said by James Roach the parts that aren't Karkat's theme are actually the theme of the drones, so, I'm assuming the piano is actually the drone's sorta theme?

It's too bad people don't take karkat very seriously as a character. I think that's why he's always angry. People look down on him.
I mean, people portray him as an asshole or a tsundere when he had plenty of good reasons to be mad. He was at the bottom of an unfair system on alternia and he constantly had to worry about drones and his blood.

@Eleanor Thornton Ehhhhhhh, Idk. If you want to talk about ancestral rage maybe check out the Grand Highblood/Gamzee relationship. The Signless/Sufferer was a pretty calm dude. His last sermon was pretty heated, but it seemed less about anger than it did disappointment in his world. I'm pretty sure Karkat is angry because all of his aspirations are almost impossible. He wanted to be a threshecutioner, but his blood would prevent him from that. He wants to be a leader, but no one would take him seriously or listen to him (at least on a surface level.) Also, for a lot of the time we see Karkat pre-a6, he had been awake for weeks at a time.

this is literally just a very angry waltz! a quick google search will tell you that waltzes are typically in 3/4 time (like this is; just count the beats) with a mm-BAP-BAP rhythm (exactly like this as well). it even features a bit of piano, which is the main instrument in a lot of waltzes! this song is just a very, very, VERY angry waltz!!!
tl;dr - karkat wants someone to waltz with him (because he thinks its romantic [he's still gonna be a tsundere about it ofc]) and this proves it

I saw a comment comparing the melody of this to a waltz and I think that's a very apt description. Despite how angry (and somewhat violent) this song sounds, it has a soft underlayer that is very classically heartfelt and romantic. Fits Karkat to a T.

So like, my brother liked Karkat so much, to the point..he became him. In the past he was angry, and would swear all the time, he looked exactly like karkat to (he did not even have to try to, he just looked like him) But because of this, My brother got terrible anger issues and expressing his feelings was difficult. Now, he is more like present day karkat, fittingly, hes not super angry, hes more put together and he is doing much better. Also funny enough, my brother refuses to play Hiveswap because he is creeped out at how Jude has the exact interests as him, My brother is also named Jude, he likes all that conspiracy theory and "moth man" stuff, He loves pigeons.
