Night vision was amazing. This would definitely be good for a family. Are you able to save the video like on a dash cam if something were to happen.

Unfortunately, there is no slot for an SD card or other device to record the video. I, too, inquired to the manufacturer, but was told that it was not possible to record the video feed.
